Affordable Plus Plumbing
Company Overview
Toilet fix. No renovation. I acquired experience at a plumbing company in my hometown of Cliffside, N.J., mastering the trade and materials. I finished my training and licensing in 1980 to start my own plumbing company. I started my company with just a vehicle and a collection of tools, helping locals. I dedicated myself to building connections with clients and suppliers to secure a better future for my 6 kids and wife. I advanced my business by bringing on a young technician and guiding them, leading to three of my former employees opening their own businesses. I dedicate my business on integrity, honesty, and offering my prices lower than the competition. I now have nine kids and 7 grandkids, and I aspire to leave them with a meaningful legacy.

Ok so here's the update......They must have either read the complaints on here or just got better employees. The technician that came out was on-time, nice, and got the job done. We haven't had any issues. Overall happy with the service and glad that they didn't prove to be a half-rate biz like a lot of the revues on here stated. Would I use them again...not too sure unless I have to go through my warranty company.

VERY BAD experience with this plumber. He is rude, does not listen and is quite demanding. Richard the owner was contracted by American Home Shield to replace a faulty Hot Water Heater and to bring it to code. Aside from the payment received from AHS, I was charged an additional $580 to complete the installation. I asked him for an itemized bill and he stated he would not give it to me. I suggested I wouldn't pay him unless I understood the breakout; so I could review with Home Shield as part of my contractual agreement. He finally agreed and presented me with an explanation of charges- which included a $140 Permit charge to get the work inspected by the city. Two weeks after the installation, I had to call him on several occasions to remind him of the city approval/permit that I paid for. He finally sets the appointment with the City after the third reminder. Upon inspection - the city failed the installation and did not issue a permit. I was told that the hot water heater was connected incorrectly to the second heater; causing the second heater to act as a reservoir only. That meant that the new heater would be overworked to compensate for the other. I notified Richard of the issue reported by the City Inspector and was told that the inspector was an idiot and he would have someone else come out to perform the inspection. Furthermore, he stated that he installed it exactly the way it was before and if I wanted to change it - I would have to pay him an additional fee. As part of the installation, he should have known whether it was installed correctly and if there were an issue - he should have brought it to my attention at the time of service. Two months pass and I call him back regarding the failed permit and he insists that the installation is good and he will not perform any additional work on the project. I ask that he work with the city in order to get a passing permit and he refuses to do so.

poor customer service they tell you a time window and dont meet it,they tell you they will call you back and dont ,father daughter office so daddy listens to the daughter over the customer be warned they will tell you they can do the job then wont be able to do the work and when you call and ask questions they get defensive and belligerent

I am embarrassed that Richard runs his company this way. I called and spoke to him to give him the opportunity to make things right. He gave excuses and false reasons why his company provided poor service. This is why I have filed a case in small claims court (Justice of the Peace) against him and his company. I will let you know what the judge decides since Richard places all blame to everyone else. I gave him the opportunity to make it right, he declined. See you in court, sir.

So, my home warranty company contracts with these guys to fix a gas leak. Hey, it's a gas leak so I have to shut down the entire system so I don't blow my house up. No gas = no hot water, no cooking of the food and such and I like to be clean and not hungry so this is not cool. You know, you get the drill. I call them and say, hey, can you help a guy out 'cause Mrs. Kendall G is not a fan of cold showers...they say "sorry, late tomorrow afternoon is about as early as we can get to you", OK cool I think, Austin is a busy place. Laaaaate the next day the so called Master Plumber (Richard, I think) calls and I explain the problem. "Uhhh, we are a small company and that job sounds too big for us. We'll call your warranty company and decline the job." WTF?! 48 hours later and you decide it's too big. Perhaps you should spend your time fixing toilet tank flappers instead of doing actual plumbing work. Hacks. I'll change the toilet tank flapper myself and won't be calling them.

We called these guys after 1700 on Friday of Labor Day weekend, and they came straight out to see about a leak on what we thought was our side of the water meter...we dug the hole before they'd arrived and realized we had no clue what to do when it kept leaking into it (we're talking shop vac times a dozen times and water STILL kept coming in). Their recommendation, after pulling bucket after bucket of water out, as well as digging more of the hole, was to call the City of Georgetown, because the job even perplexed them.
When asked what we owed for having them come out at such a late hour on a holiday weekend, we were told, "Not a dime."
They have our forever business for being upfront and honest and amazing people.
(btw, it turns out it is, indeed, the City's issue, so Legend Oaks will be without water for a period of time on Tuesday...)

We had what I thought was a leaking hot water heater. Anthony came out and said that the unit wasn't leaking and I thought "uh oh, another home warranty nightmare". My experience has been that most home warranty vendors would have demanded their trip fee and walked away. Instead, Anthony went to work and didn't even make me feel bad for mistaking the leak for the water heater. Without skipping a beat, Anthony went on to track down the source of the leak (drain line) and had it repaired in no time. He initially couldn't locate the drain line outside but grabbed a shovel and started digging. Not only did he resolve our leak, he went on to recommend easy solutions for a couple of items that could potentially cause a problem down the road. He also took time to explain everything to my Spanish speaking tenants. Fabulous work ethic, knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you Anthony.

Fantastic customer service. Very reasonable pricing. Was told exactly what I was going to pay before the work started. I highly recommend Affordable Plus Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs. They repaired a toilet that wasn't running, a toilet that wouldn't stop running and a leaky shower.

Over the last few years, Richard and Anthony have replaced my faucets, broken water line, hot water heater and bathtub. They do a good job and have fair pricing.

They showed up on time, did a great job. I owuld recommend them and will hire them again if needed.
