Alejandro has been nothing short of professional, kind, and produces quality work every time. He's done multiple projects around the home for me, from light electrical work, to carpentry, to hanging paintings way too high for me in a complicated configuration, to even creating custom tension rod extensions for my cats' scratching posts. He's knowledgeable, willing to work with you on producing what you want, and his prices are so fair. I highly recommend him to anyone in the area, he's my go-to from now on.

Our new fridge was slightly too tall because of the electrical housing on the top front of the fridge, which we missed when measuring the space. We had a big dilemma because we really loved the fridge and couldn't really find another that was comparable. So it was either settle for something we didn't like as much or figure out a way to alter the kitchen cabinet to raise it by 3/4 inch.

We went with the second option. After calling a few places, I came across Alejandro and asked if he could help with my project. He was very quick to respond and told me he'd come by the following morning to assess the situation. He was punctual and very knowledgeable, going through different scenarios of how we could get the job done without creating too much work and still yielding the best result.

It was really fun to watch and help where I could. I ended up learning a lot from Alejandro.

Alejandro is amazing. He literally saved me when I got trapped in my bedroom, home alone, after my doorknob broke. He was the only handyman out of about 8 I called who was willing to help me out, even though he had other jobs that day. Others didn't respond, told me they were busy or told me to call a locksmith. He skillfully got my door open without having to break it open and he fixed my door to prevent it from sticking in the frame, which was what caused the knob to break. More than that, Alejandro is an extremely considerate and gentle person who is a pleasure to talk with. I will definitely be calling him again whenever I need a handyman. Thank you Alejandro!

Alejandro is very professional and reliable. He is always on time and ready to help. He has a wide range of expertise. I have used his help many times and he has always done a great job. This includes setting up my Ring Camera, electrical work, securing furniture with earthquake proof straps, converting a toddler bed, replacing a shower faucet and the faucet cartridge, fixing a door hinge, mounting some display cases and fixing broken drawers. He communicates well and is friendly . He is very interested in helping his customers and enjoys his profession. Definitely the best handyman I have ever met and I am picky and rarely write reviews.

Alejandro just replaced my light switch with a Lutron smart switch and he fixed my closet shelf that was about to fall off. What a great experience! So friendly, reliable and communication was top notch! He even took the time to discuss other items I'd like to work on around the house and even provided me some DIY tips as he worked. When You Find a Great Handyman, Cling to Him Like Glue!

The door which connects the garage to the house is a Pre-hung, fire rated, self-dampening/closing hinges, heavy duty steel exterior door. It has retracting hinges which if you let the door go, it closes by itself. This door was out of alignment long time ago. The do it yourselfer that I am, I have fixed it & made it work; therefore, extended its life by 5 years. Lately the lock stopped functioning & I replaced it but it would not lock! I kept on messing with it, adjust it, readjust it and even moving around the latch but it would simply not want to lock. Then I noticed that the bottom hinge just like before, is completely out, so that is why it is not aligning & it has nothing to do with the lock! So as before, I took the hinge off, shoved some wood & glue in the 3 worn off screw holes and re-screwed the hinge back tight but it still would not lock; morely, now it would get stuck & not even completely shut!

I finally gave up because the man must know his limitation. There is a thin line between do it yourself & screwing up the job! As I had extended the life of this door by 5 years & this turn around, it would not work, I just decided to replace the complete door. So, I called Alejandro Alvizuri which is now my choice of handyman and I told him to come & replace the door.

Alvizuri was dead busy but he managed to shove me somewhere in between his appointments. He rushed over, checked the door & told me, why do you want to spend a lot of money to replace this door? This is a perfectly fine door, a very expensive door. Let's first try to align it and adjust the lock. To think of it, I looked at the door & said, yeh, there is nothing wrong with this door! You see, Alvizuri could simply replace the door & make much more money but he is a type of guy which would always try to fix things before replacing. He is a straight forward, honest man which knows what the hell he is doing.

Since my last review, Alvizuri had learned much more handyman tricks & techniques. As I have mentioned in my last review, he is a school teacher turned handyman to keep his sanity from the educational system! Even though he loves teaching but he wanted to be his own boss, have his own schedule & work on his own terms. He fixed his own house, neighbors' houses & the next thing you know, he become a professional handyman! According to Alvizuri, since he become a handyman, he is happier, calmer & his mental health is even better!

Alvizuri is a lovable man, courteous, big smile, funny & he knows what the hell he is doing; so, he will not screw up your house! I told him about his last name's history & had a scholarly chat with him.

Alvizuri = Al (The) + Vizuri (Good) = The Good

Which I prefer to call him that because he is really a good man. His name is a Spanish word, originally Arabic from the Golden Age of the Arab Caliphate Colonialism, went to West Africa & mixed with the Swahili language & from there to Morocco and Spain, when Arabo-Muslims conquered Spain. That is why a 3rd of the Spanish words are Arabic & Arabic rooted. Alvizuri is originally Hispanic & Peruvian but the originality of his name is Arabic. Now you may ask, how the hell do I know all this? Because I am a historian & a linguist amongst other things!

Alvizuri kindly shoved me in between his busy schedule & returned for a 2nd time to align the door & adjust the lock. I watched him work, so I could learn something from him. I always watch contractors work. A day you haven't learned a new is a day wasted! I noticed that Alvizuri is now even more detail oriented. He used long nails, not too long to wear out the screw holes & not too short to not make the door stable. After a neat alignment of the door & adjustment of the lock, finally he made it work & saved me big money.

Alvizuri said, let me give you a friendly advice, next time, do not mess things so bad that my job would become harder to fix it! Alvizuri is a funny guy, every time I see him, we have fun chatting about everything & laughing off during the time he does the job.

Alejandro Alvizuri is a decent, honest, humorous, courteous, knowledgeable, punctual, reasonable, hardworking handyman. Do you need anything else in a contractor? Do I know how to pick my contractors or do I know how to pick them?! I have just made your lives easier by finding you a fabulous handyman! Hire him now & you can thank me later! After using several handymen in the past, Alejandro was a find. He was polite, professional, and texted you the time of arrival. After getting several outrageous quotes to swap out my family room ceiling fan, his quote was the most reasonable and he did great job. He also redid our mailbox as the HOA wanted bigger mailboxes. Highly recommended.

So we have had Alejandro do so much work on our house I've lost count of the things he's done. What I can say is that we haven't found anyone who is as professional, friendly, and as talented as Alejandro. His work is EXCELLENT. The photos of the work he's done is worth 1,000 words, and we can't recommend him highly enough. He finished a cover for our pool equipment that matched the backyard perfect, is sturdy, and gorgeous! 5 stars all the way.
