Sharon V.What a joke! Called cause I had a leak From where my handyman tried to remove a valve in my shower, so we turned off the water! Call AJ's I should've known by that phone call and how unprofessional he was that I shouldn't have him come out! Well he says it'll be $165 an hour, freaked out, I said please come! He comes and goes in for 10 minutes if that and tells me there needs to be a new valve cause it's """"old school"""" but he needs to cut into my wall and that'll be like two hours and he's already at 45 minutes because he charges for when he gets in his truck and starts driving (and he said he had to come all the way from Freeport) yet the business says SRB(that's why I called locally) Are you kidding me!??? I've never heard of anything like that! So I chose not to continue because it was already an hour basically and he didn't look to enthused anyways to help! Absolutely ridiculous!needless to say I'm getting another plumber and wished I would've read these reviews before calling
I called to get an estimate on a job to relocate a washer hookup back in mid June. They came out to my house and provided a ballpark, verbal estimate, with no mention that they would charge me for the estimate if I didn't go with their quote or having me agree to anything like that in writing. Well guess what? I didn't go with their quote, and now it is late September, more than 3 months later, and they emailed me out of the blue this morning with an invoice for $110.00 for their """"service call"""" back in June. I promptly gave them a call this afternoon to let them know they never informed me of this charge at the time the estimate was provided. They of course claimed that they had. I looked at their Better Business Bureau profile and it looks like they had a similar complaint filed against them last year where they provided a quote to a prospective homeowner who had a home under contract without informing them that they would incur a charge if the quote wasn't accepted. The would-be homeowner received a similar invoice even though they were not informed upfront. What this company doesn't realize is that since we have no written contract, this would not stand up to scrutiny in a court of law. The burden of proof is on them to demonstrate that I agreed to this charge and they didn't even provide a written estimate, let alone enter into a legally binding contract with me stating what I would be charged. Needless to say, I informed them that I will not be paying the invoice and will post updates here on what comes next. For now, buyer beware.
Tim C.I shouldn't have used this guy. First, a 150 dollar """"emergency call"""" for tenants bath tub not draining turned into cutting holes in my own bathroom ceiling to expose barely leaking pipes which I would have wanted to be addressed after the tub drain issue was finished, but no plumbing work was ever completed. Was charged 3 hours of labor but wasn't there for more than 2.5 hours. Had another plumbing company come in and worked less than 1 hour to solve both issues. Will never be doing business with this plumber again.
Dan D.AJ's Plumbing is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. The techs told me one story about what was wrong with my hot water heater (just needed to turn some valves) and then the told my renters another story about an electrical problem then after not hearing anything about whether or not it was fixed supposedly the tech's turned in some report about needing a diagram. The girl on the phone got nasty with me when I informed her I had a recording of her not so professional tech dropping """"F"""" bombs and other colorful words with my vacation renter just upstairs from them. They also used the """"N"""" word which disgusted me the most. What a total disaster.... watch for the video on YouTube titled AJ Plumbing Review and witness for yourself what a bunch of clowns these guys were even knowing the Ring camera was capturing everything they we saying and doing.
Amanda E.DO NOT USE AJ's!!! DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Called Aj's Due to a visible water leak that was coming through my ceiling from an upstairs shower. The plumber came out stayed for a maximum of 10 minutes. He just looked up at the ceiling and said, yeah you have a leak. He did not bring tools and said he didn't know where exactly the leak was coming from. He just looked at the ceiling. He said he would order the part that day and would call my mother back that day to set up next appointment. I'm not quite sure how he knew what part to order if he didn't know where the leak was coming from?? My mother called AJ's ,because she didn't hear back from plumber, and Theresa said there hasn't been a part ordered for her on record. She said she would order it now and the appointment to fix it would be the following week. On the phone we specifically told AJ's where the leak was coming from. Due to lack of communication, we've decided to go with a different company. Aj's is charging me $115.00 for 10 min of a plumber looking at the ceiling confirming we have a leak. I should have been informed on the phone their repair protocol. We've used AJ's in the past and they came out and fixed the issue at that time. We've recommended them numerous times, but will not moving forward. I feel like I've been taken advantage of and it's bad business practice. I manage properties along 30A and will spread the word.
I have used AJ's in the past, but no longer. If you want to pay $110.00 for someone to come out and try to sell you a hot water heater, and not check the one you have to see what was really wrong with it, go right ahead. It use to be a great business.
Anne H.We have used Aj's exclusively for 14 years, but no more. We just replaced A garbage disposal that they had provided/ installed on two years ago. We provided the disposal this time. About an hour after installation, it began to leak. He came back and tightened something. About an hour later, it started leaking again. He came back and installed a new P-trap. They charged us for a second visit on the same day to replace the p-trap. I can understand charging us for the part but to charge us for an additional labor visit on the same day because he didn't do it right the first visit is just wrong. When I called to inquire, the attitude was one of complete indifference. Fo yourself a favor and use a different plumbing company.
We had a dishwasher hooked up in our condo. The tech was new and had never installed one before and my husband spent 3 hours assisting. We removed the dishwasher ourselves. The owner never called me back after requesting to talk to someone about the expensive invoice as he charged us $387 to install a dishwasher that was 2 feet from the old one. We will never ever use them again. They were rude and incompetent. Very unprofessional. Stay away from AJ's plumbing!!
I used this company in the past and although scheduling was difficult and the plumber no-showed the appointment, when he finally did come (later the same day after I called the answering service) he was very helpful. On a recent second occasion, I had even more difficulty scheduling. I had to wait 5 days for an appointment at a time of day that I told the receptionist I wasn't available. I took the afternoon off work and had to plan alternate transportation for my kids after school, then... the plumber didn't come. This time, I at least got a call before the end of the day (at 4:00). The scheduler was unapologetic and unwilling to try to make it right by working with my schedule at all. I was basically told that I could wait another week for another afternoon appointment or I could call someplace else. If you value your time at all, skip this company.
Matt L.Fantastic service! Steve helped us with several issues we were having with our toilets and showers. He was incredibly courteous and friendly all while being a true professional. He walked me through the whole process and showed me some tricks to prevent and triage issues if they were ever to happen again. With 24 hour emergency service and a full staff of highly trained personnel, these are the professionals you want to call for all of your plumbing needs. They can help with indoor and outdoor water issues whether it's broken pipes, clogged drains, frozen and burst pipes and so much more. AJs has been around for quite some time and there is a reason for it... they are the best in the area and their track record shows it. Located in Santa Rosa Beach, they service a wide area spanning north and south of the bay as well as east and west of 331. Be sure to contact them first!
