They did a good job initially (installing a sump pump in my basement bathroom). This happened in May 2021, and last month (just 6 months later...), it failed and we are unable to use that bathroom. I have followed up with Duane 4 times via email and twice via phone/voicemail and have heard nothing. The kicker is I would totally pay for service, I get that things aren't always predictable. Just really disappointing.

Not pleased with the work - multiple things had to be redone. At one point, the shower plumbing was installed wrong and we had no hot water - it took 2.5 weeks for them to come back... and Duane felt no urgency to fix this and made it seem like it was our water heater that was broken, not his plumber's shoddy ""skills"". Turns out, the plumber did the job wrong. He also installed the sink drain wrong and it leaked all over our brand new cabinets. We were fed up, and hired a completely different plumbing company to do the rest of the work.

I had Affordable Plumbing install a new toilet in our company bathroom, and they were on-time, professional, reasonably priced, and cleaned up after themselves. No leaks or drips, and everything works great! Apparently they go all over the northwest and Seattle areas, so if you need the best plumber or just a new toilet, give them a call.

He has done work for me three times. The first time he replaced a toilet and charged less then his estimate over the phone. Great job that time.

After the second time a couple years ago, I needed a value replaced in a toilet. I called him three times, talked to him once and left messages 2 times. Could not get him to return call or come out to do repair. I ended up using the husband of a friend.

I liked him so well the first time that I gave him one more chance. Called him this spring to replace the leaking water value on line into toilet. He did repair, charging me $200, seemed high but i didnt say anything and wrote him a check. He marked ""tested"" on the bill but he had not actually tested the toilet's operation after the repair. I tried the toilet just after he left and it was emptying very slowly.

I have called him three more times leaving messages trying to get him out to address the slow toilet issue. The last time I asked him to just call back, leave a message and give me the name of someone else who could finish the repair. He has never called back. This is the first review I have ever left. I am so disappointed with Duane Mach and Affordable Plumbing that I had to leave a review.

I contacted Duane based on his Yelp and Angie's List reviews. However, I had a totally different experience. He turned out to be the nightmare I didn't want, in the first place. He is very unprofessional. He came to my house to give me an estimate. First, I had to ask him to take his shoes off as he was getting ready to walk on my carpet that I had just paid over $500 to clean. The good folks I usually hire, make it a point to either take their shoes off or cover them up.
We got up early on a holiday weekend to meet with him and everything. He gave us an estimate and set up an appointment to come out to do the work 10 days later. Then, I called and left him a message as another toilet had broke and needed to see how it would impact the estimate. He never called me back until I actually called him again. Mind you the same had happened when I called to set up the estimate appointment. These are red flags I should not have ignored.
The day Duane was supposed to come out and do the work, he was a NO SHOW. I changed my scheduled and worked from home that day and he had the nerve to not show up. We had to wait 10 days with non-working toilets and he didn't even show up. I called him to find out if he planned on showing up and I got his voice mail box again, as always. He called me back later and left a message with some lame excuse. In case you didn't realize Duane, we are people with important jobs and we do not have time for your shenanigans! As a matter of fact no one does. Have respect for human beings. Period!

I, then, decided to do my homework and talked to several other plumbing companies. I found out that it would have been a bad investment to replace just the parts in these toilet as the brand had been discontinued due to its low quality and that even finding the parts would have been an issue. Geez... maybe that's why Mr. Duane decide to be a NO SHOW. I don't know.. and I don't even care.

I finally decided to invest in some great Toto toilets and the awesome plumber I ended up hiring made some really good money. The guy showed up the same day! He will be my plumber for life.

As for you, Duane, you and your wrench can go have several seats!

I've had Duane at Affordable Plumbing Services to my home on several occasions over the last five years: sump pump install, water damage to wall/carpet, toilet install, sink/drain issues. Each time he has been very professional, courteous and respectful of my home and time. He listens and fixes my problems. He is also quick to help over the phone if it's a DIY project question and for a guy like me, the un-handy-man, having him as a trusted resource to help in my plumbing needs is comforting. I highly recommend him.

I have found my plumber! Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I contacted Affordable Plumbing (and Duane) for a bad kitchen drain blockage. He was at my place the next day, on time (and called to let me know where he was because of traffic). Extremely knowledgeable about his craft, courteous, clean and thorough. Clog was gone in less than an hour, and he was very reasonably priced. I can very comfortably say that this is a fantastic plumber and very much worth your consideration when you need someone honest, thorough and trustworthy.

No more flipping through the yellow pages choosing a random plumber! Affordable plumbing services is prompt, friendly, experienced, and easy to work with. They installed a couple under sink water filtration systems for me and did a great job. They kept my kitchen clean, worked quickly and efficiently and were honest with pricing.
