Maybe this used to be good company, but it is not anymore. On Friday my 92 yo moms AC went out. She called them, as they had installed the whole system in 2009, making it only 5.75 yo at this point. It came with a 10 year parts & labor warranty. Air tech came out the next day (Saturday) and diagnosed the problem as the fan in the condensing (exterior) unit, only they denied the warranty; even though she showed them the cancelled check in their name for the whole amount ($5,200). They wanted $850 to install a simple fan that should have been under warranty.

I called another company & they confirmed that it was registered in her name & was under warranty. We bought a service policy from them to check the system twice a year & maintain it. Moral: don't deal with this company unless you want to get screwed!

I was a little concerned after reading the other Yelp reviews, which were mixed, but they had excellent reviews elsewhere so I decided to give them a try. So glad I did!

One of our A/C units had stopped cooling (it was still blowing air, just not cold air). I called around 10:30am on a Friday and was told a technician would be by between 11am and 2pm. The technician came by within an hour of my call! I was very impressed with the rapid service.

As other reviews had mentioned, I was concerned that they would just tell me that I needed to replace my A/C unit, but fortunately the technician found the issue to be a relatively inexpensive problem with the drain line and drain pans. He was able to schedule a crew to fix it the following day (Saturday) first thing in the morning.

The fee to come out was $129, but that was applicable to the cost of the repairs.

Would give a lower rating if that were possible. Called AirTech to come check on unit. They told us we had a freon leak and that the unit was operating with 10% freon levels. Recommended replacing entire unit, which is only 11 years old.

Got a second opinion. The second technician couldn't find freon leak after extended searching. Replaced the freon that had somehow leaked from the unit, came back a week later, and found that the level had stayed the same and A/C is working fine.

Stay far, far away.

A/C went out, and I called Air Tech on the recommendation of a friend who was pleased with their work and prices. They were able to come out the next day, but that is when it went south. Much like a couple of other reviews, I was charged a service fee to be told that my system was old and the entire thing needed to be replaced. Nothing have an extra $8K laying around to buy the new system, I called another company that came out at 8 pm that night and replaced a part in the dark to the tune of $300, and A/C is still going strong. Unfortunately it seems like Air Tech is just out to sell new systems and not correct the problem as cheaply as possible for the customer. I won't be calling them back nor recommending them.

We have used this company to replace two different A/C units in our home. They are always professional and do a great job with the installation. It's refreshing to find a company that goes the extra distance to make their customers happy. The key to this is good employees like Steve F. and Thomas!

Wow. It is a phenomenal relief to be able to write a review that isn't just good, it's resplendent. If this is TL;DR then I'll just say that the guys at Air Techs of Houston have been so amazing that I might even invite them for Thanksgiving Dinner. If include give 10 starts, I absolutely would.

Their knowledge, efficiency, professionalism and generosity is above and beyond what I've ever experienced before.

I'll start by saying that my husband has been in the hospital battling some serious issues. So, I was already totally stressed out and at my wits end when I picked up my three kids and brought them home to an AC Unit that was completely useless. I called my landlord who sent out two guys who replaced out Compressor Fan. The house cooled well enough the first night, but by the second night it was 95 degrees and not showing any signs of improvement. My landlord couldn't get anyone out tonight, and the heat was borderline dangerous. So, I called Air Techs of Houston to get emergency service.

First off, my call was immediately answered by an extremely sweet woman who was 100% upfront with the cost, the vehicle I should expect and the timeframe. Then, in the most surreal way, the guys showed up BEFORE they were supposed to! They immediately jumped up to where the AC is and began their diagnostics. In less than 30 minutes, I had detailed notes regarding the fact that my AC basically needed to be replaced. Since I'm a renter, and dealing with the piling medical bills from my husbands "event" the news was completely crushing. Obviously, I had to give a thanks but no thanks and start googling all the DIY ways to cool a house.

Then, the miracle happened. The guys who had just been at my house called me and told me that they would be back with a portable air conditioner. (Even after telling me that they'd let the standard after-hours fee slide) That way, my kids and I would at least have one cool room and wouldn't have to suffer for the night.

I can't say enough how touched I am with the customer service, professionalism and generosity I received. If you ever have an emergency, or are in need of repair, please call Air Techs of Houston. I can honestly say that you will not be sorry you did.

I choose Air Tech of Houston on the recommendation of a neighbor and I'm really happy with them so far. We had Joe for the quote and then Thomas for the installation. They were both very responsive and patient. Thomas had to come back a few times for fixing the vents and grills and the dampers. He was always nice and patient. Very good manners and very attentive to what I said. The AC works great so far, the quote was reasonable. They damaged a little bit a wall in a bathroom by pushing the ducts a little bit too hard in the attic, not their fault if the house is old and in "paper". They said that I can take who I want to make the repairs and they'll reimburse me. Very fair!
They do the maintenance also for $148 per year (check and filter change). I completely recommend them!

Yeah, I have to reduce my rating of these guys based on a second opinion that I got recently.

I had a feeling that my technician wasn't being honest with me, but now I have proof. I called another A/C company to come look at my system this year and they found no major issues. In fact, they said there's no reason why my system won't last another 5 years whereas the Air Tech Technician was making it seem like my unit was on the brink of death a year ago (in hopes that I would agree to replace it). We also went over pricing of a new unit and it was half the cost of what Air Tech quoted. I can understand a discrepancy, but not HALF.

I will not be calling them again - I don't have time to deal with companies that I can't trust. I have a feeling they would come down in price if I presented them with the new quote that I got, but I like companies to be up front with me and not try to squeeze every penny that they can out of me.

I had grown very tired and weary of dealing with my current AC& Heating company and finally decided to explore elsewhere. I first discovered Air Tech on Angies List and looked them up on Yelp. To my surprise there is a coupon/discount you can redeem from the online advert, but let me get to the much improved quality and handling of clients. They made sure they came prepared by bringing a variety of filters and the proper tools for the job. They were also very flexible in trying to squeeze me in a day earlier and did a good job of following up. Overall service and satisfaction was 5 stars and will be sure to use them as a repeat customer and encourage other to do the same.

I cannot stress how terrible this company is. Called them out to unclog a pipe coming from AC unit. The employee examined the attic and told me my entire AC unit needed to be replaced because it was rusted through and also we needed to install a new air vent in our upstairs hallway among other things. The quote was for $7,588.00. He charged me $129.00 for coming to the house. I called another company who unclogged the pipe for $150. I asked if anything was wrong with the unit or did anything need replacing. He said not at all, the AC unit works perfectly. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CRIMINALS.
