Be forewarned! If you wish to be dumped right after this plumber doesn't do his work properly expect to become a victim to an unhinged, explosive outburst in his temper. This is a father-son team. Given a simple assignment the son promptly fixed it. Yet he gave me a new problem that wasn't there before. It reared its ugly head right after he left. He returned upon my call. Yet to both of our surprises when he came back he couldn't find it. Now, I have seen this before but the young plumber looked mystified and likely preferred to believe I imagined it. I asked if he wished me to wait a few days and call if it returned. He quickly agreed and without even looking to see what might be its cause left. Now the problem returned in a big way! Instead of once in a while, it happened most of the time. And by that time I could make it happen at my will and even found what caused it. When the father returned my call days later I wasn't prepared for what happened. I was interrupted immediately and told in a bellicose manner, ""You're fired!"" Now this made no sense to me since I was his customer and I did not work for him. But it made perfect sense to him in his obviously irritated mood. I am guessing he has experience ""firing"" other customers. My attempt to calm him down was brushed aside as he hollered ""Find someone else, we are not coming back"" and hung up on me. Solving the problem was simple. I did it myself. He left too much slack in a chain to a flapper valve. It is adjustable by hand without any tools. I removed the slack and the problem went away. You might wonder how places like this can be in business with treating customers so badly. But you are only reading this because like me dealing with contractors is often a nightmare. Be prepared to meet the wolf in wait for you here.

Alexander Plumbing has been great to me. The owner very well may come across as gruff but he knows his stuff, gets the job done and doesn't over-charge for his services. It's a family business and it was referred to me by my family. Alexander Plumbing has come to the rescue for me and they're the first people I call when I have trouble with my plumbing!

Charles is a great plumber. He has saved me substantial money over the years. He has installed two water heaters for me in two separate houses, handled minor plumbing issues, responded quickly, and consistently come in well-under other estimates. I had a leaky pipe joint in my basement and another plumber wanted $1500 to replace the entire section of pipe. Charles walked over, tweaked the valve, and the leak stopped. That is merely one example. We've called on Alexander for over fifteen years and never been disappointed. We even had a job he did not want to do, and told us it would be cost-prohibitive for him to do it, and though we found someone else, it turned out he was right as it was very expensive.

I can't even review Alexander Plumbing's work since he refused to come out to work on our water heater.

I am having problems with my water heater (a Rheem) and Rheem recommended them. After a short conversation with a guy with a bad attitude he refused to accept the job without a work order from Rheem, even though I explained that we were happy to pay him.

He closed by saying he has ""no interest"" in our job and hanging up.

Do not waste your time and money on horrible service. This guy, like the other reviewer said had a bad attitude from the get go. He called me about a service call from Rheem for my hot water heater. He asked me who installed the heater and I said that I did and it went downhill from there. He said that my exhaust pipe was not pitched right and that he was going to tell Rheem that the install was bad. When I asked him what exactly was wrong with what I did he got more irrate and said he was going to call the local plumbing Inspector and report me, which he did. I called my plumber buddy, who had to do almost nothing and was baffled by Alexander Plumbing's comments that it was a bad install. He tweeked it a little bit and the Plumbing Inspector passed it. Alexander Plumbing never offered to fix the supposed problem, left the old parts and boxes in the basement, and never told my wife that he was leaving. I almost did not write this review until I saw the other review. I hope this helps you with your decision not to hire this guy.

This guy's attitude is God awful. I found his business card stuck to my water heater, so called him up when we had a minor leak. He was impatient & flat out rude. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since everyone has a bad day now & again. We priced out a few plumbers & when my husband called him back the next day to try & schedule him, he was just as rude. I called another local plumber & hired him instead. Bottom line: why spend your hard earned cash hiring someone who has no clue how to treat a customer? Don't waste your time unless you enjoy being mistreated

I called to get a quote on getting my water heater cleaned and not only was I not given a quote I was told I ""was better off to find someone else"" they did not want my business and made it very clear. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The two workers came to house and gave us ball park figure within a couple of hundred dollars. My wife and I heard them and they said more than once .Which was fine with us .So called to hire them and then get call from owner.That it was a miss understanding.We both heard the workers quote the amount and says we miss understood. I think not
