Alfa Backflow to the rescue again! This season the owner of the sprinkler system company that we have been using had retired, and we had to use a new company to switch on the system. While the technician seemed to be good, he said that the backflow valve was old and leaking, and had to be replaced. Since it would be an expensive job, we told him that we would do some research first. Like 5/6 years ago, I called Michelle at Alfa Backflow to see if they could fix the leak when they come to test the backflow system. Michelle sent Tom, who showed up on time on the scheduled day. He tightened the valve and the leak was fixed! He didn't charge us any extra fee! We are so lucky to have such an honest and skillful company helping us! Michelle has always been very helpful and accommodating to us, and she is always very nice and friendly to talk to. I feel blessed to have a backflow company that we can trust!

I have been using this company for about 10 years for my annual RPZ inspection. When we moved to our new house, I had my sprinkler guy come turn on the system and it became apparent the RPZ had a leak. He told me a licensed plumber had to repair / replace it.

I called Alfa and scheduled a visit to repair. I find an invoice from Alfa slipped under my front door saying your device as been tested, it failed, and that will be $65. Oh, and if you want us to repair it, that will be $350. The top of the invoice even says ""*CHECK LEAK / REPAIR"" which is what I had said over the phone that I wanted done.

I called the woman who apparently runs the place and told her I didn't want it inspected. I KNEW it would not pass an inspection. It has a leak! I wanted it repaired! It's like taking your car to a mechanic because the brakes need replacement, the mechanic drives the car, says, yes, you're right, the brakes need replacing. That will be $65. Oh, and to replace the brakes is another $350.

I told her they should either waive the $65 or give it as a credit to the repair. She started to yell at me to such an extent that I had to hold the phone away from my ear. Something about he still had to ""test"" it with all his nifty equipment to diagnose the problem. (The leak wasn't obvious enough?) After 5 minutes when she hadn't stopped, I just hung up.

I called another company, explained the issue and in 30 seconds they said, sure, that will be $350 to repair/replace. When can we come out?

She seems to be the type of person intent on winning battles not realizing she's losing the war. Based on previous reviews, she's always right. Customer is always wrong.

So after a relationship of many years, I'll take my business elsewhere.

I don't know how to post my review of Jorge. It's messing me up. I just want to tell the readers that Alfa has done a very good job with my water heater. I would hire him again.

Had a backflow test was done on 6/13/18 and the invoice is paid but still waiting for the report. Called the office and the girl I talked to was very rude and told me when she finds them under all her paper work
she would email them to me. I would not recommend using them.

Worst. Service. EVER. Do not use them. They charged us twice in 2017. Called to request a refund. The owner said no. We will credit you for next year's back flow testing. It is next year now. Called four times in the last two weeks. NOTHING. No return call. Then we texted and also emailed. Nothing. We call during office hours between 8 am and 4 pm. Nobody ever answers the phone. Nobody ever responds. No refund from last year. Unprofessional Unaccountable. No.

Good prices on back-flow testing. We haven't had issues with them and we've used their services for a few years.

Amazing, ethical, friendly, prompt service. We had 2 very leaky outdoor spigots that needed fixing before the winter freeze. Our first quote from our previous plumber was $250 per spigot for total replacement, and we were told that no one would consider trying to just replace the washers, because they would be a rusted mess since they were the original spigots from when the house was built. Alfa told us right away that they would try replacing the washers first, and if that didn't work they would replace the spigots for $150 each. Eric came out and easily opened up the spigots and replaced the washers, and that was all it needed. Our total bill was $134 instead of $500 from the other guy. Amazing, right? We will always use Alfa after this experience.

I just had A Alpha do some work on a backed up sewer line in my basement. Had another company a few months back but the problem was never really fixed. A Alpha did the job thoroughly and with good professionalism. And the price wasn't bad either! They are a keeper.

So far, I have only used them to inspect and certify the backflow on my lawn sprinkler system. They are reliable, do the job when promised, and charge a bit less than most other plumbing companies. Based on this good service, now for over 6 or 7 years, and the excellent general reviews I've read here of their general plumbing work, I plant to call them for that when I need such work.
