We have an annual service contact. We received a letter stating a date and 2 hour window for our AC technician to arrive a call the night before confirm the time. On the day of the appointment I sat at home during the 2 hour window waiting for the technician to arrive. I received a call at the end of those two hours saying the technician was running late and would not be arriving for another hour. This put the maintenance window from 5-7pm. We have used Althoff for many years and we're so very disappointed in the decline in service we have seen over the last couple years. Looks like it's time to find a new heating/ac company:(.

If I could give negative stars I would. We had an air conditioner installed in July. In August the unit stopped working and froze over. We've had issues ever since. I called various companies to service the unit as our house is over 80 degrees downstairs and 90 upstairs despite the thermostat being set at 71. The companies have said it should still be under warranty. I called Althoff and was told that the unit was only under warranty until June after the year it was installed. The coil on the unit has repeatedly been frozen or plugged. I don't know if they sold us a faulty unit. But this company does NOT stand behind their work. With so many options I would choose another company.

I spoke with a manager who sent someone out on a Sunday. The tech was courteous and provided a temporary fix. He said the company would call on Monday to schedule a diagnostic and more permanent solution. Will update review and adjust rating if warranted.

Very professional and knowledgeable service. Good customer service. Have used this company for various services; installations, heating/ac maintenance and service, plumbing, etc. always a good experience. May be a little higher priced than others but worth the peace of mind knowing the job's been done right. Never had to call back for same issue. Highly recommend.

Excellent, excellent service so far. Scott P first came because one of our furnaces just stopped working in our house in the Village of Lakewood. Was very knowledgable and was able to have our furnace fixed same day. Because he really knew what he was doing and came off very trustworthy, we signed up for their Silver Maintenance Plan. Scott P came back to do the maintenance and once again provided excellent service. He spent time explaining everything and made logical and reasonable recommendations. Smart guy who put us at ease about something we know very little to nothing about. Had a bad experience with another company, so this was a welcome relief.

Right from the start - including from the initial phone call to schedule someone to come out - have had a good experience. Highly recommend this company and especially technician Scott P.

I live in a 1964 condo building in the Gold Coast with very complicated and older systems. When my AC went on the fritz during the summer of 2016, I was challenged. The building sanctioned only a few companies that could replace the entire unit, covering 2100 sq ft. I brought in all 3 for vetting as well as quotes. I will say I chose Althoff for a number of reasons. First, their response time was unmatched. From the moment I needed a walk-through and a quote to the last follow-up post install follow-up was on the mark. Their professionalism from the home office to the installers was impeccable. I was so impressed with the warmth and kindness the team exhibited the entire process. Now the crazy part. The team had to locate my units which were sourced outside of Chicago and were exact replacements with added new efficiency from their original version. I was honestly shocked they found them. I cannot say enough about this company. Megan was my lead on my account. She was truly incredible. I would have gotten super stressed without her help. They are a true partner. Respectful. Mean what they say and say what they mean. Not sure about you, but this is really hard to find in this day and age. You cannot go wrong with Althoff.

Phenomenal experience. The phone representatives were always so pleasant and patient with me as I had to call multiple times to cancel/reschedule appointments. Max was the technician and he was wonderful. He was punctual and professional. I needed a gas valve replaced, which I knew nothing about and Max not only was super efficient, but talked me through the process in terms that I was able to understand, which I appreciated. I will definitely be calling again when it's time for my waterline to be installed!

Impressed with Althoff so far. Had a bad experience recently with another company and gave Althoff a chance. Made the right decision.

While the guy who came out to estimate was ok, his Trane quote was ~$2k higher than that of other estimates for the same furnace and ac system! He told me he has heard similar before and did not think he could be competitive, even though I asked him to talk to his pricing Manager. I did not hear back from him.

Stay away from this shop unless you are a fool and want to be separated from your money needlessly.
