Bob honed his expertise in the Navy while at the DC Navy Yard in the early 1980s. He started working with Allied in 1984 and obtained his master’s license in 1987 and took the reins of Allied in 1989. Bob loves his role and conducts many installations himself. We had a great experience working with Allied and Bob. We called Allied to get a second quote on a furnace and to confirm that our furnace was dead after a bad experience with another HVAC company. Bob came out the same day to look at our unit. He provided us a quote that same day for an energy efficient unit. He is a straight-shooter, which was appreciated. He did not try to upsell us or pressure us to replace our AC unit at the same time, even though it is 10+ years old.

It's frustrating when a contractor commits to help you out of a tough maintenance problem, commits to show up, and then never does, and refuses to respond to the phone call asking if he's still coming.

That's what Bob at Allied Services did to me.

What's so difficult about answering the phone, or returning a phone call to say:
a) I'm not going to be able to make the appointment and help you, sorry, and
b) Here's a recommendation for who might be able to help you.

Simple professionalism. But not my experience with Bob.

Bob came to my house back in 2014(the day of my wedding reception) when my Freon was low, and literally in 20 minutes he said ""I will be back in a few years because you have a small leak but nothing to worry about right now.""
Well now its 2016 (the day of my birthday party), and the whole unit keeps freezing and he says "" You need to replace it"" He gives me a quote.. comes back the next day and puts the new unit in and I am great! Both times Bob came, I had a house full of people and no air! How crazy is that!

Just getting around to writing this review- my AC broke the day I was leaving on international travel (was actually leaving in 3 hours), so I called Allied frantic. Bob responded right away and explained the situation and he was at my house within 30 minutes. And he knew what the issue was and fixed it pretty quickly. I couldn't believe how quick and efficient he was - I will definitely use Bob again!

Ever wonder how companies that make appointments with you and don't show or call stay in business? Me too. I met with Bob to have him look at why the top floor of my new house wasn't getting cool. He told me there was an air flow issue and short of tearing out the existing duct work and reworking the flow issue the best option would be to install a mini split system. He said go online and purchase a 1 ton system and he'd install it for $1,000. I paid him $85 for the service call and told him I'd be in touch when the new system arrived. After the unit arrived I called to schedule the installation. We agreed to a date and time and on that day Bob didn't show. I did however receive a call from a lady telling me he had pulled his back and would need to get back to me in a few days. I waited....and waited...and waited. After a week I started calling to get some kind of update. I had just spent $800 on a new AC system and needed to get it put in. Bob ignored over a dozen phone calls and 6 voice mail messages. At this point I was angry. So....I borrowed a friend's cell phone and called Bob. Sure enough, he answered that call. I asked Bob...why are you ignoring my calls and voicemail messages? He said I'm not...blah, blah, blah. He agreed to come that following Tuesday to do the installation at 8:00am. At 8:45 Bob was no where to be found. I then decided to text Bob and he told me, no...it will have to be tomorrow. Some of my associates didn't make it in today. Pissed, I got ready and headed into work. Today at 8am Bob was again a no show. Then some dude named Wayne called to tell me that they were putting me on the schedule for tomorrow at 9:30am. I told Wayne, the he'll you are. You have already stood me up three times, and you will never see another dime of my money. Do yourself a favor and don't even consider using these unreliable, disrespectful people. Bob....karma is coming for you.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Bob Gable was sent to us by AHS? He told AHS that the system suffered from an electrical surge. AHS denied payment. He then proposed that we contact our home insurance and they would pay for it. On the proposal he said reason for failed compressor is not known, that is after he told AHS that there was an electrical surge.

The proposal noted that he would remove old heat pump, remove existing space pac from attic, supply and install one new Rheem heat pump, supply and install one new Space Pak air handler in attic.

When he finished installing the air still was not cool. We hired an inspector who found original Space Pak unit with old A-coil disconnected and abandoned, old drain pan in place with existing unit. A new coil box had been installed on existing Space Pak unit. The electrical disconnect box was not properly installed . It was found dangling from heat pump unit and missing a strain relief on the electrical disconnect box. We had to threaten him with disputing our credit card charges. He then returned and fixed the work he had done before.

Bob was supposed to install a new drain pan. We have called him on numerous occasions to bring the pan and install it. He no longer answers his phone or email. I called AHS who in turn asked him a to deliver drain pan. As of this review we still have not received pan.

We find him to be very shifty and dishonest. Please have nothing to do with this disreputable unscrupulous Technician. He cannot be trusted. This has been going on for six months.
