This guy is a THIEF!! We paid him half of the estimated cost that he quoted us to do some plumbing repairs in a older home we bought in Blue Island. He quoted us the price of $1740 but he said if we paid in cash he would reduce the price to $1590. So I met him at our property and we went thru the house again so he could detail what it was he would do to have the plumbing job pass the city inspection. He seemed to be a nice guy (obviously a charade!!). So he wrote up a contract detailing the work to be done and the full price of the job and the $800 down payment and the remaining payment to be submitted after the work was completed. He said that he would contact the inspector of the plumbing department in Blue Island and ask him what exactly he needed Ed to do to have the work pass inpection. I didn't hear from him for the next 3 days. So I called him 4 four different times in one day and left messages and he never called back. My wife texted him twice in two different days and he texted back one day that he would call her later that same day but he never did. The second time he texted that he was in the hospital with his daughter (what a piece of crap this guy is!!) and he would call back later that same day. Alas, the call never came. We have called him at least 15 times in tha past two weeks since he gave me the written estimate and we have not heard a peep from him . I plan on doing everything in my power to make this Ed guy pay dearly for the deceitful things he has done and I want to have his license taken away so that he is unable to dark upon any unsuspecting persons doorstep again. He walks upright on two feet but he should really only be allowed to slide around on his belly like the slimy snake that he is!!

I had a clogged toilet. Nothing I did worked. I checked on Yelp looking for a plumber. I came across Alert Plumbing & Sewer among several others. I called 4 in my area. I have only 1 toilet in my home so I needed someone within a reasonable time frame. I chose Alert with Ed. Poor guy!! Lucky for me he was available the same day!! He quoted over the phone prices for using a tool and an estimate if the toilet had to be removed.(His quotes were in the mid-range of the 4 companies I called on) It took less than a half hour but all of his strength! He kept at it--most others would have given up. His extra effort saved me about $100 plus! He ended up messing up his tool in the end. The charge for the service was the same price quoted over the phone. I will, ABSOLUTELY, recommend him to anyone! I will, also, be contacting him before summer to install a better toilet!! Thank you so much!!!

Ed is always my go to plumber! If you need a plumber that is fair and reasonable, try Alert Plumbing. They are dependable and are much better than any other plumbing service I've used.

Ed and his crew will always be my ""go to"" for ALL of my plumbing needs. Alert Plumbing does an impeccable job with knowledge and expertise. They recently completed an emergency job at my house and when I called, it was almost immediate that they came out and ready to work. Ed even have additional information that was very helpful during this stressful time. Also, in 2013, Alert Plumbing came out to waterproof my basement and it's been dry down there ever since!! They did an awesome job and I will recommend Alert Plumbing to any and all that I know! Ed is like family to me now!!! Awesome job Alert Plumbing!!!

Unprofessional, WAY overpriced. I understand that a business is out there to make money, but not take advantage and gouge their customers. Likes to tell stories.
Do not use Alert Plumbing for any big scale project, unless its to unclog a toilet.
Not recommended.

I was new to the area about a year ago and had a problem with tree roots growing into my sewer line. Ed came out and fixed the problem the next day, on the weekend. This week, I called him because my son flushed a toy down the toilet and he came out within a couple of hours and was able to quickly fix the problem. I will recommend Alert Plumbing to others. Satisfied customer.
