This company sucks and I would not tell anyone to call them! I called to schedule an appointment. I wasn't given a time frame just the day. Then the day of I was called mid day and told they needed to reschedule because they couldn't make it. I told them to cancel but I ended up calling back to make an appointment for the next day. Then when I called at 4:30 because I hadn't gotten a call to let me know they were in route I was told the appointment was never scheduled. I asked to speak to a manager and left a message but of course with no call back. I would not recommend this place at all!! They are obviously unorganized and don't know how to schedule appointments in a timely manner. I would not give them any stars!

Had a sewer line clear-out installed. They put it in backwards. Every year for preventive cleaning we have to tell the sewer line company not to put the snake in the way it should go because it would end up inside the house, not the line going out. And we just learned that a new furnace was installed with a gap between the old filter housing and the duct, which makes the filter worthless -- and so we put in a strip of sheet metal. Finally, they always try to ""up sell"" you for things you do not need.

The pilot light on our hot water hearer would not light. We called Allen and the service guy said our old one was broken and tried to sell us a new on with a bill of $3000. My husband did not decide to take this path. Long story short, it turned out we had no gas to the house. Once we got gas, everything was fine.

I would give Allen Service zero stars if that was an option. I called to schedule a service appointment when my air conditioner stopped working, and was finally told I could expect someone out around 10:30 am the following day - and that they'd call to confirm the time. After not hearing anything by after 10:30 am, I called for a status update and spoke to Patrick, who seemed quite irritated that I called to ask questions. He said they were running behind but someone would call me soon with an update. I did receive a call from a female dispatcher about an hour later, saying the technician should be out in the late afternoon.

After no updates for five hours, I called back again and after Patrick was abrupt with me again, I was transferred to the dispatcher, who was ""just about to call me."" Sadly, she said, they were just too busy and nobody could come out until Monday (it's Friday as I'm writing this). They were ""courteous"" enough to let me know close enough to the end of the business day where we now have to pay after-hours prices from another company. Obviously, we weren't interested in their Monday appointment.

I should point out that their website touts them as different from other companies who don't show up when they say they will - they specifically say you're given an exact appointment time! This is definitely false advertising at its worst, and I'd never recommend these jokers to anyone. I wish I would have saved myself the time and read all the poor reviews here before wasting my time.

Allen Service came to our house to fix a leaky bathroom faucet. The plumber said we needed a new faucet and quoted us a price of $1000 to install a new faucet - we laughed and told him to get the hell out of our house. We later had it fixed for a $100 by AGGIE Plumbing. It ended up being a routine, simple fix of just replacing a worn out cartridge. Don't use Allen Service as they are looking to overcharge big-time! They must be working on commissions! Lots and lots of overhead from a big company with union employees. Do your self a big favor and avoid Allen Service at all costs!

Also have a friend who tried to use Allen Service and guess what happened - they quoted him $575 for a simple pressure test on a gas line. My friend called me and I recommended AGGIE Plumbing and he got the job done for $105 in about an hour by a very friendly and prompt technician from AGGIE Plumbing.

We hired Allen Service to do a major repair on our sewer line from the house to the city line. They were not the cheapest but we wanted to make sure the work was done right and that we had a company who would stand behind it. There were some minor issues involved in the work but they resolved them. Some I simply took care of myself to have it done. I had a concern about some damage to our sidewalk from the work and they offered to replace the concrete right away or guaranteed that they would cover it if it ever caused more issues. Overall I am happy with the work and would use them again.

We had Allen Service install a new furnace a few years back so when our hot water heater needed replacing we gave them a call. While the work done was quality, the price was over $2,000 and they failed to install a check valve on the main water line. This caused the new pressure tank on the hot water heater to create a surge flow, water coming in and out across the meter, every time it passed in, the meter would spin, our water bill nearly tripled.

We called Allen Service to try and diagnose the problem. The tech spent an hour checking things, then broke the valve to my ice maker line, wanted $160.00 to fix it, and didn't ever find the problem. A second company found the problem immediately and repaired it, water bill back to normal. Worse than all that, because mistakes can and do happen, they refused to respond to any of our calls or emails, wouldn't discount, or even refund the money we paid the tech who broke our valve. Had they offered anything, we'd probably still consider giving them a try next time. Terrible service! Own up to your mistake!Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.

First I have to say that the tech Allen Plumbing sent out was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I cannot complain about the work that was done. I had tried to install a new faucet in my bathroom and could not get the hot water line to sync up and it just leaked a small amount. I tried for three days but got nowhere. Then I tried to uninstall the faucet but got stuck on the last nut and gave up. I needed this fixed as the water to the entire house was off and temperatures were below freezing. I was thankful to get a plumber on the same day. It is their way of billing that makes me very unhappy. I was (unfortunately for me) up front with the plumber; that I was a first time homeowner and had never called a plumber before and that I felt desperate at this point. First mistake, don't be honest. Because now he knows I am in between a rock and hard place and instead of being helpful, he took advantage of the situation. I admit I signed off on the work before he did it, but again, I felt stuck. To cut my two plastic lines going to the faucet, adding two flexible pipes and two shut off valves and installing a new faucet (not the one I had purchased) and with this taking about two hours which the tech only actually worked about 1.5 hours, cost me $1,100..........Eleven Hundred Dollars....... I have a plumber friend in another state and called him the next day. He said on the outside it would have cost about $500. So he felt like the guy knew I was in a predicament and doubled the cost. When it was all said and done that night, I looked at my bill. To my surprise it was not itemized. I really wanted to understand how my bill had gotten over a grand. When I called to get an itemized statement I was told that they do not bill that way. They do this flat rate quote thing. I said, well when the tech made my quote, he had to be pulling the numbers from somewhere - would I be able to see that. Well no, I couldn't. My advice would be NOT TO USE ALLEN PLUMBING at all or if you have no choice, watch the billing procedure carefully and never let them know you are desperate for help. Instead of helping you out and treating you fairly so that you will be a repeat customer and tell your friends about your wonderful experience, they choose to run up your bill for a one time profit. Heck of a way to do business but to each their own. Lesson learned the hard way to a tune of $1,100.

Service was fine but overpriced by 1000%. A simple sump pump installation costs me $2,500, but have now learned the same service at every other company in Fort Collins charges $250 to $400. Ridiculous company who took advantage of a single-mother. After calling, they told me it was my fault I was willing to pay that much. Horrible customer service. Such a horrible experience, I want to buy a billboard ad at the corner of I-25 and Harmony to prevent other less-knowledgable consumers from their horrible practices.

Recently, while I was out of town, our garbage disposal broke. My wife, in an attempt to handle a problem in my absence, had Allen Service come to our house to change the disposal. Over $1,000 dollars later, we have one! My wife was trying her best to take care of a problem in my absence, and never slowed down to check the pricing or to get another quote. That is shame on us! The disposal is a nice one, but the most we could have possibly spent on it was about $200 retail. As a line item on our bill, it was $770! Now, the customer service was excellent and the people were nice...I must say that. So, if you do not care at all about your hard earned dollars, I highly recommend them. They were prompt, courteous and did what they said they were going to do. Now I know why! Shop around Fort Collins.
