This company, and its owner Jim, were assigned to us through our home warranty company American Home Shield. Jim was quick to come out and assess the job, super pleasant, and helpful. I thought we had finally gotten a good contractor - since every single one assigned to us through American Home Shield has been awful. Jim tried to fix our central air and when it still did not get the house down to temperature in a reasonable amount of time, he recommended a replacement through our warranty. The replacement was approved and we eagerly awaited the installation of our new central air.

And then we continued to wait for MONTHS during the hottest summer on record. The first month of waiting was not Jim's fault - American Home Shield was slow to ship him the equipment. However, in the first month the equipment had not arrived to Jim, he did not update us on the progress or even give us a possible timeline. I called / texted Jim every week to find out what was going on. Early August Jim said he received all of the equipment from AHS and would be able to install either Friday of that week or the following Tuesday. Friday came - no call or text or show. I texted Jim Monday to ask about whether that meant he would be coming on Tuesday - no response, no show. Fast forward to September, still have not heard back from Jim and still no installation scheduled. I finally get a reply and we scheduled an installation on a Thursday afternoon after 3. I could not stay home for another full day so I needed an afternoon installation. I get home at 3 the day of the installation - no text, no call, no show AND no response to my texts or calls to find out why he didn't show. I spent another few weeks on calls with the warranty company who kept trying to get a hold of Jim. When they would reach him, Jim would promise them he would schedule an appointment with me - and then never would. He also told them he couldn't install after 3 pm since it would take 7 hours to install the new system - a fact he failed to mention to me when he confirmed a 3 pm installation. Fast forward to MID OCTOBER. After getting to the escalation department at AHS, I was able to get another installation date scheduled. It was scheduled for between 9 - 10 in the morning. The technicians from Air and Water Solutions showed up at 1 pm. The ""seven hour installation"" took 2.5 hours. And if the customer service wasn't bad enough - the technicians wouldn't get out of the vehicle to start the installation until they were handed a check in payment from us. They clearly do such bad business that they worried they wouldn't get paid.

If you are assigned Air and Water Solutions through American Home Shield - CHANGE CONTRACTORS IMMEDIATELY. You have that option before they come out to start the job. We went without AC from June until the middle of October - save yourself from that misery!

If you choose to hire this company without a warranty - maybe Jim will treat you better than a warranty customer but that is not a gamble I would recommend. If you want good customer service - ANY company would be better.

This is the second time I was forced to use this company through American Home Shield. Both times they stopped in but didn't do as they were supposed to do. Neither time was the job finished. They said they would return to finish the work and then they never came back and never called. Stay away from this company! I have since cancelled American Home Shield because of the lousy service from Air & Water Solutions. Seriously, they don't deserve your business.

I'd give 3 stars for Technical capabilities, but Jimmy gets zero stars for having no integrity at all. Several times, I was promised service on a given date only to get radio silence on the day service was promised. And no follow-up for weeks at a time. Hired this contractor to pick up where another left off!! That's never the ideal situation. So I understood that the job would come with challenges. With fair pricing, this seemed like a good choice being there was competence. But I soon learned that what's promised, is far from what's delivered. He takes on way too many small jobs, and cannot keep promises with current jobs. I had Air & Water Solutions swap out a propane tankless water heater for an identical natural gas water heater. I was going to use the propane water heater in a different project. Jimmy promised to deliver the swapped water heater. I was out of state when he completed that job. And of course, I haven't seen the swapped out water heater. Asked Jimmy about it several times, the job was completed in Early March. He has ""no idea"". $1,000 stolen right from me.

Final straw, I needed an HVAC AC system upgrade in a pinch. He guarantees he can do the job for a fraction of what a brand new system would cost. Gives me an invoice for ""slightly used"" condensers, coils, heat pump, etc. This guy delivers, while I'm not there, three 15-20 year old USELESS condensers and lies and says he's delivered the coils, 1x Heat pump, etc and only has to run the line set. Promises me he'll do it by EOW. Then goes radio silent after receiving payment. I catch him 6 months later. He tells me he contracted COVID19, but he's now better and will install everything the next day. It's been 2 more months and he's now blocked my number!

I don't take any pleasure in writing a bad review for anyone. But this is a bad actor that can do serious harm. There are plenty reputable and RELIABLE contractors in the area. This one, I'd steer clear!

Jim and his crew helped replace a furnace unit very quickly for my family and I. Wee had a home warranty abd the first company thaT was sent was inept and couldn't fix it. Jim came and immediately addressed our issues, fought to get a new furnace delivered within 24 hours. He put it in the same day it arrived after going a week with below freezing temps outside

Thank you Mike and team

Following-up on my wife's review (Cece W.) ... The story continued ...

After getting the run-around from both sides for over and month and STILL having no working central air in our home ... I finally snapped and requested that the home warrantee company merge calls the next time they spoke to Air & Water Solutions and let me hear what is going on. They obliged. I was STUNNED to hear Jim telling the home warrantee company (unbeknownst to him that we were merged into the call), that my husband and I were making up the issue and just wanted a replacement unit. We never even knew that was an option, let alone necessary until his technician told us it was the next step!! He also claimed that he had photos of the thermostat in the house at 70 degrees, which also could not be accurate because the house hadn't dropped before 74 degrees on even the coolest day we had seen all summer AND my husband was present for 100% of the time Mike was servicing our house and never witnessed him take one photo of the thermostat. When I jumped into the merged phone call, Jim became deflective, began stammering, backing and filling his statements and broke all professionalism. It was classic ""getting caught with your pants down"". When I started debunking his lies one by one, he began shouting at our home warrantee case manager to ""send the call to another company who will just replace a unit for these people"". These people? We were nothing but kind. My husband exchanged personal numbers with Mike and we were unbelievably patient over the 6 weeks it took to get to this conversation. We are people who have been living all summer (one of the hottest on record in many years in CT) without working central air.

