I have called this place several times as someone referred me to them. Most of the time no one answers their phone, or the person said they are the answering service - in the middle of the day? I need some plumbing done right away and cannot wait any longer. I called another plumber and they answered the phone right away and came out within a couple of days. They are also less expensive. All Ways Drains charges 1 1/2 hours (minimum), of $195, plus $20 for gas for their trucks. They are expensive. Most plumbers charge by the hour or the job. Some even only charge for 15 min increments if they go over the hour.
As others have said, zero stars would be more accurate. One is far too generous. They came out to do routine maintenance on our drains. The building I live in does this once every 1-2 years so I thought nothing of it. Never had an issue before. I let them in and they serviced the drains. Afterwards I went to work and that evening I came home to find they had left the cold water valve shut off, so nothing came out of the sink when I turned on the cold faucet. When I went under the sink to turn it on I noticed the valve leaked. I suspect they noticed the leak and decided to just leave the valve shut... not their problem was probably the logic. So I called the business office and after a lot of back and forth and resistance they finally agreed to send someone out. Mind you this was literally the same day they serviced the drain, clearly a mistake made by their workers. The guy they sent fixed the leak in the valve (which of course was never a problem before they worked on the sink) and left, but not before leaving a huge puddle under the sink and making no effort to clean it up or ensure that was the last issue. I dried up the puddle myself and the wood was still damp so I left the cupboard open overnight. The following day there was still a wet spot so I looked a bit more carefully and soon noticed that water was dripping out of the u trap in the drain! Clearly a part they had serviced. I called again and got a very passive aggressive response, essentially claiming they are not responsible for old parts. This is an integral part of the sink that they directly worked on but apparently if they break it, they claim no responsibility to remedy the situation. You would think common courtesy after multiple issues would come into play and they would be ashamed of the shoddiness of their work. Evidently not. Not only did they break multiple parts of the sink they essentially said nothing to me and it was up to me to figure it out. So, they are either stupid to the point of being oblivious, or worse yet, lazy and deceitful. I understand that unforeseen issues arise with plumbing but there was no communication or good faith effort to remedy those issues.
If you care about your plumbing and want to solve problems rather than create more, do not work with this drain service. They are not worth your time or money. I later found out my neighbors in the unit next to mine went through a very similar situation and had similar interactions with them, as many of the other reviews indicate. This is their mode of doing business, not just a one off or bad situation.
Price gouging. Charged $429.50 to fix a leaky toilet. Arrived on job without adequate parts, scheduled another appointment to complete job. Replaced angle stop, fill valve and flapper---all regularly inventoried parts for a plumber. Didn't have all aforementioned parts on their truck, charged for two trip charges at $20.00 each plus 2 hours 45 minutes labor, TOTAL COST $429.50, outrageous.
Justin N.I've called All Ways Drains for two separate incidents. Both times they were professional, timely, and kind. Our plumber took care of the issues immediately and it didn't cost too much, getting us out of some bad situations. I will never call anyone else. I really cannot recommend them enough.
Matt E.If I could provide a zero star review, I would. I called and got an appointment with their team. This part wasn't bad. They gave me a window in which they would be there the next day. The window was 11am-1pm. So far so good. Our kids take a nap around 2pm, so we thought it wouldn't be an issue as it was our kitchen sink and we didn't think it would take longer than an hour. But then the next day came and at 1:35pm they hadn't showed up. I called them to see where they were and they had said that we were the next stop. At this point they were already late. I asked why we weren't notified that they would be late and expressed my concern that we have kids and that this was past the time they told us they would be here. The lady on the phone then begins to tell me that she had provided a window of 11am-2pm the day before. I specifically remember this not being true because I had asked my wife if this time would work, discussing the situation about the kids. I move on. I asked her when they would get here and she goes on to say that it will be another 40-45 minutes (which means they wouldn't get here until 2:20 which means they would be late either way, whether it was a 2 hour window or 3 hour window). And I know she didn't give a 3 hour window on the phone.
Anyhow, the plumber showed up a little after 2:30pm. He was here for about a half an hour and left.
After he left, the whole kitchen area smelled like raw sewage. We poured vinegar down the drain. We cleaned the whole sink area including wiping down the inside of the drain (we have a garbage disposal). We thought that would do the trick, but it didn't. We later come to smell the worst of it being under the sink. The smell wasn't coming from the sink, it was coming from the area where the pipes were.
I called their customer service phone number again and they said to dump vinegar on it, clean it with bleach, etc. she also went on to say that the plumber that was at our house has stinky tools now too. That our sink stunk up his truck. Well we tried cleaning it again. Hopefully the smell would get better.
