I am beginning my 30th year as a Realtor in Kansas City, and Affordable Plumbing and Sewer has been and are my go to company for sewer line inspection/repair for at least the last 10 years. Rick, Jeff, Penny, Colby,Randy have been nothing but helpful, honest, ""johnny on the spot"" to assist me in getting an inspection scheduled, a written estimate or completing the job. Heck in the early years Rick finished a job on Christmas eve, after 6pm. I am forever in his debt for this type of service. I appreciate the whole crew. Have referred them, and will continue to do so. They are a great company, with a great group of people running it. Happy with everything they do.

I guess I will post here also! I wrote a bad review on google and instead of trying to fix it he deleted it.

Friends of ours had some work completed by this company and had to use our plumber to make this right. We are pretty sure it was the owner of the company, we were told he was very unprofessional. His name was rick, our friends were grosly over charged and they also were told by our plumber the issue was made worse my affordable. Please shop else where they are unlicensed and uneducated and most of all unprofessional.

Over the years, I have relied on Affordable Plumbing not only for my clients needs but for my personal house and my rental properties as well. Ric and his team are some of the hardest working people I know, they are honest, reasonably priced, and will give you plenty of options for whatever your plumbing situation is! I couldn't recommend him enough!

On 8/6/2020, as I was driving home, I was almost run into by one of their trucks, #232. I observed the driver serving in and out of traffic with a missing driver side mirror, including cutting off a semi truck and trailer, causing the truck driver to slam on his breaks. I called and reported the driver to their office and also called Highway Patrol due to the dangerous driving.

When the office opened on 8/7/2020 I received a phone call from someone who made many excuses for the driver's behavior and action. I did not accept the excuses and was yelled at for being unreasonable. I hung up on the person at which point he called back several times to argue that I was wrong for complaining, at which point I stopped answering the phone.

Driver was dangerous and Office didn't care and tried to tell me I was wrong for reporting them.

We Purchase a new property and the basement drain would not drain. We did not wanna spend a lot of money and we saw a truck advertising $99 to clear any drain. I called them they came out cleared the drain for $99 it was very affordable like the name of the company. They even threw in a few extra parts. We gave the technician some money for a soda.

Horrible company. Took 3 calls to correct bid. They were 40 min late, and came without supplies. Caught him on his phone. 30 min late getting back with supplies. I couldnt wait any longer and left. I called to say work unacceptable and I was going to find a different plumber. Then they were mad they left tools in the house. I said I'd be back in an hour. They wanted sooner and threatened to call police! I left work, drove 45 min back to house to get them their tools. And come to find out they turned off water to the house from the street out of spite. Just horrible.

beware-
be careful! i would not trust this company! they are scam artists! i was told that i needed my main line replaced- for any homeowner the last thing you want to hear! frantic... i called for a second opinion. my line was not broken! saved me $4700!
also the man was pushy and appeared to be on drugs.
be warned- save your time sanity and money and stay away!

To make a long story short, I hired Affordable Plumbing to do work on my home because the buyer's agent for our home sale wanted us to use them. They did the initial inspection and recommended the work that needed to be done. My wife and I hired them to do that work and here is where our trouble started. Matt, our technician, called me saying he was at an address 30 minutes away (obviously an office error) then accused me of doing something wrong. When he arrived at my house he apologized and got to work. When he finished, he told me my sewer line had been cleaned and that he had confirmed it with a video scope. Our buyer needed a recording of the video scope, which we did not receive from Affordable plumbing, so they hired them again to come out and rescope. This time the technician, Jeff, said that the lines were not only not clean but hadn't even been cleared of major obstructions. He could not even get to the main sewer pipe. When I called to ask about receiving a refund, Kim, the office manager, was extremely professional but (after several conversations) said that her boss was unwilling to give us a full refund. I insisted on a full refund because they did not do the work we hired them to do. Instead of speaking with me, the owner, Rick, called my wife. He was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. He also decided that he would not give us any refund at all. We have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and hope that this review will help any others out there choose a company that has the dignity to do the right thing when their work is unsatisfactory.

We were very happy with our experience with Affordable Plumbing! Matt replaced our bathroom sink faucet, installed our new dishwasher, and made some changes to our kitchen plumbing to work with the new dishwasher. He was very efficient and thorough and took the time to explain everything to us.

His prices were very reasonable! After he left, we called him with a question and he was very nice to answer it thoroughly in a timely manner. My ONLY complaint was that he did show up a little late, but I wouldn't choose to work with anyone else. Thanks for a great job!

Rick came out with his crew to fix our collapsed sewer lines and was very professional and explained the whole process as he did it. He did a great job and was VERY QUICK. I will not call anyone else for any of my plumbing needs he has a great price for his work!!!!
