Company Overview

Aero Energy, founded in 1929, is an employee-owned firm that delivers various services for residential and commercial clients, including propane, heating oil, gasoline, and diesel fuel. Our offerings extend to a variety of home services, such as HVAC, bathroom remodeling, plumbing, and electrical services. With more than 90 years of expertise, our professionals guarantee you receive top-notch service at competitive rates. Aero Energy is the preferred choice for homeowners in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware due to our first-rate customer service, beneficial programs, and competitive pricing.

The inception of Aero Energy took place in 1929, sparked by an idea on a golf course in Caledonia, leading to the establishment of our first service station in New Oxford, PA. A little over a month later, the U.S. stock market collapsed. Despite the challenges of a new business during such a turbulent period, Aero Energy managed to grow through the stock market crash, World War II, and the energy crisis of the 1970s. What has driven this expansion? Upholding the same value our founder, David DeTar, articulated many years ago: ""Depend on us for those who depend on you."" Aero Energy has expanded to 9 locations in Pennsylvania and Maryland over the years, proudly delivering a wide array of heating fuel and HVAC services to residential and commercial clients. In 2001, we joined forces with energy companies in southern PA and MD to broaden our service capabilities. Count on us as your dependable partner for fuels and associated services, any time of day. Looking ahead to the next 90 years of service, we are excited to keep serving you!

My parents used Aero for their heating oil at this house, so when I moved in to take care of my elderly father, I continued service with them. I have had nothing short of an excellent experience with them. The oil delivery guys have always been friendly. I've called for urgent service both during working hours and after they closed and never had a problem getting service quickly. They even call ME to remind me to schedule the check up that my contract covers. I called late in the afternoon yesterday after discovering water on the floor, seemingly coming from my furnace. Ruth accurately diagnosed the issue over the phone and within an hour, Don S was at my door, fretting about walking on my carpet with his work boots (after working on the wet basement floor, he insisted on going out the basement and walking around the house to his truck). He went the extra mile to make sure that the problem wouldn't happen again. Every tech who has come to our rescue has been equally professional. There are plenty of oil delivery/furnace maintenance companies available around here. For me, the customer service provided makes all the difference.

Ive been with Aero Energy since 2000 and have had many bad experiences. I unfortunately I had a tank buried so I'm stuck with Aero unless i want to pay for the value of the tank. New Years Day 2018 I woke up to no heat, it was in the twenties. I got online and found that I had a $1.47 balance that I hadn't paid. I called the 800# with no answer, was on hold for an hour while freezing. I had to go buy space heaters so my pipes wouldn't freeze. Tried numerous time to reach someone on the emergency phone line, couldn't reach anyone. The next day I finally got ahold of someone to find out the they had an issue with there phones on new years day. What kind of business would not find it weird that there was not one phone call for propane or service and not check to see if there was an issue with the phones. I talked to someone at Aero the next day and they admitted that they made an error and still gave me Attitude like it was my fault. I didn't receive propane till 2 pm that day, wouldn't deliver in till I paid $1.47. Delivery guy said that what happened to me was wrong. I personally think propane companies should be regulated by the state so they are held responsible for this kind of situation!

Similar to Mindy's review, had issues accessing account online, missed payments totaling a relatively small amount and ran out of gas. Wife has been home, working taking care of others without heat or cooking ability for 9 days. Have contacted 'customer service' several times and literally been outright LIED to! Last Saturday, was told Wednesday, on WED was told Thursday and yesterday was told today ""tentatively"" by a 'service' rep who simply did not care to help!

Unlike Mindy, we've been customers for 9 years and have always paid all bills, late fees and interest charges in addition to the 'perpetual lease' on our tank and the higher per gallon rate because of a leased tank!

New to the area and need an LP supplier? Think twice here!

TODAYS FUEL PRICES - Areo charged me $2.34/9 A GALLON! No wonder when I had my furnace fixed and told them I got my fuel at Aero that they laughed at me and said ""let me know if you ever want to save a ton of money.""

Countryside Fuel Oil - $1.82 / gallon
Stover Fuel Oil - $2.07 / gallon
Hummestown Fuel Oil - $2.10 / gallon
Capital City Oil - $2.14 / gallon

Also Call - Peggy's Fuel Oil

I switched after a few years of using Aero. At first I bought a house and just wanted heat. Then, after a few years, I realized I was getting destroyed on their price. Hummelstown Fuel Oil, Countryside Fuel Oil (the cheapest), and... well, basically every other company was cheaper. Not just cheaper. DRASTICALLY cheaper. Possibly hundreds of dollars every couple months kind of cheaper.