We woke up the next morning and the smell was still there, no change. My wife went to the store, bought baking soda, extra strength cleaner, 3 air fresheners, and more vinegar. She took everything out of the cabinet and hand wiped everything and everywhere and placed the odor removers in the cabinet. ""This should do it..."" nope. We got a fan. Nothing. We added coffee beans. Nothing.
Now folks, our house is only five years old. I'm not sure what would have made it smell that bad...
But I called customer service one last time and the lady on the phone told me very rudely (let me tell you that I wasn't pleasant either) that this was our fault. She complained TO ME about the contents of our sink stinking up their team's tools and vehicles. She said that the smell was from ""us"" and there was nothing she could do.
I had a lot of questions...
1. Was the smell here when her plumber got here? No.
2. Could it be the pipe was loose and the smell was coming out of it still? She said, no way (without checking)
3. Has this happened before? Not really I was told.
4. Why is the smell under the sink? And not in the sink? (If it was in the sink that's one thing, but under the sink leads me to believe they spilled somewhere and don't properly clean it up)
The only response I got was that ""this is your fault because your sink smelled that bad. We did nothing wrong.""
Talk about terrible customer service. I would suggest no one ever uses this company again. They were late to the job, rude, blameful, and completely irresponsible in cleaning up the mess they created for the job we paid them for.
Oh and we paid $125 for 30 min. Not a bid gig for 30 minutes of work. What a waste.
Although they were able to come out the same day I called I was not overly impressed. I had a kitchen sink clogged. They snaked it initially with a larger snake and did not get anywhere. They then tried a smaller snake and ended up cracking the pipe which led to a mess in my basement. They offered to get a plumber out same day but overtime rates would apply now since it was after 4 pm. They also didn't discount the snaking charge. I thought it would have been a nice gesture to at least give some sort of a discount for this. I could either pay overtime rates to have them fix the pipe they broke or go elsewhere. I went elsewhere.
Thomas D.I was not the customer, but came home to find a All Ways truck parked in my handicapped parking area. I called the number on the truck after parking about a block away, the lady said she would call and have the guy move. After a few minutes a guy comes out of a house a couple of houses down, and gets in the truck, spinning the wheels and fishtailing out of the parking spot and spraying dirt and stones all over my wife's car. He comes up to me hollering and swearing at me about how he had to unload something and he could park where ever he wanted, I informed him it could be up to $400 for parking in a handicapped zone with the ticket and possible towing, He then told me call who ever the F^&K you want, I do not care. I do not recommend any company that would allow their personnel to treat members of the community to treat people this way, much less those with disabilities.
K. Cee S.Wanted to support a local, family owned business. Found All Ways Drains near our home. They sent out Austin and Tony to work on our plumbing problem, the outdoor spigot. They came to the house on time, with great can-do attitudes, explained what they needed to do, got the needed parts and were done and out in less than two hours. Problem fixed! This company will definitely be taking care of all my future plumbing needs.
We had All Ways Drains come to fix a clogged sewer pipe. Soon after they started working, they said they needed a longer snake. So the tech had to wait--on the clock--for someone to bring it. Then they said the snake wasn't doing it so they recommended a water jet truck--so the tech waited--on the clock--for the truck to arrive.
Original estimate was $700; final bill was $1,188. Found out later that the pipes weren't going to the far street like they told us when they said they needed a longer snake, but they go to the closer one (we're on a corner).
Problem returned 60 days later and we learned that the line was clogged with roots that the water jetting process did not affect. (Yes they took a video with a scope before starting the project.) The water jetting basically just cleared the sludge off the roots temporarily.
Called and tried to talk to them about it--got hung up on before I even had a chance to ask about price negotiation. Treatment was very shady the whole time. I wouldn't trust this company.
Kay K.My property management recommended All Ways Drains so I trusted their advice. After my 5 hour ordeal, I am a highly dissatisfied customer. I was originally slotted for 12-2pm. I called to move the time 1-3pm as I was behind schedule. They happily agreed as they were ""very busy"". I thought no problem it's a win-win.
The person doesn't show up till 4:45 and stayed until 8pm. I paid 2.5 hours of overtime because he went to Menards twice to pick up supplies. HOWEVER, while he picked up a new faucet for me, he had the luxury to buy a 55 inch TV and then get gas for his truck, all the while on the clock and I was paying for the time. When I mentioned why it took so long to get to the store, he disclosed the tv and gas. I was furious but at 7:30pm I just wanted the repair done and get him out of my house as I had to be somewhere. Plus I was uncomfortable contesting the charges as he was a stranger in my home. Needless to say I won't be using this company again.
