Thanks to Frank and his assistant Amy for fixing my hot water heater!

My 2-year-old AOSmith hot water heater broke and Alpha and Omega was on a list of approved contractors. Like the other Yelper, I do not recommend AOSmith (hot water heaters should last 10+ years), but I was happy with my experience with Alpha Omega.

I called Tuesday around noon to schedule an appointment for Thursday morning. Frank was able to confirm my appointment right away, unlike other plumbing companies who asked for 24 hours to respond (!?).

Frank and Amy came on time within the time frame that gave me (9-10AM) and fixed my hot water heater within half an hour. They even showed me how to drain my hot water heater, which you are supposed to every year (but my previous plumber did not tell me!). I am so grateful to have hot water again and I just shampooed my hair!

Frank did an excellent job of handling my no hot water issue with a 4 year old A.O. Smith water heater. He replaced the control panel which stopped functioning on New Year's Day. The work was completed quickly and efficiently at a reasonable price. I have had my A.O. Smith water heater for just 4 years. Two years ago, a plumber had to replace my Burner as it became defective. This happened on Christmas Eve 2014. The day after my Control Unit was replaced by Frank, the A.O. Smith red flashing light came on showing that the burner went defective again. Frank quickly responded to this issue and got everything fixed in short order. I recommend Frank at Alpha Omega Plumbing but I would stay far away from an A.O. Smith water heaters based on my negative experience.

Frank was great.

We have been w/o hot water for 12 days waiting on First American to diagnose the problem and supply the part. They finally diagnosed the problem and Frank came and put the new part in and got the hot water heater working in 15 minutes.

I would highly recommend Frank. He was prompt and competent. AO Smith gave me his name because they knew we were having a problem with First American Warranty.

Appointment was for 11-12 pm today to fix water heater. It is now 1:15 pm. No one has shown up or called to reschedule. Frank is very unreliable. Would not recommend this company because they will waste your time.

Didn't use the services of Alpha Omega, but I want to share my story.
I called them a couple of months back as my water heater was shutting off randomly every other day. It was a 6 yrs old water heater from AO Smith that was on its last month of warranty. Called AO Smith, confirmed the warranty coverage and got a referral for Alpha Omega as certified AO Smith technicians in my area.
Took me a few phone calls to get in touch with Frank, but finally he came over a couple of days later. He listened to my description of the problem, looked at the unit and told me there was no point in fixing it, the unit was old (6 yrs and still under warranty!) and needed to be replaced. No charges for his visit. Fast forward three months (warranty expired), the water heater started shutting off every hour. As I was getting ready to call Frank to proceed with the heater replacement, I decided to run a google search for ""water heater sudden shut off"". In a matter of minutes I discovered it was a typical symptom of a thermocouple going bad. Armed with a ""how to"" Youtube video and a new A.O. original thermocouple (8$ from an online supplier) I proceeded doing the repair myself. In about 20 minutes I had a perfectly functioning water heater again. No more random shut off, no more cold water. How could Frank/Alpha Omega not know about such a common and basic problem, and how inexpensive it would be to fix it? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure I won't call them when it'll be time to replace the heater for good.

This is for a water heater installation that they did in early 2015. First, unlike the previous plumber, they accurately diagnosed the problem for the water heater. Although I didn't need to replace the old unit, I decided to get a new one so that I and my tenants will have a peace of mind going forward. They also fix the old pipe arrangement to allow better flow of hot water. I do feel they are quite knowledgeable and experienced.

Update:
I took away two stars since my first review. They also replaced a leaking garbage disposal. However, to do the replacement quickly, they replaced the unit but not the mounting bracket. Six months later, it's leaking because of the old bracket and caused additional damage to the wooden floor.

I highly recommend Frank from Alpha Omega. He is very professional, prompt and thoroughly gets the job done. He replaced my old nasty water heater in record time and took great care in removing it from my upstairs water heater closet. The new system he installed is amazing and it's so nice to have hot water fast and knowing I'm not wasting water waiting for it to get warm. He is very honest and does not try to price gouge you like one of his competitors tried to do to me. Thanks Frank! You are the BEST!!!
