BEWARE-We called them after the historic winter storm due to a busted pipe. I spoke to the owner Phillip and they came out to my home and said they made a repair and to wait 5-6 hours before turning the water back on (which was really odd and later found it only takes around 30 minutes) but when we waited and turned the water back on, the same leak and location was still busted and leaking water out of the walls and ceiling. I called the owner Phillip numerous times and sent texts. His voicemail is full and his reads are on text-my messages were all read and no response. They stole hundreds of dollars from us during a crisis and left my family without water for many days. I would NEVER use Phillip and his company Alternative Plumbing Solutions, inc ever again. A company that takes advantage of a family during a pandemic and historic winter storm and steals money is disgraceful on all accounts! Please beware and protect your family and your money!

I'll never contact this company ever again! These guy is full of lies and doesn't stick to his word. He kept telling me he was coming and never made it. He couldn't even give me a courtesy call to let me know he wasn't going to make it. I think this was a bigger power saving me from what could have been a bad business transaction!

Philip and his crew will disappear and not respond to calls/texts/emails once they are ahead of you on payment. Save yourself the hassle and go with a more honorable company. I had to chase them to finish a job that was supposed to take one week but ended up taking over a month. Now Philip wont prove that he passed city inspection or send me the pics he promised that show the cause for repair. Lots of excuses and quick to demand payment. Then he's gone.
After hiring Philip on multiple commercial jobs without incident I thought I would get good service at my own house, now I realize I was wrong.

They installed two(2) water heaters. Months later I went in the attic and noticed that both heater tops were rusted and looked years old. It seems the water connections were not tight and it was leaking on the new heaters. Scheduled an appointment and they did not show, scheduled it again and they did not show. Sent text and left phone messages and they finally just stopped responding, so I had another company come and fix.

I hired Alternative Plumbing Solutions (Houston) to replace all my water lines and outlets with pex and copper pipes. Their quality of work was mediocre - a few items needed two to three rounds of fixing before getting it right. The reason for the 1 star? Their ability to keep appointments and customer service are terrible. In addition, I made a big mistake by paying in full to Phillip, the owner, prior to him completing the job. Once paid, it is almost impossible to get him to come back.

I should have spent the time to read reviews for this company prior to hiring them!

I hired Alternative Plumbing Solutions in mid-November 2018 after discussing my issues with the business owner, Phillip Rhoades. I obtained an older home in Houston and the city required a gas inspection before service could be restored. However, once the invoice was paid, it was almost impossible to get Mr. Rhoades to return my calls. Over the course of four months, we had four inspections and each inspection failed for reasons related to Mr. Rhoades incompetence. According to the inspection report, the first inspection failed because the pressure gauge Mr. Rhoades installed on the gas line was not calibrated and because the city required a plumbing fixture permit in addition to the gas permit. The second, third and fourth inspections failed because Mr. Rhoades did not obtain the additional plumbing fixture permit cited in the first inspection. Why even call in the subsequent inspections if you fail to resolve the issues from the first inspection? When I managed to actually get Mr. Rhoades on the phone, he gave me an excuse after excuse. On more than one occasion he promised to return my money, but he has failed to fulfill that promise as well. I learned in late January 2019 that Mr. Rhoades' plumbing license expired on October 31, 2018 and it remained expired until sometime after January 30, 2019. He was not even licensed to perform plumbing services in the State of Texas when he accepted my job. Therefore, Mr. Rhoades committed fraud when he sent me an invoice in November 2018 for plumbing services he was not licensed to perform at that time. He has since renewed his license, but it does not erase the fact that he committed fraud.

Philip, has proven to be an unprofessional business owner.
His company installed a hot water heater and we did not get hot water.
It took over 2 months to get him out to our home to check the hot water heater his company installed. Philip said he would be back on January 14, 2019, no show. Called and said he thought he scheduled to come on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Ok, then we will see you tomorrow. Again no show. After several calls he showed up on Friday, January 18, 2019. He was to repair what was wrong and lower the lines, This was communicated when and during his arrival. As he was leaving he said he forgot about lowering the lines. He forgot he scheduled appointments, he said he was coming and was a no show, he said he would repair items and did not. Philip said alot and performed on a negative zero level. Philip lacks communication skills, cannot tell the truth to save his life, and very unreliable. Before calling or hiring him to do any work sit down and get it in writing and do not pay a dime until it is finish and pray that nothing goes wrong because getting in touch with Philip will be impossible. If he talks to you, he will be a no show. He also screens his calls.

I originally found this company by my contractor who walked out on me mid job. He hired them for plumbing but the contractor never finished my home and walked out mid job. I called them after he quit to continue business with them since they already knew what had been done. I told owner from beginning i was 8 months pregnant contract Kyle had walked out on me and i wanted to personally hire them to finish the job. After we set up meet he walks in my house telling me i owe him money that my contractor had hired him for. I assured him his business with Kyle was just that with him. I paid Kyle 40k and got half the work but i was willing to hire them. They came they worked and I've paid. He has continually harrassed me about money Kyle owes him and he refuses to send me paid in full
Invoices but has cashed my 1500 dollars in checks I've paid him to finish. That being said. He would ignore me for days about work not show up and it was all done half ass.
