I tried using Big Bear Mechanical for a time-sensitive plumbing job. I scheduled an appointment. I thought they were coming out to do the plumbing work that I requested. When they arrived, they told me that they were only there to look at what needed to be done so that they could provide an estimate. I never got the estimate. I called back in to schedule an appointment. (Since it was a time-sensitive job, I didn't really care how much it was going to cost.) Set up an appointment. On the day of my appointment, they called and said they were still working on another job and needed to reschedule. I set up a new appointment for the following morning. I called in that morning and was told they would be there between noon and 4p. When they hadn't shown up by 3p, I called in again. I was then told that they wouldn't be able to get the job done that day and offered to reschedule again for 2 days later. I would never recommend Big Bear Mechanical to anyone. My opinion is that they were unprofessional and unreliable. I called a different plumber and they were there in an hour performing the work that I needed completed that day.

We wanted to get a second estimate for running a gas line to our existing fireplace. They came out and said they could do the job and would email an estimate. Waited 2 weeks and no email. Called them and the woman who answered the phone looked us up and said an estimate had not been done and she would talk to the project manager and get back to us. That was 2 weeks ago. No phone call. A month now and no estimate. Sounds like they didn't think the job was worth the effort. Our first bid was $1000. I would assume that they would be approximately the same, more or less. I guess $1000 is a small job and not worth the effort. We would have appreciated some honesty from this company stating they wouldn't do the job rather than stringing us along for 4 weeks. Going back to the other company and paying the $1000.

Our A/C went out yesterday. I started a Yelp Service request and Big Bear was the first to respond with a Yelp message to call them. They answered their phone after regular business hours and got us on the schedule for later in the week. They called this morning to let us know they could move us up to this afternoon. They diagnosed, gave a quote, got the parts, returned a few hours later to complete the repair. Actual cost was less than the quote!! It was a big repair, we needed 7 lbs of expensive Freon, but our A/C is fixed in less than 24 hours from the time of our request. So happy. Very nice technicians and office staff. Thank you Big Bear!!

Great work, got swamp cooler fixed in one day, answered all questions and was fairly priced. Will be having them out to winterize the cooler later this year.

Nick, Austin and Adam are the best. Our AC just decided it wanted to act up Friday night. We have a 2/10 Warranty and they contracted out the work to Big Bear. I called first thing Saturday morning. While they couldn't come out till Monday morning, they did. offer some advice in the meantime. Monday morning big Adam and Austin came out and within one hour had located & repaired the first issue. They would need Nick to help out the next day and put in the work order. 2/10 decided they wanted to farm it out to another company for the electrical but I called them to keep Big Bear. Nick came out and within 1 hour had the issue fixed and now I'm sitting in cold AC once again.

If you need your AC worked on, these are the guys. Hands down. Give them your business and you won't regret it.

Thank you for all your help, I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful company that actually care for their customers. They were patient with my situation and as soon as I was able to have my water heater replaced this company wastes no time on making it happen. From beginning to end their customer service was right on! I recommend Big Bear Mechanical for all your HVAC needs.

Finally made the jump to refrigerated air. Worth the change over so far but haven't seen my latest electrical bill...
These guys and gals make sure you have everything you need to make the switch. They hauled away the old swamp cooler and patched up the hole on the roof. Small company so they make get send different guys to work on the system but they all are knowledgeable and they are there until it's done.

In the middle of the day my refrigerated air unit stopped working and the house got very hot. This company was quick to respond to my messages and was able to get someone to come the very next morning. The technician who showed up, Jeremy, was friendly and was able to educate me on the system I have without being condescending, which I really appreciate. I will keep using them in the future if I need any other services.

I would not recommend this company. I called them to check a leak I had coming from my furnace and they told me everything was okay and that there was absolutely no leak. I continued to smell gas coming into my vents so I called Affordable Services for a second opinion and they immediately detected the gas leak coming from my furnace.
