Company Overview

We tackle the tricky issues that arise in your plumbing system! Is your sewer line frequently backing up? Regardless of whether it’s a septic, aeration, or sewer problem, we are equipped and knowledgeable to address your plumbing challenges.

We provide pumping services for septic tanks, aeration systems, and grease traps. We employ standard snake rooter machines or sewer jetters to clear your drains. Unsure about the location of your drain issue or septic tank? Contact us; we can deploy our sewer camera to identify the problem.

Affordable Waste Services, a family-operated company, was started in 1986 by my father, Dale Townsend. Before 2017, we primarily served Licking County. We saw significant growth from 2013 to 2017, prompting us to expand into Muskingum, Knox, Perry, and Fairfield counties in 2017. In 2018, we added Franklin County to our service area.

While expanding into Perry County, we found that another business called Affordable Septic was already established in the area. To prevent any mix-ups, we decided to rebrand from Affordable Septic to Affordable Waste Services, along with our DBA, Afforda-A-Rooter.

I hail from Newark, Ohio. I completed my service in the U.S. Army between 1993 and 1997. In 2002, I acquired the company from my father.
