This is a review about creating a positive situation from a negative one.

At the end of last August, Al Lawrence installed a new central Air system at my mothers house. There were never any more hot days last summer so the system was never pushed hard and appeared to work.

Well this year was a different story, and the evaporator would consistently freeze up. Now this is not a simple system. This is a high velocity system retrofitted into an old house. After a week or two of diagnosis, they discovered that the condenser system was too large for the air handler. Rick Lawrence was great, communicating, and finally had to install a smaller condenser.

While many companies would have passed the blame and walked away 9 months later, Al Lawrence stood by their warranty and got the system working perfectly.

My mom used Al over the years. She replaced oil boilers that ran out of water. The last boiler was put in with an automatic feed - 10 years ago - way after the rest of the world had to worry about running out of hot water.

We have had issues with the burner jet until it was replaced by a competing firm. The pipes have burst and found out a repair to a pipe was made with solder instead of through replacement and it failed a second time until fixed by a reputable plumber.

I am now faced with thee choice of replacing this poorly installed oil boiler or to pay through the nose to replace with gas - which should have been the recommendation 2 boilers ago.

Family had used al lawrence in the past. We agreed to pay $2000 more than competing companies for quick service. Total charges for job were $1200 more than the original quote. RUN!!! Don't get taken advantage of next. Luckily this was put on a credit card and they will handle the dispute for us.
