I chose All American Plumbing based on the two existing Yelp reviews on here and I wanted to confirm what the others said. When Dan arrived, I had a long list of things I needed him to repair and told him which ones were the priorities. He went about all of them quickly, moving from one to the next, informing me of various things I needed to know as he went.

The main issue I called him for was that the hot water no longer worked in the shower. I researched the problem on my own and figured out it was the cartridge on an older Delta faucet. Other plumbers I called said it would take weeks for them to get to me and/or that the part I needed was no longer produced and I would likely need an entire overhaul of my shower plumbing. One even had me call a parts store on their behalf to see if they had the cartridge in stock!

All of this I say so that you understand what a relief it was to call Dan and have him tell me that of course they still make the part and he already had some loaded on his truck. He came out on 7/3/14 when others were busy with their Fourth of July plans. On top of all that, he was able to repair my existing cartridge.

What a stand-up guy. He even came back out that same night at no extra charge when I called him to make an adjustment, and I live quite a ways from Holly. Plus, they accept credit and debit and will e-mail you a summary of the work done with a receipt. Very helpful!

I gave Dan shot on my rental and it couldn't have gone better. Communicates well with you, gives you an honest assessment and fixed the problem. No games or run around. Stop looking and pickup the phone.

I absolutely hate when I have to concede that I'm not able to do something myself. Even more than that, I hate when it means that I don't know if I'm overbuying, underbuying, or just getting ripped off.

Installing a water softener was beyond my plumbing know-how, so before calling anyone, I checked to see what stores like Lowe's and Home Depot were charging (neither of which would help me, because I didn't buy one of their softeners... but it gave me something to go by) and start calling. I was really taken aback by Dan's friendly, personable demeanor on the call. He was professional, but it felt more like calling a buddy than someone trying to sell me something.

The appointment was scheduled, and Dan came when he said he would, at a really convenient time for me. He surveyed the installation area, and gave me several options. As he was working, I was helicoptering and occasionally asking things like ""Is this going to need more parts?"" and ""Am I going to need to have that re-routed?"" kind of bracing myself for a nasty surprise. The only real surprise though, was that there wasn't a surprise. No upselling, no ""Well, it would be better if we installed a whole-home reverse osmosis system, and a sonic transducer, and a flux capacitor, and..."" He did what he said he'd do, gave me an estimate on another project -- but at my request, and not in a high-pressure ""Well, if you do it right now, I'll give you this 'today only' deal I just made up"" way.

Everything was done quickly, professionally, and actually a bit cheaper than I was anticipating. Though independent, they take credit cards (I can't believe how many plumbers are ""cash only"" these days!), and the guy was even nice to my dogs.

I hope to never need a plumber again, but if (okay, when) I do, I'm going straight back to All American Plumbing.
