I have recently called them to get a quote to fix my refrigerator's ice maker water shut off valve. They told me that someone will stop by to take a look at that and provide me with a quote on that. Finally someone showed up after making me wait for more than 2 hours, and took a look at that. He said, let me attach a tape to that and see it works. if it does, it saves you lots of money and placed plumber tape around it to stop the leak and Voila, it worked. But, he called his manager to update the status and sought his advice on should he charge the customer. His manager replied that since you touched his pipe, you need to charge him for an hourly rate of 165$ with a discount of 40 since you did not do anything.
So, from getting just a quote , i landed up paying lot for nothing. The technician is a nice fellow and he himself felt very bad about it. May be most of the plumbers are like that only. My take from this is, i should not let them touch anything in my home without a quote first.

I am a Fremont homeowner and I have a broken pipe in the main water switch that also connects to my front lawn sprinkler system. I called Allstate Plumbing after seeing the good ratings from Yelp.com. The lady , Maria, who answered the phone was very courteous and helpful and she set up an evening appointment for me on the next day. Michael was the plumber who showed up at my house and he really impressed me as a very courteous, professional, thorough and honest plumber. Michael was very thorough in fixing my plumbing problems with pricing that was very reasonable. The job turned out to be more complex than we have both expected.....but Michael got this job fixed to my full satisfaction. I will definitely use Michael and Allstate Plumbing again next time I have another plumbing problem. Allstate Plumbing has truly lived up to its rating as an outstanding plumbing company in Fremont. As such, I am giving them a FIVE STAR rating.

Called after 5:00 pm on a Saturday evening for a plugged toilet The person who answered the phone was very nice. They were very busy but could be there between 6:30 and 8:00 Great! At 7:45 they called back and said they were running a bit late. Again good communications. Service person arrived, handled the problem and we were back in business. Thanks Allstate Plumbing!!

I had a 16 year-old water heater in my house that needed to be replaced in my house. I found a sticker from on the old water heater that showed that it was installed by Allstate. I called the number to see if they are still in business, which they are. I scheduled an install, and Sergio came by the next day. He was on time, professional, and knew what he was doing. He did a great, clean job installing the new water heater. He cleaned up after himself and explained all the paperwork. Their price was very competitive and fair.

My least favorite thing as a homeowner is having to call a service person and on a Sunday, no less. Half a dozen (no luck reaching anyone) calls in I came across Allstate Plumbing. At that point, I left a message to see if they would call back. They did. Promptly. Robyn was very nice and they could have someone come by within 2 hours.
We needed the plumber because we attempted to take out a non-functioning solar heated wall heater thing (??) that had been in there since the early 80s. (I'll let your imagination figure out the why we then needed a plumber...) Jeff shows up and says ""no problem, I'm familiar with these."" He knew exactly what needed to be done (capping off two water lines) AND was familiar with what else we needed to take care of re the electrical of the unit, AND gave us some recycling of the solar panels and big reservoir tank suggestions . AWESOME!
I'm a very happy customer. Great service, friendly, knowledgeable about an obscure project, on-time, and all taken care of in an hour or so. Just the kind of service company that will stay on our list.

Second time using Allstate. Both times received completive pricing, timely completion of service as promised, and courteous employees. Cleared and replaced piping in utility area of garage; and cleared and installed clean-out point to main drain.

Professional, courteous, punctual. Paul runs a first rate outfit, and he's a first rate plumber. A great value for sure, we called him 4 years ago and he was superb. Today, same thing. Would recommend this company to anybody any day. We will always call him first for our drain services.

Noel came out the same day I called about a leak inside our wall. Dispatcher called ahead to tell me exactly when he'd arrive, and he was right on time.
He found the elusive leak on his first try, then asked if I wanted to fix a related problem at the same time.
The shower pipes that were leaking had been configured in an unnecessarily complicated way, with an ""L"" coming down from the ceiling and attaching to the wall.He fixed that too. No hard sell, just a suggestion which turned out to be a brilliant idea. He removed the ugly galvanized pipe sticking out of the ceiling, and replaced it with a nice wall mounted shower nozzle. It looks beautiful.
Don't know if they're the cheapest, but Noel did excellent work, was professional and polite, and not only fixed our leak but improved the whole bathroom.

Sergio from AllState Plumbing came out and worked under my house that was flooded and muddy from the leaking water inlet line and the kitchen/laundry drain. He worked from morning until about 9 or 10 at night! It was miserable down in the crawlspace and slow work due to the smelly little lakes I had under my house. He came back on a separate day to install some brackets to support the long pipe runs (he didn't need to do this since I didn't go under the house and would not have known). Great work and I plan on using them again when I get around to re-piping the rest of the house.

A couple weeks ago, our upstairs' bath tub handle broke and we weren't able to turn on the water to take a shower. So I went on Yelp to find a plumber. Originally, we called another plumbing company to come out and take a look. The guy who answered the phone said he would give us a quote but won't be able to work on it because his schedule was full. When he arrived, he told us that we had to change the valve and gave us a quote. He even said that it was the only way to fix it. We weren't too happy with the price he quoted so we called Allstate. A couple hours later, Allstate sent a plumber and he gave us 2 quotes: one was to try to remove the existing faucet, change the broken piece and put the faucet back in and the other choice was to change the valve. The plumber, who I believe was also the owner, went immediately to work with the cheapest quote he gave us. After removing the faucet, the water burst out and it started leaking water. This is when all of us decided that we should just change the valve. The price he quoted us was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the first plumbing company we called, so we were very happy with the cost and they showed excellent customer service. The other plumbing company gave me a negative vibe. I saw that they had two different company names on Yelp so that was a red flag for me.
