Not good is too high of a rating.
I needed a kitchen garbage disposal replaced. While they were able to schedule me two days later, they wanted to charge me a $65 service call just to give me a quote to replace a very standard kitchen disposal. I got them to waive the cost of the service call just by saying that I didn't want to pay and then get a really high quote (I must be psychic.....right?)
The quote was not high it was astronomical. They wanted $660 just to do the install if I had already gotten the new part. If they provided the disposal, then the price started at $856.
I went to Home Depot and bought the disposal for $118. It took me 10 minutes to take the old one out and about 45 minutes to put the new one in....and I'm retired and no kind of handyman. I saved $738 by doing it myself and it took less than an hour.
Our furnace was turned off in February, 2016, for 4+ days. Danboise was quick to respond and went above and beyond to help us. Although they did not install the furnace, they have been our number one choice for the past five years.
This particular make/model furnace has had issues with a malfunctioning secondary heat exchanger. It corrodes, fails, and can, if safety features built into the unit fail, emit carbon monoxide poisoning. In fact, when I went on line, I found two lawsuits for prematurely malfunctioning secondary heat exchangers filed against the manufacturer of this furnace, one was filed in November 2007.
The company we used in 2010, and will NEVER use again, recommended and installed this furnace, costing us $6,600. Unknown to us, the model they sold us in 2010 was listed in 2007's lawsuit as one of the affected models. Even if 2010's model was new and improved, we have experienced the same problem as the people who filed the lawsuit in 2007. Our gas furnace is 5 years old and should last up to 20 years.
The manufacturer of this furnace has set aside funds, labor alone is $1,500, to repair the heat exchanger at no cost to the customer. Danboise stated that since they are not an authorized dealer for this particular furnace, we would have to go with an authorized dealer in order to take advantage of the cost savings. In spite of not being able to 'get the business', the Danboise technician called the manufacturer and determined the parts were locally available and assured us the unit could be quickly fixed.
The technician was knowledgeable and went beyond what could reasonably be expected of a company that knows the customer will be using another company for the repairs.
I highly recommend using Danboise for all your purchases and repairs. They care about their customers.
