Aleck Plumbing came highly recommended, but we weren't able to take advantage of his services due to his answering service. I called and explained what was going on (sump pump and unusual noises) and the service asked if this was an emergency call. Said I wasn't sure and wanted to talk to the plumber. Was told that if this was not an emergency, to call back M-F from 8-5. I asked if it was possible to talk with someone and we would wait for a callback, but the answering service had already disconnected the call. Called another plumber and the issue was resolved. Didn't want to rate this business since we didn't get past the answering service, but a rating is required, so 1 was chosen.

Ron was on time. Efficient at fixing the issue with our plumbing and had a great attitude about his work. He worked on our plumbing issues 18 years ago and we had no issues till the other day, I'm okay with every 18 years. I thought the pricing was reasonable.

However the new gold standard was set by Ron Modrak. He has been plying his craft in the area for nearly forty years, yet continues to learn and update his personal practices, equipment and techniques.

Ron is a great combination of old school wisdom and cutting edge enhancements.

Best:. He advised me on some DIY ideas for my endless projects. It must have been difficult for him to burst out laughing at some of my questions, but he managed. Perhaps he can put actor under a list of accomplishments!

PS the ONLY tip he would accept was a thank-you. I can say it was genuinely given and graciously accepted.

All of you reading this:. Next time I need a plumber you had best not book Ron first. I can have sharp elbows!!!

Side note to owners-this new system of literally timing how long it takes for a plumber to complete a task is offensive, and I suspect insulting to your employees. I always have questions, especially about possible projects like changing a downstairs shower to a full bath. The plumber should not be penalized as he builds future business for you.

Once again I hired Aleck Plumbing for a minor plumbing job (slow-draining sink and bathtub in my 1950s house). Nice job, very neat, prompt and efficient. Pricing is upfront and there are no surprises. They have Saturday hours and will continue to be my plumbing contractor back-up.

Five days after moving into my townhouse, my kitchen drain pipe froze. I called my home warranty company and arranged for a plumber to come out. The home warranty plumber couldn't route out the blockage, said they would need to cut into my garage ceiling to get to the pipe, troubleshoot, and see if they could resolve the issue. None of this suggested work would be covered by my warranty. ***SO GLAD*** I called Aleck Plumbing for a second opinion! My HOA president was thrilled to hear I reached out - he's had great experiences with Aleck in the past. The scheduling team returned my call at 7:00 AM, set an appointment for 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, then called a short time later as they were running ahead of schedule and could see me sooner. Matt was everything I could ask for in a plumber - courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, timely, laid a tarp down before taking apart the plumbing to protect my under cabinet area, even took his boots off to avoid tracking snow into my home. As a first time home owner, I was very concerned and had many questions, which Matt patiently addressed. He confirmed the pipe was indeed frozen, reassured me that it wasn't an emergency, and suggested some alternate action. 3 hours later the water is draining from my sink (and my garage ceiling is not full of holes)! Aleck Plumbing saved the day. I can't thank you enough!!!
