John was a bit late but was on the phone with me on time. He was having a bit of trouble finding my house as many people do. When he arrived he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and got right to work. After running a snake through my drain it was still plugged. He had to redo all his work three times. The quote for the job was for about an hours work. Even though the job took almost three hour John stayed with the one hour quote. I'm retired and get a monthly check so this was a much appreciated break. I will defiantly call them again.

I'm generally handy around the house so I tried many things including attempting to flush out the clog by dumping boiling water down the drain, using baking soda and vinegar mix and dismantling the drain and snaking the pipe myself... One trip to Menards, three hours and a sore back later finally I gave in and decided to contact a plumber.

I called several plumbers including one plumber that was highly referred by friend. I was told by that company they would charge me double-time due to the weekend and suggested I call back Monday. I called back 8:30 am on Monday and they told me they were fully booked for the next two days and they would call me back if they could fit me in.

The last place I called was Affordable Sewer and Water for the St. Paul area (I live in Maplewood) the operator was professional and gave me and quote which was aproimately $70 cheaper than all the quotes I received that morning plus they were able to schedule me right away so I set an appointment for that afternoon.

My Drain is now free of clogs after the plumber used his 60-foot power snake to clear it out. After all of this I still haven't heard back from the two companies who said they would call back. The plumber was conscious and respectful of my house and put on boot coverings and didn't leave any mess whatsoever. I'm completely satisfied with the service Affordable Sewer and Water has provided, they communicated their fees clearly and efficiently performed the job. I will contact Affordable Sewer and Water first next time I have plumbing needs.

Matt (the owner) was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He was honest and presented the problem in a very understandable way. He responded to our call immediately and took care of our drain problem very fast. We had a great experience and would defiantly use him again. Highly recommended.

BAIT AND SWITCH! I had Matt work another job earlier and I would give him 5 stars for. The 2nd job he did was replace a sewage pump in my basement. Matt quoted us either the cheap, medium or expensive pump. We chose the most expensive option. The installer showed up on time and did a great job.

I looked up the Serial number on the pump from the box and found out it's worth about $300 which is about the cheapest pump on internet. After we contacted him, he said sorry and would issue the difference. Found out it was only $180! Were still trying to contact him to find out how that can be.

Originally, he quoted us about a $400 dollar difference between the cheapest and most expensive pumps.

The owner, Matt, did an excellent job. He was very professional, took the time to answer questions, and was very punctual. Both visits he said he would be there at 9AM and both times he was exactly on-time. In the past I have called the bigger guys with flashy vans and been left waiting...and waiting...and eventually the 2 hour window turns into more like three or four hours.

I will be using Matt and his team for all my plumbing needs in the future!
