Air Stars used to call themselves CEC when I purchased my heat pump system from them. I was very happy with their performance. Since then though the quality of their service has steadily gotten worse. First I agreed to purchase a yearly service contract from them and allow them to deduct the cost from my bank automatically. They promised twice yearly inspection, cleaning and tuneup of my heat pump including Freon check, new air filter and mechanical service as needed. The first year was great.
Since then the quality of service has steadily declined. The no longer replace the air filter. I have to find and buy my own. It's been more than a year since i saw them check the Freon properly. Now the tech just opens up the air handler and outside unit, takes some pictures and does a quick electrical check then comes in with his iPad, shows me a dirty fan and outside housing and tries to up-sell me an additional cost cleaning service and push me to install additional electrical service protection.
Mostly Air Stars knows how to drain my bank while not providing the services promised when I signed up for their contract.

It turns out that my AC wasn't working because I did not know how to use the remote. Julian tested the unit and found it was working well. He patiently showed me how to set it on Cooling and spent time with my husband who also wanted to learn. Julian Lemus was friendly and polite. Good service!

So we arrived at a 'package' that included the furnace, the thermostat, and installation. It turns out that the thermostat had features that the furnace couldn't even use. (Zone heating, etc.) I asked for a replacement (less expensive, less complicated one that was a better match for the new furnace). Someone came out and changed the thermostat and it works fine. I asked the salesman if I could get back any of the difference in price (about $100 think). He said he'd ask his boss. I have not heard back from them. It's been about a month. Furnace works fine. No complaints there.

LATER: They took care of it. All good. But, they must have known that the more expensive thermostat was unnecessary. I guess they made a few more bucks. I doubt that I'll do much more business with them.

Called Sky Heating when my furnace stopped working. Cody was punctual and so professional. He thoroughly explained the problem and gave me specific costs and details about replacing the broken parts. He then offered a solution so that we hopefully will not have this same issue in the future. So glad we have Cody & Sky Heating watching out for us!
