A long overdue review for an excellent installation of excellent HVAC equipment! We bought this house new in 1997. Advantage Heating & Cooling (AHC) were the original HVAC installer in the subdivision. There was no AC when we purchased the house. After the first summer we did purchase air conditioning add-on and we contacted AHC. Made sense since they were the original contractor. AHC has also serviced our system over the years.
27 years later and now it's time for a complete HVAC replacement and an upgrade to modern equipment. In selecting a contractor, it took about a minute to decide that Advantage Heating & Cooling would be the right choice.
AHC specializes and recommended Daikin equipment for a replacement and after researching this company I agreed. Quite an impressive worldwide company! AHC have sent their employees to the company's Texas facility for training and product familiarization and that solidified my decision further.
Working with AHC on this project was simple and enjoyable. Everyone within the company is professional and genuinely friendly. The bis process consisted of the estimator and a tech. They tested my home to make sure they were specifying the correct equipment for my home. Never did they try and upsell me to a system or add-ons that were not right for our house. Very impressive.
As expected, the install went smoothly. The two workers were friendly, professional and fully respectful of our privacy during the process. They communicated with regular updates of the progress without being invasive. The install took two days as estimated. There were no issues/problems whatsoever. After install they completely tested the system and made sure the thermostat was properly setup and that we understood its operation.
The new system is incredible! It is so much quieter than the old system. In fact, when I turned on the heat for the first time, I had to go out to the garage to ensure it had come on! The heating and cooling are both much more efficient and now our HVAC has become transparent. No noise. No excessive fan noise. It just works. The environment is much more comfortable and evenly heated and cooled.
I cannot recommend Advantage Heating & Cooling high enough. If you're on the edge deciding, pick AHC. Add on top of that, the Daikin equipment is top notch, affordable and has a great warranty. Several of my neighbors have had their HVAC replaced over the past few years. Every one of then had one or more callbacks to fix installation problems. We have had zero problems since our system was installed March 2024.
Karl E.Mixed impressions on Advantage. I switched over from a competitor because Advantage honored a low estimate for service. A couple months later, I used them to install a new furnace when ours suddenly gave up the ghost. What I have noticed over the few months, though, is a recurring problem with their estimates; they seem frequently off. I was told service would be complimentary on a Friday only to be told the opposite the following Monday--after they were in my home. This was compounded even further by poor communication in the form of an e-mailed invoice that was incorrect. On top of that, they forgot the part. Fortunately, I was able to call their office and get at least some assistance. Another thing to be aware of is that when you're signed up with some company's monthly ""maintenance plans,"" you may not see charging for short and simple stops. My last HVAC company, for instance, came out for free to advise as to whether a second story leak was related to the air conditioning system. That doesn't seem the case for Advantage; they arrive at your house, and you are going to pay.
So, bottom line, the estimate issue brought me to them initially, but in the end, it may also be a sign of a poorly managed operation. Going to stick it out a little while longer and see how they do in the coming months.
As an update, a few days following this review, our new furnace developed a gas leak.

Have had Advantage service our 70 year oil furnace for more than ten years. We love Jeff. He knows everything about our old Mayflower oil furnace. He has always given us options on running it. We are crying now because Advantage is no longer doing servicing in Oregon. Jeff has kept everything going great all this time. When we called an Oregon company to unclog the A/C system pump piping (which Jeff did two years ago), the service man opened the furnace and promptly said we had to get a new one for safety purposes and he wouldn't work on it. So, we're going the youtube way of unclogging the pump piping, and hoping Advantage will change its mind about working in Oregon.
I just had the Advantage team install a new gas furnace and AC unit. Furnace was an attic replacement, and the AC was an outdoor unit. From start to finish, estimate to install, was great!
A two day job. The guys were, professional, friendly, and answered any questions I had. Thanks guys for your hard work!

Chris D.Two years ago we purchased a new Daikin heat pump and furnace through Advantage. We were unfamiliar with this brand and so we were hesitant about moving forward but were assured this was a quality product.
Since then, we have had significant issues with the heat pump. Since installation - the pump has frozen up twice (picture a giant snowball) and now has a new leak (it leaked previously too). As of this writing the unit is dead and unplugged. Getting parts in a timely manner from the distributor has been a joke.
We can use ""emergency heat"" still but that is very costly. So this winter we have heated our house with almost a cord of wood. The only reason this purchase has not been rated lower than 2 stars is that our service tech (Jeff) and some of the office folks have been very pleasant to work with. If I could do this all over again I would have purchased another brand. Life lesson...

I've talked to the same ladies (Trish and Pam) in the office and Jeff has done a fabulous job of installing and servicing our unit. We highly recommend this company.
In the 16 years we have had our home, Advantage has provided several services calls. They have done a great job at resolving the any problems. Jeff is particularly knowledgeable and able troubleshoot various situations and get things running. Advantage is always very responsive and provides great customer service. I highly recommend them.
I gave it one extra star for this company because I thought the installation was great. What I am giving a low rating is the customer service. I just got off the phone to get a ""preventative maintenance"" scheduled on my AC unit that I had them install. $170 for this to get set up, the person on the phone was extremely rude! I am not familiar with having AC units installed and I feel like they are there to nickel and dime the customers for this to get scheduled. I will try and go to another company to get a better quote to get this scheduled just because of the poor customer service.

They answered all my questions (no matter how trivial) and the process was painless. They prepped the area, did the install and cleaned up after.
