If there was a zero star to chose-I would have chosen that!
He never showed after two appointments. No call/no show. The customer service is ridiculous! Even if I was sent a text-hey I am running late at a job. I would be understanding... NOTHING... NADA....
Cancelled service call... Never again...
Danny M.RUN do not walk away from this flake!!! He first tells me he'll be at my home on Dec 24th at 2 pm. Then he sends an email that it will 4 pm, so around 4:30 I checked my email again. He sent an email at 3:36 saying he was outside. ODD since I was home all afternoon and my camera did not indicate any human outside my house.
Then he tells me he'll be by on Dec 26 and again a no show. Now today he was supposed to be here around noon. It's 12:46 and no emails, no call, another NO SHOW.
I'm thinking this dude is writing his own reviews if he even exist at all.
Chris came by on time. Took about 15 minutes to review the situation, including doing some light housekeeping (Windexed my fireplace glass). He figured it out, and spent the next twenty minutes doing the repair. Price was as quoted. Very, very happy with his service.

I contacted this company to repair the pilot in our fireplace insert. I called and got an excellent price, plus I was excited to support a small business. He did ask me to contact him the day before the appointment to remind him, which was a little disconcerting, but I agreed because I can be forgetful sometimes, too. I texted him the day before and he didn't respond. I texted him twice the morning of, and he didn't respond. I called to leave a message and the message said he normally doesn't respond until the afternoon or evening and by then it would have been to late. He never showed. I should have paid attention to the review by Michael B. - I thought maybe he was just being unfair. I'm sure Chris is a nice guy and he may have been great before, but it might be a risk to set up an appointment because he might not show.
Please do not use this Company. Chris is not reliable is and is not a man of his word. My gas fireplace was having some issues and I called up Chris. He did call back same day and we set an appointment for 2 days later and he did come as expected. He allegedly found a loose wire and said he thinks the problem is fixed, but said to call him back with no charge if problem persists. I paid him and he left. The problem persisted and I called him back in a few days and this time no call back on same day or at all. So I texted him and he said he did not know I had called and I really did not believe him, but he said would be back in a couple days around the same time as previously and we agreed. So this time comes and goes and no response to phone call and text. I might would have used him for future service, but he has lost my respect and I will not be requesting his services ever again any and also warning others as well.
I called after hours on Monday night and left a message. My call was returned in less than 30 minutes and I was able to set up an appt for Wednesday at 1:30 pm. He did a great job for a fair price that was exactly the price quoted to me on the phone.

Per Chris's response, yes I did miss our first scheduled appointment. Before that he called me a week ahead of that stating he was at my home but I wasn't, I told him our appointment wasn't until the next Friday (a model of organization?) Then on our actual scheduled date, yes, I did miss that appointment. That's was completely my mistake and owned and apologized for it. I asked if we could reschedule, he said yes and we did. The day before were supposed to meet at my home, I have to message him and ask him for an ETA since he had yet to provide one. He said 3pm. I had a 4pm appointment so I asked him if he thought it would take more than an hour, so I could rearrange if I needed to. Chris said it was hard to say and went on to remind me that I had already missed one appointment and then told me ""i think it would be better to find another company to service your gas fireplace"". That definitely sounds like a cancellation to me. So my reply was this:
""Wow. I had planned on paying you $150 for today and the missed appointment last week since it was my fault. I have already apologized for missing that appointment. I was asking about today's timing so I could plan around needing to be here later than 4 if needed. I agree, it will be better for us to find another, customer service oriented, company to work worth with. Thanks for your time.""
I'm an honest and fair person who runs a service related company with 12 employees providing various services to businesses across NC, SC, and VA. I'm a stickler for customer service, in fact it's a core value in my business. A missed appointment and/or someone asking for a time schedule of repair would have never constituted an unprofessional response like this company gave. Additionally, instead of apologizing, this company has deliberately skewed the facts as though I cancelled the second appointment, victimizing themselves, when in fact they cancelled the appointment and told me to look elsewhere, taking no responsibility in the failure of this arrangement. It's sad that the level of customer service and communication this operation provides is so lacking, otherwise they would have been made whole for both appointments simply by following through with their commitments, or reading entire messages.
Either way my review above stands, but now I have had to add dishonest as well.
Chris came on time and easily resolved our problem with the fireplace. He also told me I'd waste my money if I got a fan -- very honest. He charged me the quoted service fee -- nothing additional. He also does plumbing (All Clear Drain Cleaning and Plumbing). I'd use him for that service now too.
