If I could give 0 stars I would. Alto was sent out from HSA, through home warranty program to assess/fix a main line backup. When the tech showed up he barely introduced himself and practically entered my house without an invitation. (Think ""hello, are these the stairs?"" As he darts thru the house). The tech was an older man, looked as if he hadn't showered in weeks. Once in the basement he pulled out paperwork that look like he had typed himself in Microsoft Word. No company header, etc. He proceeded to tell me I needed to pay an extra $150 for him to do anything, when I informed him that my HSA warranty is actually only a $75 fee, he started to get argumentative and said no.. You owe $150. I stated HSA said nothing about this extra fee, do you have more details as why this is more expensive? He then called someone, his manager perhaps? And spoke in an extremely rude tone about how ""this lady doesn't want to pay, I can't do nothin for her"" he hung up the phone and said yep, you need to pay or else I can't do anything. At this point his voice was loud, his attitude was angry and frankly I felt extremely uncomfortable standing in a small enclosed space with him. I backed up and he started packing his things. No work was performed, he didn't even give a proper assessment (what was wrong with the main line, what the extra fee was supposed to pay for, etc). And he left. I called HSA and they said Alto should close my ticket within 24 hours and I wouldn't receive a bill. Needless to say, it's been almost 3 months and I'm still receiving invoices in the mail because Alto has yet to close the ticket.
I ended up calling Roto Rooter, their customer service was AMAZING and they fixed the issue same day. I would NEVER hire or trust Alto to perform any work on my house. STAY CLEAR! If another company is more expensive - let me tell you it's worth it!! Threatening/demeaning tech is not something you want to invite into your house!!
