Company Overview

Allen initiated the career in the plumbing industry in California's Santa Barbara, where he received his internship in the early 1970s. With relatives in Central Florida, he decided the step to relocate his loved ones back Central Florida. It was hard for him to be employed with other businesses as Allen had a elevated expectation and experience in what a customer service business should operate for the customers. Hardly anyone ran a company in the same way as the one Allen worked for in California. With a determination to succeed and a lot of effort, he built a business that is built on honesty and reliability, prioritizing the interests of his patrons first. Allen's Plumbing Inc. rapidly became a household operation. The owner's partner took care of the finances and took the phone day and night. Due to an thriving enterprise, the household and garage grew rapidly cramped to house a company. At this point that he chose to move the operation to our site on 54th Ave N in St. Pete, preparing the site and establishing much of the present structure.

Hard to find something positive to say, workers where messy and not timely at all. Job tool almost three hours more then the time estimated. Additionally on job completion the workers where harassing community members as they walked by, intimating them with yelling. I would not recommend ever using this company.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!!This company overcharges!!!. Did not informed me there would be overtime charges for work done at 4:00 pm. Charged me 1.5 hours labor for 30 minutes of work. Charged for """"Traveling Time, gas fees, diagnosing fees and stocking fees""""; did not provide an itemized bill until I begged for one and for replacing a flange in a toilet the total bill was $408.26. WATCHOUT!!!!

I called at 9:30AM and they were at my door by 1:30pm - for non-critical part replacements. Both Steve and Bill were very professional and took care of the job timely and efficiently. Good call on my part, sticking with a name I trust.

Inspector Y. you lucked out because I refused to pay and good people of Allens Plumbing put a lien on my home for $400!! It's amazing that the State of Florida allows a shyster contractor to file a lien on a consumer without showing one shread of evidence that the job was ever done. While I was in the courthouse paying to get my house back, I checked Public Records and found 22 other people Allens Plumbing put liens on in the previous 5 years. I was told originally there was no Allen and then a month later I'm getting a certified letter from him. These a'holes went as far as challenging my review making up some story about work they never did and how confused I was. They even lied that they came on a Saturday to justify the inflated labor costs. I have pictures of what they didn't do in a small half bathroom where the pipe they were so worried about tieing into was in open view the entire 2.5 hours that the crack head tech sat on the floor. Why he didn't look at that as soon as he got there like any honest person would is beyond me. Please people don't use these ripoff artists disguised as plumbers.

I'd leave no stars if I could. Worst customer service from the owner in my life. Called them to come out, after recommendations from my HOA. Should have checked the reviews first, I certainly would have """"NOT"""" called Allen's Plumbing. My story begins with a clogged up toilet, which was occasionally working and then sometimes it would not. On a call to Allen's plumbing I was told that a technician would go out and investigate and that they would call me with the results. I was further told if they found nothing that they would check with the HOA to see if others in building were having problems as well. I said I understand the process and would be waiting to hear from them. About two weeks later a get a bill for $146.00 for snaking the toilet, flushing it several times, and reportedly there was nothing found. I was not there when all of this was done, the tenant told me that the tech stayed about 20 minutes and they did not remove the toilet to check for obstructions as well. I would have expected that for almost $150.00 the toilet would have been removed, then snaked the line etc. I went by to talk to the owner (Allen) about this and that I would be willing to pay a service charge but paying for the snaking of the toilet I would not. I feel the snaking was not effective, because a few days after they performed this service the toilet stopped up again. Which at this time, I got in my car and drove from Tennessee to St Petersburg to fix this issue. Went to Home Depo, rented a snake and got a new wax seal. Removed the toilet, inspected the toilet, snaked the line, put everything back and have not had a problem since. So, I just wanted an answer and to discuss this bill with Allen. Well Mr Allen totally ignored me by staying outside blowing his parking lot off and chatting with his employees while I waited. He knew I was there and even told me he was coming inside. Well after waiting for 20 minutes total, I left. I guess that was his plan to ignore me and it worked. It worked so well, thanks. This was and has been the worst customer service from a company owner I have ever had. I have spent over 20 years in the military, having dealt with hundreds of companies and business owners and all of these dealings have not been great, but people are always respectful and willing to listen, talk, and work to resolve a customer issue. I am going to make it point to inform my HOA, the BBB, and all of social media about this company and their business practices and the way I was disrespected. If he was not going to cut anything off the bill, just be a man and come and talk to me about it. Such a cowardly act! """"NOT RECOMMENDED""""

We had Allen's come out for an 2nd opinion estimate. We were quoted about $2000 for replacing pipes with roots and jetting the entire house by another company. When Allen's came out, he listened to the issues, checked the drain outside, and looked at the affected sink and shower. He felt that the solutions the prior company suggested were not necessary. He did not try to sell us anything and we were very happy that he felt that our plumbing was not in dire straits. He suggested how to clean the pipes ourselves as general maintenance. For a company to come out and not try to sell SOMETHING says a lot in this day and age. In the meantime, we will be emailed an estimate for the optional work and more extensive diagnosing, if necessary.

Had Allen's plumbing replace the guts in two of my toilets. Took 1 hr and 5 minutes and they charged me 1 hr 15 mins. I was told by the plumber this is what his boss told them to do. Round up to the next 15 minutes. If it's only 5 mins over then they should have charged me an hour. To nickel and dime a repeat customer is wrong. Will never use their services again!

I had """"service"""" from this company in the beginning of the month and it will never happen again. I was paying them to unclog my sewer and I was charged for a camera. No one asked my permission but they sure charged me for it in the end. Don't use this plumbing company, I sure won't.

Not only do they charge to drive to your house so called service call $ but you are also charged from the time they step on your property per quarter hour charge along with any conversations you have with worker watch out you are being charged $120 for each hour they parked at home. Service calls should cover the first 15 mins or something? Their are too many plumbers in this world for anybody to be overcharged. I had a simple sink issue - over charged.

Had a middle of the night emergency and called. They sent a technician who was capable and worked hard and fixed the broken pipe. They came back a day later to fix related problems and did not charge a second call fee. They fixed that quickly and only charged for the short time it took. Fair, talented and available that's as good as I could wish. Would use them again.
