Will NEVER call again and highly recommend avoiding this company.

First call they came out and charged $175 just to look at the problem - no work done. Second call they did a temporary fix to our bathroom plumbing problem. We called another company to fix the botched job and complete the work they should have done. Surprisingly we called a third time for a quote on HVAC and after checking out the house, the tech went to his van to ""check a price"" on a part. He drove away after a few minutes and never came back or called. We called the office and asked what happened. They were going to find out and get back to us but no word. It was the STRANGEST experience ever. We live in a 100+ year old home and I'm not sure if he didn't have an answer for us or what the deal was but it was so weird.

The only reason we contacted them numerous times was because a neighbor who has lived in the area for many more years than we have highly recommended them. A recent conversation with her revealed she has since changed her mind about the company. Guess they've gone downhill.

Avoid this company! We hired them to put in a check valve for about $3600 and they charged us almost 4K! It actually flooded the day after they left, but had flooded not before! Workers left a big mess in the front yard after they were done. We had to pester them to come back and clean it up. They also tracked mud in the house and didn't wear booties. Do not use this company. We found out the hard way that the company was sold a few years ago and has been going downhill ever since the new owners took over.

DO NOT HIRE POWER PLUMBING!

Hired Power Pluming to install a checkvalve in my yard. Out of 3 plumbing companies I chose them because they explained in detail the installation and operation of the checkvalve, their price was reasonable ($3500) and they were located close to my home.

There were problems in locating the sewer line with the first dig but on a second dig, they were able to locate it at a level of 9 feet below.

The work took all day but the end results were very, very disappointing because my house flooded that same day!

I called Power Plumbing and I agreed to have them rod my sewer line from the checkvalve and the toilet to see if this was causing the problem (overgrown tree roots) and to also see if the checkvalve was working properly.

The checkvalve was working properly but they were unable to penetrate the sewer line from inside the house and suggested that the sewer line was either disconnected or broken.

I was unable to use any bathroom facilities (toilet, sink or shower) for 5 days either upstairs or downstairs, as any drainage would cause the sewer line to back up into the toilet and flood all over my basement. They quoted me $3800 to fix it!

I found another plumbing company who would re-rod but they had the same issue of the rod not penetrating further into the sewer line. They did replace the sewer line and told me it was upside down. This cost me $2800.

In the meantme Power Plumbing left a big fat mucky mound of dirt and clay in my front yard (over 5 feet in length). It was back breaking work to shovel and haul it away with a wheelbarrow.

I hired a landscaper to rototill the front lawn at a cost of $220 and then lay sod for another $370.

In short:
+They left a big fat mucky mess in my front yard but told me the dirt would settle
+Their original price was $3500, but they charged $3800
+No explanation as to the flooding in my basement, which had never happened BEFORE the checkvalve installation
+The raw sewage was hauled out and thrown into the back yard lawn instead of the street sewer
+My basement stairwell and walls were left filthy. No protective covering on the stairs at all.
+I ended up paying an additional $3700 altogether in addition to the original $3500!
+The company has gone downhill since the original owner passed, son took over, then sold (according to other plumbers in the area).
+The company is not customer service based like they were years ago but rather out to make money any way they can

They have been servicing our condo buildings boiler for years now, but they refused us business this year.

A little background for why they have a bad taste in their mouth and refused service... Last year our water tank for the building broke and we had to replace it completely so we called Allan E. Plumbing since they were familiar with the building. They were about ready to come to the property, when another plumber came in at $2,000 less for the same exact water heater. Would you pay $2,000 more for the same service and product just because they were ready to come out and install??? Probably not! So Of course, we felt bad that we cancelled their service to install a new water heater, but they weren't even able to even try to match the price or even lower their rate. Why would anyone pay $2,000 more? I understand their frustration, but they couldn't match the price that was so significantly lower than theirs..

So, when we called for service of the boiler this year, we had everything coordinated and ready to have them service, and then they call back to say they don't want to do business for this property again because of the instance with the water heater, even though they have serviced our building forever. They had no problem servicing it last year after the water heater instance, but I guess they feel they really stuck it to us and proved a point. But really they just lost a customer and our management company won't ever use them either.

I have used Power Plumbing for over 23 years and have always received prompt, efficient service. Having lived in a 90 year old house, there were many times where I needed the help of a good plumber. The employees and owners always provided exemplary service. It is nice to support a great, family owned, local business!

Beware! Do your homework. Waited weeks for an estimate on a simple gas line installation. Quote seemed high so checked another local plumber who came out on a Friday and had the installation done on Monday for $600 less.

This company has lost my business forever. With the recent rain, we had 6 inches of water in the basement. Technician came out, in less than 30 minutes determined that the outlet the sump pump was plugged was bad, ran an extension cord through the water and into another outlet. Who in their right mind runs an electrical cord through water!? By the way, the outlet works fine, sump pump works in the supposed bad outlet. Second, took a wooden doll rod, stuck in the drain and determined it was fine but yet no water was going down or through the drain. Umm, don't plumbers carry a plumbing snake, flexible so it can run through the pipe bends?, wood is not flexible. I took a hanger, bent it stuck it in the drain and cleared the drain. Third, did not even fix the problem of the 6 inches of water and then left. We called the office to let them know what happened, the woman on the other end was extremely rude saying the technician has 30 years exp. and knew what he was doing and it is ok to run electrical cord through water. This woman may need some education on how water and electrical work together. She then proceeded to hang up the phone. What kind of business is this putting my family in danger of electracution or creating a fire hazard in my house. By the way, this was my elderly mother's house, this company must prey upon the elderly.

Never use this company if you want the job done right!

Thank you Betty and Deb helping me make up my mind where I will seek help, and which business I will support. You were horribley rude. After Deb hung up on me on Wed, and Betty was completely RUDE on Thursday - - I have taken my business to Riverside Plumbing. I had all intentions of supporting my local La Grange business but will not if I am treated like a nuisance. Not being able to use water in my home of 3 children and 2 adults is a personal urgency to have addressed. Sorry you need to deal with customers.

Called Power to ask them to give me a quote on digging and replacing a sewer pipe that has been overtaken with tree roots according to a video exploration. A woman literally said ""No, they can't give you a quote unless you pay us to video the damage again. This is not what I expect from my neighborhood service providers. The kicker, I live less than 1/4 mile from their office.
