OMG! Rate increases are HORRIBLE! Too bad I have no choice, other than paying the overly inflated price. Not happy!

We had a leak at the water meter. City sez it's not theirs, but the bill for $400 this month is. Calling 4th plumber, so far no one can or will take the job this week. Sigh, thank goodness for the Plumbing Joint. We will see them this afternoon.

Turns out that this lovely 2007 house I live in had some really squirrely sub-contractors. First there was the heat vent that wasn't hooked up to the heat source, it was just hanging there. This time the copper pipe to the house came at the water meter about a foot too low. So rather that putting in an S pipe, they used what looks to be a dishwasher hose and hose clamps.

The plumbing service dug it up but they won't touch the water meter because the outtake knuckle has been chopped off to accommodate the hose. Sigh, that ruins the water meter. Upon calling the Alderwood Water folks, the engineer named Tom said he'd replace the water meter and correctly hook up the house connection, gratis.

Then I can take the $400 bill for uncovering the problem from the first plumber and my $400 water bill and request a leak compensation bill. Color me impressed. This is the definition of good service. Within two days of discovering the leak, we are fixed!
