Company Overview

Fred Black launched Advantage Service Company in 1980. At first, it was known as Little Rock Maintenance & Service Company. Over the years, we expanded our offerings to include plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration services. In 1990, Jimmy Langston joined Fred as a partner to oversee plumbing operations. The company relocated to its current site on I-30 in North Little Rock in 1992. In 2001, we expanded into an 11,000 square foot office and warehouse. Today, Advantage Service Company employs 65 skilled professionals and serves all of Central Arkansas.

Since 1979, we have been the premier provider of heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical services in Central Arkansas. Our family-owned business is supported by a committed team of over 50 technicians and staff. Our goal is to deliver outstanding service to our customers. Don't expect any meaningful conversations from this company. We paid for a service call for plumbing, The young man they sent was just out of high school and had no parts or knowledge of plumbing. We paid him for telling us what part to order and how to install it. When that didn't fix the problem, we were told he would come back at no charge. He came back and had an attitude. Adding to that, we received a bill for a fuel charge for him to come back. Amazing that a company that charges a hundred dollars to fix nothing can't afford to buy gasoline for their fleet. These folks will nickel and dime you. Beware! I have called twice to pay the bill and can't even get a return call from them. We also have an annual service contract with them that will not be renewed. And lastly, to add insult to injury, they included sales tax on a 20 dollar fuel bill. I reported that to the revenue dept.

Got behind van #80 of theirs, on I-40 coming out of Conway today and the driver wouldn't follow state law requiring him to move from the left lane and he was also all over the road. He swerved so bad at one moment that he almost hit a driver in the right lane. And probably would have if the other driver hadn't hit his brakes. Disturbing and very inconsiderate of others. Hopefully the service is 100% better than their driving abilities.

$600 to unclog the drain. Ridiculous. I wasn't home, my wife paid them. I would have refused until I talked to a supervisor. Now that they have my money they won't call back. Don't use this rip off company for anything.

There was a miscommunication about the emailing of the completed invoice being emailed to me. But it was my failure to check my ""Junk"" folder for addresses not in contact list. The Tech, named Jerry, did an excellent job, cleared my problem in the kitchen, knew immediately that there might be a problem with bathroom room drain because it's right next to kitchen and took care of it. He even made sure there wasn't a leak at the meter. He definitely knew exactly what to do and did it.

This used to be a good company but not anymore. They do take advantage of you though. We had a problem with one AC unit that we had bought from them that was around 8 years old. It was a top of the line expensive heat pump and was not working correctly but still working. We heard a racket from inside the house and when we went to investigate the employee had completely dismantled the unit saying ""I can't find the leak"".! So of course they wanted us to buy another top of the line unit from them to replace it because he had destroyed that one. We did go ahead and get a cheaper model because we had to have something right away at that point but will never use them again.

Had new AC installed in my shop last year. The guy who installed it had retired so I called Advantage when it started blowing hot air. They came out and put 3 pounds of freon in and said they would have to come back for ""leak detection"" They came back 2 days later and found a loose nut in the line which Handed me a bill for almost $600 to tighten a loose flair nut and 3 pounds of freon. They will overcharge you

Just talk to a person I know who has a rental properties and had Advantage come out because a unit was blowing hot air they told them that it was completely toast and would have to be replaced and quoted them $6000 to do the repair for a package unit. Fortunately my friend was smart enough and had another person look at it and said that The fans were completely called with dirt and grass and just needed to be cleaned and there was nothing wrong with the unit Advantage is a rip off do not use them

I was talking to my friend today and she said she was really happy with the service that advantage gave with giving an estimate on unit and that she really likes the customer service that the owner jimmy gives to her because he is very personable and informative. She has a child with special needs and was happy with how on top of things they were today with everything