Jim is a liar and is filled with empty promises. Again, I hate to crucify anyone and pin a scarlet letter on their name but I have never been so disgusted by the treatment of a situation. My husband and I are therapists, mild-mannered and calm, rational people who demonstrate patience in even the most extenuating circumstances. To push us to this level is abominable. We will never do business with Air & Water Solutions LLC ever again and will continue to make sure we share our story with locals and neighbors to spread the word about this experience. If you are a looking for a company who provides honest support and livelihood in their business; look elsewhere. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation of a poor experience. So sorry to have to be so brutally honest. So sorry this experience was what it was.

If you go through my many Yelp reviews for other businesses over the past few years, I SELDOM (IF EVER) post a negative review about my experiences because I really like to give people the benefit of the doubt and understand that mistakes happen from time to time. I'm not too harsh of a judge and never want to degrade someone's business but I feel it is only necessary for the benefit of others considering the possibility of using this business to make sure my experience is heard.
My husband and I have a home warrantee purchased through an outside company. When we started having issues with leakage from our central air ducts in our basement, we had called the warrantee company and asked for a technician to come take a look. The company sent us the information for Air & Water Solutions LLC and entered a work order for them to come visit. The owner (Jim) contacted us right away to set-up an initial appointment. The first time out to our house, a technician named Mike (who was very kind), established that there were probably some issues with old pieces of the unit that were causing the leak. We waited a short time for parts to come in and he came back with his assistant and replaced everything to stop the leaking. We were very grateful. Unfortunately, the leaking continued and we called back to report to Mike that this issue persisted.
He said he would come back to look at something else that may be causing the leaks; which was totally fine. He came back and established that there was an issue where ice was hardening inside of our unit and refrigerant had to be added. When he did this, our central air duct appeared to stop leaking, so we were elated. Until we went to use the central air a couple of days later and realized that all of a sudden it wasn't working.
During a few of our hottest days of the summer (temperatures ranging from 86-100+ degrees), we attempted over and over to use the central air by setting the thermostat to 65 or 70 and hoping that it would drop our indoor temperature to make the weather even semi-tolerable. The lowest we ever got our home temperature down was to 84 degrees during this time. On days that the weather outside was warm but not ridiculous (typical 75-85 degree summer days), we would set the same temperature and the lowest we ever got it in the house was 74 degrees. Mike continued to maintain contact with my husband and assure him that he understood that there was a serious issue with the central air and that the outdoor unit was old and probably needed to be replaced to rectify everything. Since we were going through a home warrantee to cover cost however, they had to ""fight"" for the okay to do such a thing. Fine.
Over this 6 week time span, my husband and I went back and forth with our home warrantee company who told us that the contractors were staying they had fixed the problem. Then Mike would tell us that the company was reporting a replacement needed to be made to the outdoor unit but the warrantee company was giving the run-around. Mike told my husband explicitly that ""Jim was calling the home warrantee company to fight for us to get a new unit"" and that he would be back in touch as soon as he got word on that process. We were middlemen and we were getting more and more frustrated not understanding who was not telling the truth.
I then stepped in and contacted Air & Water Solutions and spoke to Jim (the owner) at least half a dozen times during this window for support. Jim was short and continued making empty promises that he would come out himself to investigate the situation but would never follow through; only sending Mike back. He would assert himself as the owner and insinuate Mike could have been mishandling and therefore as a more experienced professional, he would take the reigns ... but never did. I have text message and phone call exchanges to verify just how many times this type of correspondence took place.

Very quick to respond and resolved the issue very quickly and AC is back on. Just a little freon, new filter in the air handler and cleaning out the AC unit. Very happy with the work and speediness of the service call.

A week long heat wave just started and our a/c condenser unit outside wasn't running. On a Friday morning we called several area repair companies. No one could come out until Monday or up to a week later! I kept internet searching and called Jim at Air & Water Solutions. He was in his work van and pulled over to talk to me. He made an appt. for 12:30 that day and arrived on time. He troubleshooted the problem, which was water some how got into the electrical wiring from the outside breaker switch to the unit. He quickly replaced the wire and for $210 we were back in cool air! Jim is also a very nice man, even came here after being at the dentist to have a tooth pulled! Check out his website to see all the services he provides in Southwest CT. We will definitely call him again if we have any more need for his services. Prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous service at a good price! That is hard to find these days!

Amazing response time and highly professional. Jim keeps in contact with you by text message, and is very articulate and professional. He and his team installed and new board and 2 thermostats in less than an hour. He provided an accurate invoice upon completion of work. He even came out at 5 pm on a weekend!! He is supremely trust worth and a consummate professional. We intend to hire him again for more complicated work, and to use him for our rental properties. If ever service provider was as good as Jim then everyone would have 5 star experiences.

In addition, Jim was able to quickly diagnose the problem, and then ordered the material for the job so that it could be completed promptly upon our return from vacation. We live in a 2 story colonial with 3 zones, complicated with a wifi thermostat which Jim had no problem handling. We've had other professionals come fix the problem but no one else could do it and just gave us the runaround.

Jim gets 5 stars!!!
