Growing up in West Valley City, my brothers and I learned plumbing from our father. At 11 years old, I was unaware of the valuable lessons my dad was sharing. At 17, I started my plumbing apprenticeship alongside my older brothers in Salt Lake City. There, I learned to work on main water lines, water heaters, and water softeners. In honor of our father, my brothers and I started a plumbing repair company called Carl's Sons Plumbing. We had great experiences together, but I felt the urge to create my own path. This led me to establish All Hours Plumbing Heating & A/C, a residential repair company. Ten years later, I still consult with my brothers to exchange knowledge and insights. One can never know everything in the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning industry. My brother Jim still runs Carl's Sons Plumbing in Big Bear, California, 27 years later. As a plumber, my father took great pride in his craft and in raising a family of 12. He involved us in his work, teaching us fundamental plumbing skills as children. It created lasting memories, fostering our work ethic and knowledge in a skilled trade. At 17, I began my plumbing apprenticeship while working with my brothers in a sizable residential repair shop near 7th East and I-80 in Salt Lake City. In that shop, I refined my skills on main water lines, water heaters, water softeners, and other labor-intensive jobs. In memory of our father, my brothers and I launched a business called Carl's Sons Plumbing, which we ran for roughly two years. Ultimately, I chose to create my own business independently. I am grateful for the knowledge I gained from my father and older brothers.
