I hate to leave negative comments. My experience was bad enough I feel 100% confident I will not return here for future work on our place and other folks considering working with them should reconsider. It's a shame because we had a TON of work to do and a lot of missed business opportunities for them.
1 - the quoted cost for a water heater repair I needed was nearly the cost of a full permitted water heater replacement to a tankless water heater which I later ultimately went with. I compared 4 sources, and their quote was comically expensive.
2 - the diagnoses was wrong in a couple spots (I actually knew more than I led on when they visited). And most unfortunate the largest issue they didn't catch and I had to point out to them.
3 - the technician who came with the sales rep was knowledgeable friendly and engaging. His partner in not doing subtle ways told him not to say too much. The tech would say things like ""that's an easy fix"" and then the sale rep would immediately cut him off and ""correct"" him and mention all these things that had to be done in addition.
Here are things that really bothered me. They were late... really late to the appointment. The sales rep (btw I'm not sure if that's their title but it's how the whole experience felt like to me) was not only moving and assessing things slowly, he took two personal calls during the visit one I overheard about dinner plans, but also proceeded to act extremely unprofessionally cussing and talking about personal matters I didn't need to know about. He then proceeded to question me multiple times when I told him the office waived visit fee from my phone conversation for the consultation. I still gave him the time of day to finish and I asked him when I would receive the details on the verbal quote he provided... never showed up. I had enough so I didn't bother to follow up.
This sale rep on their website and separate web ranking supposedly has over 300 5 star reviews. Based on my experience I can't help but question if this rating site truly reflects reality.

We had a clogging drain which turned out to be not clogged but shut off - the valve was confusing and it looked open. Stanley came by, checked it thoroughly and then kindly and professionally broke the news to me. I was mortified but super grateful for his professionalism. He gave some ideas of how to maintain the drains for my rental property and was an all around great guy. I am putting him and Albert Nahman Plumbing on my house maintenance team for the long term!

TL;DR: This is the most expensive plumbing service you can find around Oakland. Sales are worst. Technicians are better.
I called them for a gas leak. This is urgent since gas was shut off for the whole unit. I called them after seeing the good reviews across multiple platforms.
They dispatched salespeople (I realized later) to my door. They quoted 500 for a simple pipe change and 3k in total for what they called custom pipelines which is not even necessary.
Technicians came after a few hours. They are even questioning the sales about the pipework. Sales shut off the topic immediately. Technicians are capable. The main guy has 20+ yrs experience based on our conversation. They finish the job within 1.5 hours even tho the quote is for 4 hrs. The only thing about technicians is that they carelessly cut off the doorbell wire which is next to the gas pipe. I found it weeks later and fixed that by myself.
I still end up paying and letting them do the job only because it's urgent and we can reimburse the money for some reason.

John from Albert Nahman was the most professional, pleasant and helpful plumber I've ever come across. Couldn't be happier with the service we got, despite John having to navigate a few twists and turns due to parts shortages and backorders. Thank you, John!

We had an external water heater that was placed up high when it was installed 10+ years ago and not working. Three other plumbers inaccurately told us it's placement wasn't up to code (checked code myself And they were wrong) and that it had to be moved and replaced, with quotes of up to $14k. None of them actually opened the cover to look at it. These guys looked at it, accurately diagnosed the problem and FIXED it. Their tech even got there earlier than expected and couldn't have been nicer.

If I could give no stars, I would. Plumber Chris came out and looked at my broken on demand water heater and assured me they would order me a part. I stressed the importance, because I didn't have hot water. After no word for a few days, and unreturned phone calls, I hired a different plumber. They charged me almost $300 for the service call and did nothing. Never even sent me the promised estimate. To add insult, they called me back over a month later to schedule the repair. Don't waste your money.

They're over price and does unethical business practice . Deepak the technician that came to fix my water heater ( no hot water) was polite and professional . After he replaced the Pilot Assembly on my water heater , he told me that it didn't work and that he will need to order a Gas Valve but it will take over a month to receive it..over a MONTH !! I will have to wait for the parts and no hot water for over a MONTH ?!?! So I told him i can't wait over a month without hot water so we should cancel the work . Problem is if I wanted the work canceled , he will charge me $200 for the Pilot Assembly he just installed plus the price of the Pilot Assembly ..my god this is so SHADY and a TRAP !! So my other option he said is to order a new water heater directly from him for $2700 .. I could find same quality water heater but way cheaper price somewhere else but I was stuck & trap so I had no choice but to buy it from him . They gave me $135 off later on but it's still overprice ..lesson learn, I will never deal with this company again and I well tell anyone and everyone how shady this company is

Way to expensive for the job. Much less expensive firms available.

Had scheduled an appointment with this company in mid-Dec to move the gas line. Took the day off in Jan for the appointment. A text message from the company requested confirmation and a time window for the tech to show between 8:30-10:30. No one showed up. I called the company and the lady admitted that this was their error in scheduling. No one can come out today. They will need to reschedule.
Moral of the story: they didn't value my time; what makes you think they will value yours? Go with someone more dependable.

I called these guys to replace washer hot/cold faucets. Their plumber showed up, looked it for about 2 minutes and said it would be over $2300 to replace because it required cutting a hole in the sheet rock. I prompty gave him $75 house call fee and sent him home. Another plumber did it for $400.
I dont think it is worth calling them, might as well start with someone who is realistic to begin with.
