I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this company is! From the customer service, to the installation, clean-up and professionalism. I had all new copper plumbing done and the work they did was phenomenal. Jason and his crew are the guys you want on your job! Everything was explained in detail and if there was a hiccup anywhere they immediately let you know. Thanks again Alligator Plumbing! I would recommend you to anyone I know.

TLDR: Straightforward, friendly, and no B.S. to-the-point assessment and problem solving. Jason and his team ended up saving me $800 and has me a customer for life because of it.

My renter below us complained of the hot water not being hot enough (there's a disparity between the temperature up above and the temperature down below so that setting the water heater level to ""hot"" would leave it scalding upstairs but warm downstairs, setting it to level ""A"" or ""B"" would leave the water scalding/boiling up above but just hot enough downstairs, etc. Unfortunately, when my shower cartridge that controlled the water temperature for my upstairs shower broke, there were only two temperature settings: either scalding hot or or cold; this forced me to turn down my water heater to ""low"" which would leave me with ""hot"" water upstairs but too cold downstairs.

I called another plumber at first to diagnose this problem and though he did tell me that my water heater settings were too low to start with (""hot"" really meant ""warm"" downstairs LOL...who knew...I didn't because it was sufficiently hot upstairs), he also recommended that I install a hot water circulator/connector along with replacing my shower cartridge.

However, Jason told me that this would only allow the hot water to be received faster and wasn't entirely necessary since simply turning up the water heater to ""A"" or ""B"" allowed my renter to receive sufficiently hot water (she could simply leave the water running for 15-30 seconds to receive sufficiently hot water in her bathroom/kitchen which is on the opposite end of the house from the water heater). I decided to have him simply replace the shower cartridge upstairs, choosing the path of least resistance

Deciding on his recommendation allowed me to spend only $200 to replace the cartridge versus spending $1000 to install an unnecessary (as of now) hot water circulator throughout the entire house. Considering at first I would have to spend $10-$15k to change all the pipes, this is a huge relief to me LOL.

Jason and his technician Michael were both super friendly, respectful, skilled, considerate (masks on/booties on), and professional. My shower cartridge was replaced in little to no time.

To know that they both grew up in Castro Valley and attended the middle school two blocks down the street from me also has me feeling extra good inside knowing I'm supporting the businesses in my community. Well done and continued success to you, Alligator Plumbing! You will have all my plumbing business from here on out!

Did a great job installing a new water heater, new hose bib up to my 2nd floor balcony, three new toilets and a new kitchen faucet. Jason listened to my concerns about hot water taking too long to make it up to my 3rd floor shower so I was quoted a recirculating pump that I ended up not needing after living with the new water heater. I believe I received good value for the material and services. His team was always very polite and accommodating. I would actually consider them four and a half stars. With only a half star being taken off for some minor items that either were quickly resolved or ended up being moot.

Alligator Plumbing was recommended to me by a contractor doing repairs to my parents house. I'd reached out to a few plumbing companies I found on Angie's List but had to keep following up with them and none of them even wanted to come by and take a look at what needed to be done. Jason was the sole exception. He came by personally and provided a detailed written estimate for replacing a leaking drainage pipe to the main sewer line and installing a seismic shutoff valve for the gas meter, including a discount for doing both items on the same trip. Pricing was very reasonable. Once I decided to proceed, the job was quickly scheduled. Josh came out, arrived on time and first helped me remove a corroded pipe that I'd been wrestling with myself in the kitchen for the cold water supply line, plus two more in the guest bathroom. He then quickly set about working on the drainage and gas line. Josh was thoroughly professional, quick and efficient. The worksite was cleaned up and restored to original condition when he was done. Whenever I have work like this done, the question I always ask myself is whether I would hire the company again. In the case of Alligator Plumbing, the answer is an unconditional 'Yes'. I highly recommend Jasolligator Plumbing and they will be my first choice for all future plumbing work

I called Alligator to quote a plumbing job for our room additions. Jason responded quickly, viewed the work and provided an estimate very quickly. He estimated it would take about 2 days to complete the work.

Today Jason and his crew arrived to do the work. Nasty weather did not slow them down, and they completed all of the work in one day. I am very happy with the work and even happier I selected Alligator Plumbing.

We found a leak in the utility closet. Upon closer inspection and opening the drywall, we noticed that sewer line from upstairs toilet had come apart at a joint (yikes!). We frantically searched for a plumber and found Alligator Plumbing from a Nextdoor posting. I called them, Jason answered and scheduled the appointment for next day.

Next day, I got a call a couple of hours ahead of the timeframe - Michael said they are running ahead and wanted to see if they could come sooner. I agreed. Justin and Michael inspected the situation, gave me a quote that was pretty reasonable (less than the minimum quoted by another company). They took care of the issue quickly (including the work that needed to be done in the crawl space). They also offered tips on how to repair the drywall and hasten the moisture evaporation.

They were so good that I asked them to also replace an aging water shut off valve (for additional charge, of course). They took care of that also in a jiffy. I will definitely call them if at all I need a plumber in the future (hopefully not anytime soon!).

EDIT of 5/31/18 review...Jason the owner did call me back to first apologize for not getting back to me and also to explain the office's situation. Basically, he's a one man shop and work has been on overload, so he was in the process if hiring an office person to handle the appointments, call backs, billing, etc... He was apologetic and nice and not confrontational despite me giving him a low rating. I would consider trying him again when I need plumbing services.

That need for plumbing services was last week. My garbage disposal conked our after 23 years....I wasn't going to use the last two plumbers that came by because one was not too friendly (office staff) and the other one lacked attention to detail. So I started to look at Yelp! and Nextdoor for recommendations. I narrowed my list down to two, but one didn't have a license and the other was a bit expensive. I then called Alligator Plumbing. I spoke with Jason, explained what I needed and he quoted me a price for parts and labor and gave me additional prices just in case those services related to the install were necessary. We tried to coordinate a time, but wasn't able to get something within the week, so I told him I would call him back. FF to when I was able to get a time on his schedule, he arrived a couple of minutes early and got to work. The removal/install went smoothly except for a minor issue with the drain (in which Jason addressed in the quote). Got everything installed, tested and cleaned within an hour and was able to assess another issue I had asked him about.

Very happy with his work, he was upfront with the quote and a very nice guy. After going through a few plumbers, I finally found one that checks all the boxes. Will definitely use Alligator Plumbing going forward for all my plumbing needs....
