Called and explained to them what we needed and wanted done. They give us a window time between 1pm & 7pm at 545 they call and try to reschedule the appointment because the guy had a long day. First off why give a window time till 7pm? Poor customer service. The guy shows up sits in his van for 5mins. When he finally gets out hes got an attitude. Walks downstairs with us price more then doubles we carefully explained to them on the phone needed done. We were lied to. The guy even made a remark about not everyone can afford a plumber. He argues with us about the price says he will call his supervisor goes outside and gets in his van and makes a phone call. A few minutes later he was about to pull away and not say a word. We walk up to him and says we need to reschedule.

Called A and J for a backup in my basement. The man that came out to fix it was nice and was able to get water flow back in the drain, but in the process removed my ducts from the dryer which he said he needed to to reach the main pipe, which I understand. But then the ducts fell apart and he basically told me that it's not his fault and he can't fix it. I have been unable to use my dryer for a week now and have to call a repair man to come replace the ducts that were broken during the pipe repair. I was unable to use my washer because of the backup, he fixed the backup and broke the ducts to my dryer which I am unable to use now. Fixed a problem and created another. Very inconvenient.

A&J came out to fix my city water valve in our basement. Additionally, they installed ball joints in our bathroom but didn't complete the job as they stated it would cost $1200 to do also install a new shower head. So we asked just to fix the leak in our city valve and paid over $500 to have it completed and took the technician Sean about 10 minutes. I had already agreed to the cost but was shocked when it took him 10 minutes. Absolutely price gauging. I Will never call or recommend A&J plumbing in the future.

I had a sewer line problem in my basement. I found this company online and scheduled an estimate. They came when scheduled, estimate was free as stated. A complete breakdown of the job was given,as well as explaining the possible issues that could alter the quote. The crew was: on time, diligent in prepping the work area, minimizing damage within reason for the job, courteous, thorough, and finished the job in a timely manner. Jay and his crew did a good job and even returned to follow up. I would recommend this group to anyone.

Zero stars. At 11am we called for basement sewage backup and they said they would be out between noon and 7pm. We called back at 5 pm cause sewage was still coming into our basement, they said we're on the list and they would call an hour before they were on their way. At 6:15 pm they called and said they can't make it because the technician would be at his current job for another 2 hours ... this is after we waited seven hours and 15 mins! Any reputable company should make the service call or give appropriate notice that they can't come. Now everything is closed and we have to wait until morning to fix the sewage backup. Don't waste your time waiting for these people!

Scheduled an appointment. Waited all day today to have them call at 4:20 p.m. to say, ""Sorry. We can't get out there today."" Although the lady was nice, ""sorry"" does not stop me from being extremely unhappy and does not get my drain fixed. Don't care about excuses. Scheduled appointment. Show up. Guess they have to put coupons in the local mail to get business, don't be fooled. Won't recommend this company. Call Roto Rooter.

My technician was Mat (with one T)- he was the reason we selected A&J. We had scheduled more companies lined up for bids for the jobs we needed (replace 3 toilets, add a stand alone ice maker, replace the fawcett in our kitchen, replace the sump pump and back up in the basement) and we stopped the search after Mat came to the house for the bid. We are very happy with our service and the job. He always wore booties every time he came into the house and took them off when he left to keep our floors cleaned. He vacuumed and cleaned up after any mess that was made. He ran into some difficulties with with the ice maker (some 'join it thingy that I'm not sure of but he knows) and he promptly obtained the piece and installed the ice maker.

We are thrilled with Mat and our service. We are happy to call A & J our plumbing service.

Craig was extremely helpful in taking another look at the charges and was able to work something out with my brother. Everyone is very grateful!

How dare a company charge $425 for 1/2 job to a senior citizen who was in need of water. Really. They did come out fairly quickly but that is outrageous. It was a frozen water pipe that took all of 1/2 to thaw! Really? Highway robbery. You should be ashamed!!

I used to call AJ when our main drain backed up all the time because our landlord refused to get it water jetted for 2 years. We must've spent over $500 on drain cleaning before the landlord finally dropped $900 on the water jetting.
The service was nothing spectacular but they got the job done. Now a year later we moved down the street and our main drain starts backing up here. I call AJ like I always did before and a woman puts me on hold 3 separate times before taking my info for an appointment then finally checks to see if Algonac is even in the service area. She says they can't service us because we're too far north... But their ad is in the local paper, th.eir website and even the yelp listing for them says they're based in macomb and that they service our area.
The woman I spoke to was in a hell of a hurry to hang up on me and didn't want to explain when they switched service areas
Update your website, listings and advertisements and maybe you won't need to hang up on everyone from algonac lmao

A&J Plumbing and Sewer service charged me $200 for me to do most of the work. First they sent someone who could not find our house. 3 hours later he showed up and spent over an hour sending his auger INTO our house sewer line Instead of OUT to the street. After I turned his power auger around facing the street, he successfully ran it 65 feet to the small root ball and removed it. We have a simple straight sewer line directly from the house to the road. Two weeks later lo and behold, same problem. TERRIBLE job!!!! After arguing with a ""supervisor "" for 15 minutes with my wife, we were told they would not come back to fix it and no warranty because ""technician "" wrote on paperwork ""funny runs""!!!! What a joke! Never do business with these dishonest people. Sincerely, Scott Strickland. Belleville MI
