Company Overview

Alton Combustion specializes in installation and service of burners, boilers, pressure piping, and all associated equipment across a 100-mile radius of the Fort Wayne area. We serve municipalities, government entities, schools and universities, churches, commercial businesses, and industrial sectors.

Founded in 1971, Alton Combustion remains a family-run business. Ray Herman and his brother Ed launched Alton Combustion Inc. in March of 1971 from a two-car garage located on a farm north of Ossian, IN. During the first nine months, they operated from the garage while developing and expanding the business. As the business flourished, they moved to a bigger facility spanning 2,400 sq ft in Fort Wayne, IN. In January 1988, they relocated to their current facility in Fort Wayne, which includes a 12,000 sq ft shop and a 6,400 sq ft storage building.

The business has remained its family-run nature, valuing craftsmanship and client satisfaction. Alton Combustion provides installation and service of boilers, burners, pressure piping, and related equipment throughout a 100-mile radius of the Fort Wayne area. Our clients include government agencies, schools/universities, churches, commercial enterprises, and industrial clients.

Alton Combustion remains a family-owned operation. Founded in 1971 by Ray Herman, father to Terry and Tony. Terry and Tony started working at Alton while still in high school and have learned a wealth of knowledge from their father and through years of practice. They are teaching their sons, who are now part of the Alton workforce.
