Nick V.I called several plumbers to replace a leaking tub/shower drain. Allstate Plumbing Heating & Cooling LLC out of Elmwood Park, NJ. Not only was the plumber 3 1/2 hours late, showed up in a plain white van with no windows, no credentials (should not have allowed him in) but quoted me an outrageous $850. Should have showed him the door but had company staying over and need the leak fixed.
He also quoted me a 2 hour job, but was done in 1.
Used cheap pvc parts in lieu of copper as my system was, did not fix the reverse pipe pitch and did not replace the drain fixture mechanism I found out later.
Stay away from this company, a sham!
Filing a claim!
BEWARE!!! I am building a new house and hired All State Plumbing. I just had the city do their inspection and everything FAILED and was wrong! I am now paying over $20,000 to have it all corrected. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!
Just stay away. A rude and impolite person who will overcharge you. He wanted to charge me $700 for installing small 31x18 vanity with sink and faucet, and a medicine cabinet (30x30). He showed up at 7:45 pm when he should have showed up at 11 AM. The installation was without proper caulking between the sink and the wall because he ran out of it. I ended up paying him $450. A second plumber who did the caulking confirmed that he would charge about $350 to do exactly the same job.
My father in law noticed that his well pump was going on and off constantly so he called All State. They guy came out and inspected down in the basement and found nothing - then went outside and found an outside faucet shooting water out of it. Instead of just turning off the spigot (I had opened it to let the water out for the winter and didn't realize that it was still on inside the house - it wasn't leaking anything when i left it . Obviously it finally broke thru the rust and started spewing water) he told my FIL that he needed a new spigot. Took him about 30 minutes to find this out. He came back the next day with a new spigot, and soldered an elbow and two joints and tried to charge him $650.00!!! My FIL talked him down to $550, but was still ticked off. At the most (assuming $100 per hour) it should have been $200 plus tax!!!
Total Rip off - will NEVER use All State Plumbing.
Andrew L.I was referred to All State by Home Advisor for a clog in my sewer line. On the phone, I was quoted $250 to snake the line. When Ibrahim arrived (about 5 hours late), he snaked the line and charged $325 - already not pleased.
Then, 10 days later, my sewer line backed up again. We called All State asking them to take a look, since he did the work so recently. Ibrahim comes and says that it's likely a grease problem. This time it'll cost $1400 to use a hydro jetter to clean the line. Since it was 11pm, and I desperately needed to shower before work the next day (basement would flood if we used water in the house), I agreed. Next day, I got a quote from another plumber in the area for 800-1000 for the same work. Screwed me again.
Here I am now, 2 days later. My sewer line is backed up again. Ibrahim is supposedly on his way, and I expect for the nearly $2000 I've paid already that he will fix the issue for me (again), but I would never recommend their service to anyone. They over charge, and under deliver.
Very disappointed. Was told he was coming between 2-3pm, arrived 530pm. Overcharged us $400 for 25 minutes of work. Left our white porcelain toilet with huge rust marks on it looking dirty from his snake. Told me that was normal.
Messed up my bathroom faucet to a bigger mess and asked for money for his time. Work ethic? My toilet is completely misplaced and he thinks otherwise. Why would anyone hire this guy for a job? Don't - and save your time and money.
Bobby H.What started off as a new trap job turned into nearly a 45 day ordeal with the city of -withheld- and not for lack of trying but the permit process is a joke here. The downstairs toilet kept backing up when you leave the water on for too long in the kitchen so the plumber Abrahim that came started breaking up the concrete slab in the garage to find the buried trap. IT WAS 10 FEET UNDERGROUND. Turns out the trap was extremely old (1940's or so) and the pipe from the street was clay which turned out to be cracked and causing mud to come into the pipe.
Im not making this up. They dug a tunnel 10 feet deep and about 20 feet long to the street to replace the entire clay pipe with a new PVC pipe and made the connection to the main sewage line for the city. The neighbors started coming out thinking we were busting someone out of prison. I had to pay for police to block the street and an engineer to come and inspect the connection made. The inspector never came and the police told us to cover the whole back up and try again tomorrrow! So second try the following day, the police left again and there was no way we were covering it back up so after a few let's just call them *gifts* the inspector stayed after hours to check the connection and it was FINALLY completed.
45 days with no water. Business shut down. And a whole lot of headaches and money later. ALLSTATE came through when no one else wanted to touch the job. I've read the other reviews and I can only assume that they've cleaned up their act because I'm satisfied with the work.
Wasted my day for nothing with two clowns who share the same cell phone and pretend to be a plumbing company. Tried to book camera inspection for our sewer line as it is appears to be broken and leaking. Was informed by ""secretary"" that I can't book the job in the mornings because all the mornings are booked, and the plumbers available only in afternoons. After going back and force we scheduled day and time, as the ""secretary"" informed me that she was able to find a ""tech"" who was willing to do it for me on Columbus day despite their office would be closed, because he is coming back that day from vacation. Had to cancel my plans for Columbus day and wait for the ""tech"" for one hour and a half, he didn't show up, but called me to tell me that they had so many emergencies that he couldn't come for another three hours. I guess that broken sewer line and flooded basement booked two days in advance wasn't emergency enough. The funny thing is the ""secretary"" and the ""tech"" share the same cell phone number. Don't waste your time, I should have read Yelp reviews before I decided to do any business with these people. They lie so much that they can't even remember their own lies.
Rajan A.The call was for a leaking drain which ended up being a leaking drain pipe connected to the drain and the trap.
Salam/Abraham came and saw via the inspection panel and quoted $375 for the repair where he would repair by replacing the brass trap with a PVC version. He had to add a 3ft PVC drain pipe and doubled the charge. A typical cost runs in the range of 300 to 400 but he had to cut a panel (which was crooked) which makes it on the high end of 450. $700 for a switch when everything was cut and open was not professional given the inspection panel allowed access. To top it off being 5 hrs late and saying that he was in traffic when he was at another job added to the lack of care.
