The worst customer service and installation...failed inspection three times. Warning to all. They charge three times what other companies charge and fail inspections.

I just want to warn anyone thinking of using Allen Service --BUYER BEWARE. We had a serious sewer drain issue at our house, and called Allen Service. We've been using them for about two years.
We got the bid to dig a 8'x1' exploratory hole for a little more than $8,000. Of course, we called for second and third opinions. Both other companies came in more than $5,000 lower.
If that wasn't enough reason to be concerned, I then had reason to check my security cameras that are outside of my house. To my surprise and disgust, the lead guy on the bid job was out there coaching the younger guys how to get us to accept the bid, and how to get us to sign right away, leaving no time for second opinions. I was horrified.
I called and spoke to someone to cancel the work. They showed up the next day anyhow. That same guy screamed at me on my front porch (also have video of this), and refused to leave. He threatened me that if I didn't let them in to do the work, the company would charge me for ""every cent"" anyways. It was scary. I was shaking and very alarmed.
I had interviewed with this company at one point, and was told how they pay their employees. They pay very low wages, and then pay 20% commission to their employees who ""up-sell"" projects like this one.
They still have not refunded the deposit they collected the night they put pressure on me to sign, saying that if I didn't sign right then, I'd likely be without water for at least a week and a half, since no other company would do it for less, and they only had time the next day. All bullshit.
They have nice looking trucks and ads on tv, but DO NOT trust this company.
EDIT: Upon further review of the security cameras, Jason, the technician, very clearly calls me a ""dumb b*itch"". Very professional.

So, I was called a liar by the Allen Services plumber in charge of my project. All of a sudden, what I was working with was a FORENSIC WOOD SPECIALIST, not a plumber. He could tell, wow, I was so impressed, from one glance, that the corner of my house was NOT clipped by their little digger. No way. No how. And the rainspout was all bent and mangled by THE WIND. Also, I had to get the ENTIRE project redone by another company. In fact, it's probably because of the work they were doing that the other line failed. Never mind. It's fixed now, but, folks, steer clear of this company. Although MANY of the people working there are good and honest, it just takes one bad apple to spoil the entire bin.

If you just want a new furnace I'm sure they will do fine but Furnace REPAIR they get a flat F. I called for a ""tune up"" where they proceeded to break the furnace apart and state what parts are wrong. The so called tune up is really to tell you every questionable part that is""bad"". Anyway they found parts that equaled 5000 if I am a ""member. One part has another part connected to it and is not an ""extra"" part. They then David I had a horrible carbon dioxide problem and they turned the furnace off and said I could not use. Now mind you I have a carbon dioxide alarm 4 inches from the furnace and it never went off. I got another company in and found no carbon dioxide leak. The parts were unnecessary and they charged for 2 parts when one had both parts on it. It is clear they are in the sales games they are not there to quote the least to get you by. They create fear tactics to generate a sale and did nothing in repairs. I have found a wonderful ethical company I will call from now on but it's not Allen

One star. Because I can't go lower.
I had sewage back up in my basement shower. I called Allen Service to do a clean out on my main line. $700.00 was charged for that service. During the process Mike Oliver stated he went ""100 ft,"" three time. He said I had build up, and bellies and I would have to switch my main line estimated at $10,461.00. This was not the cause of my back up sewage. I had to spend additional money to get a valid reason behind my backup.
Mike said we would have to dig up fences to switch the line and go to court if neighbors wouldn't comply. My line is not 100 feet and the images did NOT match With CAMERA At ALL. DO NOT let this company rush you into an unneeded projects. Get a second oppion.

We are having an AC, heater and hot water heater installed. Was notified of who was coming and a picture of the techs. They showed up on time, put booties on, wore face masks, and were courteous to us. I'm listening to this crew work and they are great. They support each other and are very courteous to each other. They are very professional and are very efficient. All the techs are supporting each other and they have such a smooth flow in getting this job done. Will let you all know how the system works when they are finished with the install. So far so good.
So the system is in and we couldn't be pleased. We are realizing that our ""old"" unit and thermostat were not performing up to par which makes us really glad that we decided to change everything out now before we were in an emergency situation with the cold temperatures outside.
We are awaiting the hot water heater install today and will update as the job is complete.
SO FAR WE ARE PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE AND EQUIPMENT. Thanks Allen Services!

I used Allen Plumbing once and was satisfied with the work and liked the technician, but the price did seem high. I decided to use them for installing a sink in my laundry room. It needed to be plumbed in and attached to the drain for the clothes washer. I bought the sink and had the hole cut out. When I explained what I wanted done the technician told me ""this is going to cost you pretty penny"". She then wrote up the estimate, which took quite a bit of time, which was annoying because I had other things I needed to be doing. I wasn't interested in hearing about her family drama. When she showed me the estimate, I laughed and thought WTF?? The quote at 4 hours of work was roughly $2500 and 3 hours would be about $1800. when I asked why it was so high, she said that included the parts that were needed. I could tell she was totally bulls@#ting me. I can't believe the audacity and lack of ethics Allen charges to install a sink. I called another plumbing company and their quote was $429. I told them about the outrageous amount Allen was going to charge me. they guessed the estimate was $1000 and did not seem especially surprised to find out the price for the sink installation was enough to pay for the cedar hot tub I want someday. I guess in the plumbing field Allen has a reputation for overcharging. If you have more money than you know what to do with, use Allen, otherwise they will most likely rip you off

If your ever in a jam and need a plumber ASAP do not call Allen Services!! Called their 24 hour emergency services about 7 Sat night we were told tech would be out between 9:00 and 10:30. Got a call about 9:30 he was on his way would be there in 45 min. At 11:45 when he had still not shown up I called and canceled him. At 6:39 AM Monday they called wondering if we still needed service. I would give less then one star if I could

BAIT & SWITCH?
Called, made appt for proposal to replace furnace and install air conditioning. Representative arrived at appointed time, spent 3 hrs reviewing project. Provided proposal. We signed proposal a few days later.
Received call asking to bring installer to our home to review project and set install date/time.
NO SHOW!
I called again to see what happened. Apparently ""double-booked"" appointment time. Hmmmm.
Set another appointment. Received call advising that he would be a few minutes late. Ok, no problem.
Spent another 2 hours with representative and installer. Signed another proposal accepting the project as quoted, set install date. Arranged my schedule to accommodate.
Two hours later, received call advising us the project would cost an additional $5,000 AFTER having accepted and signed their original proposal TWICE.
What a waste of time, not to mention poor representation of company.
Use caution when dealing with this company. My experience is that they cannot be trusted.
The only reason I gave them one star, is that I couldn't give them a zero.

So, the one star is because I can not give a ""zero"" star. My NEIGHBOR hired these people. They 1. took down my fence without permission, 2. broke it, 3. put it back up incompletely, 4. dug into and broke both a sprinkler line and the electrical line to the valve box. I called repeatedly and demanded repair and the put me off for 2 weeks. Finally, someone named Mike offered to provide the broken fence part (which they did) and send a check for $500 to ""more than cover"" the repairs. No check to date, filed complaint with BBB. My poor neighbor feels awful, though it is not her fault. I am sure they took her for PLENTY. What a terrible sloppy business...oh, and I had to find all this, they never contacted me at all.
