I purchased a new home and needed a water softener. I mad an appointment with Alamo Water Softeners and they sent a knowledgeable technician out that took time to explain to me what I needed and how it should work. He also did a hardness test of the household tap water while he was there. A couple of days later, two other technicians arrived and installed
the unit. Before they left, they gave me a short training on how the unit worked. The did a great job. I would call them out again if I had to do it again.

When our existing Dupure water softener broke and we learned how much it would cost to repair, we started looking at reviews for local companies. Alamo Water Softeners had better reviews than most other companies, so we gave them a call.

Needed to replace a Whirlpool water softener from 2016. Went to Lowe's thinking I would select the AO Smith water softener and arrange for Lowe's to deliver and setup like they did in 2016. That is no longer the process. If you want the AO Smith water softener that they have in stock, you purchase it and pick it up or have it delivered. You have to install it yourself or find someone to install it for you. The process now is someone from Alamo Water Softeners (AWS) contacts you to setup a time to look at your current situation. That immediately told me it was going to be much more expensive. AWS called me within a few hours and they came out the next day, looked at my current system and made recommendations. They recommended an excellent system, one of their least expensive solutions. After looking at all the options, I selected a much better system. AWS called a couple hours later and setup the time for delivery and installation. So, I contacted Lowe's on Tuesday, AWS called later that afternoon and evaluated my system on Wednesday. After that, AWS called and setup delivery and installation for Thursday. AWS showed up on time with a three person crew and removed the old water softener, then installed and setup the new system in less than three hours. From start to finish, AWS was excellent. I have a new AO Smith water softener and filter system that is much better designed for the hard water we have in San Antonio. Although this is a much more expensive system than I intended on buying, I am very satisfied with what I have. I highly recommend Alamo Water Systems.

Wonderful service and very thorough. Andrew my technician did an excellent job he was very knowledgeable and patient answering all my questions. He walked me through every step of the process and took the time to make sure I was happy with every detail of the installation. This is by far the best quality water softner and an amazing family owned business!

I'm going to update this review because the real issue here was the wrong device sold to us for the city that we live in. We found out that the water in our city has chloramine, with that said the product sold to us was to remove chloride which in other cities that's the norm. By having a system that only removes chloride it breaks the chloramine, leaving the ammonia in the water. The product would have worked perfect in a place where the water only has chloride but it was more harm than good for a place that has chloramine. That is the reason our hair started to fall out in chunks and had dry skin. I suggest that moving forward you do a thorough research of the area before selling the product, to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else.

We had a great meeting with the salesman Nick. He explained how the system worked in a manner that my wife and I could understand. He also answered all our questions. When we had questions about a delay in the delivery of our Softner he was very responsive. The manager of installation, James, came to our house and not only explained why there was a delay in the installation but also began all the preparation needed for when the installation crew arrived. So far we have been very pleased with our new water softener system.

I called Alamo water softener to replace my high pressure relief valve outside my house because it was rusting. They charged me 600 dollars. A few days later I get a notification from saws stating I had a leak. Called Alamo to fix it which they did. 3 weeks later another notification from saws. Called Alamo water softener to come back to fix it. They sent the same incompetent plumber that installed and fixed the other leaks. They fixed it with no charge. A month a half later another leak from the same valve. Called them again and still waiting on them to come and replace it. I have probably spent some ver 600 dollars on water charges alone for all the leaks. This is ridiculous. I would never hire them to do any plumbing work again

Dave, our technician, contradicted what other plumbers were advising and saved us from having to shell out $2,500 - $3,000 for a new system. He was able to repair the existing water softener which was already 11 years old, and give us another 5+ years on life. He finished the process in under two hours and was very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend this firm.
