I see eye to eye with David... I contacted Alkota Plumbing & Heating and was told that they charge a flat rate of $139.00. They intended to charge me to visit and give a quote. Is that so? I asked why their website stated "free estimates" and was advised that this applies solely to boiler installs. I recommended they update their website and was abruptly ended on the call. This is a poor company and they misrepresent their services.

I had a furnace repaired by this company about a year ago, and the repair lasted for roughly a year before problems began.
When I called them, they refused to acknowledge that they had made any repairs, even though the documentation were visible on my heating unit and water heater indicating what repairs were completed.
They claimed, "If it worked for a year, then we aren't liable." I wanted to know if their warranty was only valid for a year, but I couldn't get a straight answer.|I questioned whether their guarantee was limited to a year, but the response was vague.}
They insisted on charging me just to come and look at the issue. I couldn't even get a, "Let's take a look first, and we can figure it out from there." I cannot trust a business that doesn't support their own repairs.

I encountered a malfunction in my hot water heater's thermocouple, that required to be replaced. The team at Alkota handled the situation promptly. The company needed to procure parts as the manufacturer was out of the necessary components. I received a conversion kit overnight, and I could enjoy hot water again in a short time. I appreciate for the ongoing professional service.

I have uncertainty about this plumbing company. The technicians replaced a boiler under warranty in January just before a holiday weekend. When it failed to operate and we woke up the next morning to a freezing house, the service was commendable about arriving right away to resolve the issue. Still, the process required four or so more trips in the weeks that followed to make it operational. So now, I am left with a new heating system that has already had to have parts replaced and I am certainly left questioning whether it was a faulty boiler that they installed or incompetency.
To make matters worse, I STILL haven't received my check for the warranty and when I have called about it I encountered a frustrating response and no one has returned my call.
With the poor customer service, I cannot see myself using their services again but I worry that they just installed a brand of boiler that no one else services.

I had a terrible experience with Alkota Plumbing & Heating. The workmanship was poor, leading to more issues than solutions. Replacing just two fittings cost me $1,000 and required two extra visits.
After the first visit, we lost heat upstairs. On the second visit, they damaged my thermostat. I wondered why this happened. Once they were gone, we found multiple leaks.
After the third visit, I'm crossing my fingers that they didn't break anything else. I will never call them again. It was a tough lesson learned.

Alkota Plumbing & Heating provided me with a disappointing service. They charged me $402 for just one hour of routine boiler and hot water maintenance. I found a competitor who offered the same service for only $185. I attempted to talk to Todd, the service manager, about the overcharge, but he ignored my calls. I was a customer for two decades, but this experience has made me reconsider.

My family and I strongly recommend Alkota Plumbing & Heating for your plumbing and heating needs. Their assistance was exceptional, and they provided clear advice. After having been misled by another company, we were relieved to find that our heating system could be resolved without having to a replacement. We appreciate Alkota for your integrity and knowledge. My family and I saved $2000!

I made an appointment with Alkota Plumbing & Heating, took leave from my job and waited for their notification. They promised to call me in advance. As 4:30 PM approached and I had not received any updates, I contacted their office. They informed me that I was overlooked in their system and the best they could offer was a new appointment.
Because of their error, I must take additional time off work and I am still responsible for the full payment. At this point, I am down four hours of wages and I still owe the full price for the service.

I was charged an astonishing $700 per hour! This was without any parts or special costs involved.
That is true. I will now steer clear of Alkota Plumbing & Heating. They have lost my business. On April 15, 2015, I reached out for help with installing a straightforward bathroom faucet. I had already bought the faucet and had the old one partially removed. During the process, I thought it would be best to have a professional finish the installation. It was an easy task that didn't need any extra materials. The entire service call took only half an hour. For that, I was charged $350! That is excessive, especially when factoring in the basic service call fee and labor.
I had previously hired Alkota for a kitchen faucet, a toilet problem, and a furnace service. I was satisfied with their work before, so I contacted them for this service. However, it seems their policies have changed. For my kitchen faucet installation three years ago, Alkota charged me $186.24. $160.00 of that was for labor and the service call, so it came to about $128 an hour without including parts. That service involved a few special parts (I provided the faucet) and was a bit complicated due to my kitchen setup. For the 1 hour and 15-minute call, I thought the rate was reasonable. The plumber who came was quite professional. But how did the rate increase by 273% in just three years?
One more thing irritates me. On the day of service, when I paid by credit card, I received a yellow invoice. Naturally, the invoice did not include any parts. Later, I got an invoice by mail that included a credit card receipt. The second receipt showed materials costing $16. The total was unchanged, but why did they claim there were additional parts? I brought the whole faucet, which came with all the parts needed.

My experience with Alkota Plumbing & Heating was excellent! They did a perfect job installing my boiler, and I found Todd to be exceptionally knowledgeable.
A friend who is a contractor told me about them, who said they really know what they are doing, and he was spot on. I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau, and they were highly rated.
They gave me a straightforward estimate for both time and money, and they stuck to both as they promised. They provided support for my Alaska Finance rebate. Also, I was glad to see there were no plumbers crack!
