Rich is an old-school handyman who can do any home project from painting, to drywall, electrical, and plumbing work.  Rich recently remodeled my powder room, and when he found an uneven subfloor, he found a way to make it even so he could lay a new floor. His problem solving skills are excellent, and his work is meticulous.  I highly recommend Rich if you want top- notch work.

I called Affordable Pro Services to see if they could help me get the correct dryer plug receptacle installed for a new dryer that I had purchased. I spoke with Rich, and he was not only able to come out on the same day, but he showed professionalism and empathy to my situation. He was able to get me up and running within 1 hour, despite running into several safety and code issues. His focus was ensuring that the job was done and done only once; he resolved all safety and code issues while explaining to me what he was doing. Their name, Affordable Pro Services, is not a mistake - the job itself did not cost an arm and a leg! Rich also demonstrated Pro Services level of accountability when it was discovered that I had an electrical issue later in the day. He was back out to diagnosis the issue and quickly determined it was a bad breaker which he fixed on the spot.

Rich is awesome. I called him and walked him through one of the projects I'm trying to get done at the house. He said he could definitely do it, but due to the scope it might save me a little money to hit up someone else. He gave me a feel for some projects that he could save me some money on, which I have in the queue, and I'll definitely call him for. To top it off, he gave me a ton of advice that probably would have cost me a fortune elsewhere! Real down to earth guy - I look forward to giving him my business in the future.

We needed to install an outdoor A/C for our home, but it was necessary to remove a door and frame to make space for the unit. Rich carefully de-constructed the door and frame and saved all the parts. With the door and frame removed, the A/C contractor had a enough room to complete the installation. Rich re-installed the frame and door which worked perfectly. He noticed a couple of places on the door that needed a touch-up and took care of it. I've used Rich a number of times and he has always been helpful and prompt. I highly recommend him.

I was so embarrassed when my kid broke the exposed pipe in the backyard of my friends' house. Rich came over within 10 minutes and assessed the problem. He put a temporary block on the pipe and gave me a reasonable estimate for repairing the damage. It was easy to work with Rich. He was willing to explore all possible solutions.
Recently my toilet was leaking because of a problem with the height of our tile floor. Rich kept our appointment time! Rich gave me an estimate to replace the toilet and explained how he carefully moves toilets out of the house in a sanitary way. He is excellent!

Rich got back to me within 30 minutes or so, we discussed the issue, I sent him some pics and got a really affordable, reasonable quote that was a good deal lower than some of the other plumbers on Yelp.
He came out within a couple days and replaced our clogged and corroded piping and hauled it away (for a small dump fee).
10/10 would use again.

I had a hole in the ceiling of my bathroom due to a leak from my upstairs neighbors. Rich repaired it. He did a quality job at a good price. While on the job, he made sure to communicate clearly what he was going to do, and he set good expectations. He also gave me helpful advice on other home improvement things that I was thinking about, which I appreciated.

I'm happy with Rich's work and I plan on contacting him in the future for other projects.

I hate five star only contractors. Their reviews seem so fake. So here is my true story. Rich was recommended to me by a somewhat flaky handyman in SF after he had to leave town. Surprisingly Rich was 100x more consistent than the first guy. He showed up on time, was a FAR better painter, and the work didn't look like I had decided to try doing it myself, like it sometimes did with my first guy.

I'm hoping he sticks around the Bay Area because if you live here you know the few good ones vaporize regularly!

Rich replaced a toilet, removed a pedestal sink, and will install a vanity. I preferred to wait for the final vanity installation because I wanted the perfect pipe extension, which wasn't the one I had purchased. Rich was happy to accommodate me so he will stop by again later this week. He was very efficient and very careful. When the sink was removed, we noticed the drywall was in bad shape behind it, so he repaired the section that was damaged. He knows how to drywall very well (he started at a young age), so it was fast and very very neat. After dealing with really bad handymen whose work I have had to correct myself, it is a pleasure to see a qualified professional do things properly, for a reasonable price, and willing to answer all my questions. I fully recommend Affordable Professional Services.
The next project was to bring dryer venting and plumbing up to code for my new dryer. It required many pieces, strategizing, and lots of work. Rich stayed till very late to finish the work. The result is amazing. What was a sorry sight and completely not up to code (shutoff valves inside the drywall!!) is now tidy, with easy-access valves, and safe, quality finishes. I am delighted with the results.
Do not hesitate to hire Rich. He is on time, clean, always responds to emails or calls very promptly and is good at communicating with/educating the client. I learned loads from him, which will allow me to tackle the very simple tasks myself.
He is so so good at his job! There is a new sheriff in town!
