Being a handyman service that handles only small projects under $500, All Systems Home Service does not require a license from the California Contractors State License Board.
I began offering handyman services in 2010 to supplement my income after a tech industry layoff. This side project evolved into a fulfilling full-time profession.
Chuck Zissman, the owner and main technician, has been enhancing and repairing homes in the Bay Area for many years. He is proficient in various trades, including carpentry, electrical work, masonry, plumbing, and landscaping.
Chuck has always been hands-on, spending much of his adult life in the tech industry, but found it unfulfilling. In 2009, he founded All Systems Home Service to combine his passion for home improvement with his emerging career in real estate. He is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate as a Real Estate Salesperson.
Chuck, a California native, is a decorated US Army veteran who served as Combat Support Military Police in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. He honorably served with the Army Reserves MP Corps for 13 years.

Chuck just walked out the door after doing some work for me at our home.
I really appreciated the pre-work conversations. He's adept at gauging your level of technical knowledge to both get prepared for the work onsite as well as to set your expectations as the customer of what might be able to be done and possible complications that might arise with the requested work.
We went through two lighting installation/modification jobs for our home with the work that I wanted done. It turned out that one of my requests would lead to significant work on the drywall to accomplish, so I opted out of doing that work. However, once he understood why I was requesting the work, he brainstormed some thoughtful suggestions for me to research and helped direct me in the right direction. While he was working on my 2nd request, I found the solution that would meet 90% of my goal with no retrofit work required. That was an awesome tip that led to a solid end solution.
My 2nd request was an installation of a light fixture in the master closet. He executed that effectively, efficiently, and exactly to the spec requested. He tidied up around where worked and after he left, it was like he wasn't there.
I really enjoyed working with him. Modest rates, warm and friendly demeanor, and just all around great guy. He's at the top of my go-to list for these kind of jobs from now on.
Absolutely recommended for anyone looking for a smart, efficient, and reliable generalist.

I asked Chuck to come by and fix a couple of our external doors that were not installed correctly. He gave me his availability (via text, which is hugely helpful for me at work) and we worked out a time to have him come by. I met him at my home and went to work leaving him to do the job (he was right on-time per appt). When done he texted me pics and videos of the work done. Bottom line: Chuck is the guy to call when you need a handyman. I will definitely use him again and appreciate his customer service.

Very fast and prompt reply to inquiry. They are very busy because they have quality focus and honest reply as to timing of availability. Will use in the future.

We hired chuck to increase the voltage for the transformer going to our doorbell to support a smart doorbell (Nest Hello). He was able to come out the same day we called and complete the job the same day. Very courteous and professional, and he stayed to help make sure that we had the Nest Hello wiring correct and that it was working in the end. Thanks, Chuck!

My husband contacted Charles this afternoon and he stopped by the same day to fix a number of electrical problems we had around the house. Chuck was very friendly and knowledgeable. He fixed a broken outlet under our sink and a couple lighting issues around the house. Very pleased with his prompt, friendly and reasonably priced services. Will definitely call him again!

Chuck is a great guy who really cares about his clients. I called for a problem that my tenants were having with an electrical outlet. He advised on testing to do to see if the problem could be resolved without a visit. I knew then that I could trust him. He talked me through all of the possibilities and explained everything clearly and succinctly. Within 2 hours, he made his way to my home and addressed the problem. Follow-up text, call, and detailed invoice within 1 hour of the visit. So easy. I will use All Systems Home Service again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Chuck!

I called and left a voice mesage that I needed my furnace pilot light re-lit. I also sent a text. Chuck responded to my text message within 1/2 an hour. He was actually closed for the day but he did return my text message that he was not able to come out perform furnace service because he is booked through mid January. I do appreciate the fact that Chuck had the professional decency to promptly reponse to my messages.

Chuck really saved the day for us. We initially called him to help out with some electrical work, which he completed really quickly and thoroughly. He explained the issue and the fix and then fixed it.
From there, our conversation turned to an issue we were having with installing a new dishwasher. He changed his plans for the day to stay and help us install the new dishwasher. Again he was thorough and really put in quality work. We'll definitely be calling him next time we have a need. He's also a very nice, relatable guy.