I let my fixed price contract expire. I did not ask for another delivery or sign up for a new plan. I let it go and went with someone else who was MUCH, MUCH cheaper. They still delivered fuel and left a bill! I complained to them and the Better Business Bureau. Not over the money... that was nothing. I was just disgusted with how they operated and felt it warranted a complaint. They still wanted their tiny $54 (they must be hurting for money). After I said I'd pay, then the future deliveries were FINALLY cut off. I paid it just to get them to go away forever... but talk about horrible customer service. I wonder how long they'll be around if they're bickering over $54. Especially after I was charged crazy fuel prices for 3 years. If you're in their area - call around. EVERYONE else is cheaper as far as I checked. Make sure to try Countryside Fuel Oil!

My husband and I moved to the PA area in September 2015. We had received a lot of welcome information when we moved, one of the items being a first time customer special for fuel oil with a fixed rate for fuel for signing up with them( Aero Energy). I called the representative who was friendly and arrived at our home the following day to check our furnace and provide info with regards to the different types of plans available.

We selected the budget billing plan in which we were to pay a set amount each month and were told that we would receive the information regarding our contract within a couple of days. We did not. I had to call several times when we were low on fuel oil about the contract and when we would be scheduled for a delivery. That should have been the first sign that there may be issues down the line. The second should have been that they only put the service in my husband's name em rather than both outer names which had been requested...

Once deliveries were received, a delivery ticket would be left at the door with the amount of fuel delivered. An invoice would then be sent via email with an amount due - this amount was never the amount of our budget billing. Additionally, when I did make a payment online, it was not properly applied to the services being received and I had to call to get it applied to the services for which I was paying. The billing continued to be an issue so why I decided to add their propane delivery service for our outdoor fireplace is beyond me...(well I actually thought it would be easier to have one bill instead of two. Go figure.)

When going to make a payment on a Friday, I had checked my email and saw that our delivery service had been suspended and an amount of approximately $1,300 was due to reinstate our service!!! Naturally I was shocked and concerned. I called to speak with the individual who sent the email - Mr. Raymond Gambrill III and left a message that same day. I did not receive a call back. I figured it was a little after 2 that afternoon and I'd hear something by Monday.

Monday passed along with Tuesday. On Wednesday after not having heard back, I sent an email to the rep stating that the billing had been a continued issue and I wanted to resolve it prior to making any payment. He did respond that same afternoon...

I was taken aback by how poorly I was treated. First, he was adamant that there was nothing that could be done. I was removed from the budget billing for being one month behind on our billing, and the total amount was due In order to have our delivery service restored. He had several smart alec comments such as, ""paying your bill shouldn't be that hard. It should be straight forward."" And ""You're a new customer and have not paid your bill on time..."" etc. even after I had explained that following the billing information THEY provided and trying to reconcile that to the information online has been the biggest pain in my ass and I was unable to follow it. It really shouldn't have been that difficult...hell I'm an accounting major for crying out loud.

It wasn't until HE started going through all of the information within my file and COULDN'T FOLLOW IT EITHER, was he finally willing to work with some people in his office to get it straight before coming back to me with the correct budget billing information. Apparently the new customer is supposed to be all-knowing???

The following day a very nice lady (Deb I think) called to set up the payments. She also took note that we were low on fuel oil and had us scheduled for delivery within a couple of days. (This is the only reason they are getting two stars instead of one).

I am hoping that the issue is now resolved, and the billing will be clear moving forward...we'll have to see with the billing for next month...

All I know is that when my contract with Aero Energy is up, I definitely will not be going with them for fuel oil or propane delivery service. If this is how their new customers are treated, I don't want to know how their old/existing customers are treated.

Update: 6/2/2016

Since Peggy got everything squared away, everything has gone smoothly - from receipt of the invoice to making the payments online, it is finally all clear and easy to read! I still won't be going with this company at the end of our contract term, but did want to report that everything has finally been resolved.

Got a better estimate from them and they came to the appointment on time and installed everything beautifully. Made up for the headache when trying to schedule with them.
