less than one! This company is absolutely the WORST company I have ever had to work with. Do NOT use them - save yourself a month of frustration and anger - call another company. If you have AHS demand another company.

Our Ac went out 7/10 on a Thursday. I have American Home Shield warranty so I called them and they sent me the worst AC guys in Pima county
We had the Advantage Air Mechanical AC guy at our house Monday 3 days later on 7/14 and he said we had to much voltage going to our AC unit? AHS had an electrician come Bill Richards Electric over 7/15 and he said that the AC guy was just blowing us off so he could get home since we were his last stop of the day. So again I called AHS and they sent out the same company and the same tech the following Thursday 7/17. He went through my system and said he found a leak in a valve not my (coil )and it would take a few days to get the part. He also said we were out of freon and that it needed 12 pounds and the freon would cost me $650. He also took my fully programmable thermostat off the wall and put some piece of garbage up and mounted it crooked,. The Advantage Air. Mechanical guy parked in my driveway and leaked oil all over it. Okay I am back on the phone with AHS and ask what can be done to get this part and get it expedited so my family can have AC again. Ahs calls Advantage and tell them it is priority. Well no one called me Friday or Saturday so I called my own AC guy 7/19, Guess what the new AC company checked my whole system and found out my Evaporator Coil was leaking! Evans replaced the coil on 7/22, If I had allowed Advantage to Continue it would have took 20 days to fix and I would have still been without AC. Advantage tech had no clue what the problem was and would have continued to guess instead of preforming the proper system checks.

ZERO Stars. We have had the worst experience with Advantage Air Mechanical. On Fri. May 9, 2014 our A/C went out. We discovered this when we got home from work. We contacted American Home Shield Warranty since we had recently purchased our home. They put us in touch with Advantage Air Mech. We called their Emergency Service line and left a msg. Mind you the temp in Tucson that day was triple digits. We did not recieve a call back. Had to call them again on Sat. morning. Still no return call. Monday morning we called them again. They said they could send someone out on Tues. REALYY??!! That's horrible customer service. Tues they checked it out and had said we had to replace a compressor which they said they couldn't get for several days. We found one in Tucson and told them where it was. After several phones calls and extreme temperatures we finally talked to the Service Mgr and they came out on May 16th and replaced it. 1 week after it went out. Two weeks ago we came home from work and the house was hot again. Called Advantage Air once again on a Friday, their Emergency Service line, left a msg and did not receive a return call until the following Wed. When the gal called on Wed I asked why it took so long for them to call us back and she said someone tried to call us on Saturday. Well, that is not true at all. We had our cell phones on 24/7 waiting for their call. By this time we had someone else come to look at it. they found that the guys who installed the compressor had it wired wrong and burned up the contactor which we had to replace. We also found several items of trash on our roof, left over supplies etc. which we promptly removed and put in a trash bag and delivered to their office. We would NOT recommend this company for your A/C service needs. Worst customer service we have ever experienced. Living in AZ in extreme heat people deserve better customer service. We have not heard one word from that company or their management.

Too bad I cannot give them Zero stars...that is how bad my experience has been. They have definitely shortened the life of my heat pump. Only saved because on this last breakdown, Advantage was not available (phew!). Another contractor, who may be as bad, called Triumph Air came over. Thank goodness I got paranoid about taking their advice and chose to call the company that I had used for years, I found that Triumph's diagnosis was almost completely wrong. American Conditioned Air saved the day.

They came out 6 times...Yes 6 times to try and fix my AC. When I called to try and speak to management about correcting the issue all I could ever get was the receptionist who could leave a message, and someone would call back soon. I never got a call back from them. Also for calling back; the last time my AC broke over the weekend so I called the after hours support line, left 7 voicemails, with no one returning a call. I also see with other people's reviews that most were referred by Home Shield. I personally feel that both Home Shield and Advantage Air are at the same level of competency 0.

I don't ever write reviews because I usually don't have the time. I'm a senior level executive with a large employer in the Tucson area that keeps me plenty busy, but I just HAD to say something about this outfit.
My experiences with Advantage have been similar to others already expressed here. Over a period of 2 to 3 years, American Home Shield has consistently referred us to Advantage when we had air problems. Without fail, every single time, Advantage never called us as they were supposed to after AHS assigned them. We would have to call -- sometimes over and over with no return call.
This just happened again. For a week and a half and after four calls, no contact from Advantage. I just called AHS to tell them don't EVER send me to this company again.
It's a 108 degrees in Tucson today, and Advantage could apparently care less that we've been waiting on our air conditioning repair for 10 days -- oh, and that's after we had to cancel the previous service call beause they never contacted us after more than a week, and we had to leave for vacation.
Stay away from them. I shudder to think this group might actually install new units for people and provide them with such shoddy service and discourtesy.

My son purchased a home in Tucson, AZ in January and, as luck would have it, the A/C went out on him in May. That's okay though because the prior owner had purchased a home warranty with American Home Shield (AHS) so it would be covered with a $75 deductible. We notified AHS and they put in a work order with their ""preferred vendor"" Advantage. We were told that he would be contacted by them within 48 hours, we had provided AHS with BOTH of our cell phone #'s and email addresses. Advantage claims they attempted to reach us, even though they were provided with four means of contact (2 cell #'s & 2 emails), neither one of us received any messages (full disclosure: my son doesn't have his voicemail setup but there were three other options which they didn't bother to explore). So they cancelled the work order with AHS.
We notified AHS on 6/11 that we never heard from Advantage and requested a different vendor. They said they had to assign whatever vendor populates in their system and Advantage was who we had to use. I explained that they didn't get very good reviews and had some negative reports with the BBB so we would really prefer another vendor. NOPE, as far as AHS is concerned Advantage is fine so.......in goes another work order and we'll hear from them within 48 hrs.
48 hours later (on 6/13) I contact AHS and tell them we STILL have not heard from Advantage and there is no way we've missed a call because my son HAS BEEN STUCK IN HIS 110+ DEGREE HOUSE FOR THE LAST 48 HOURS WITH STREP THROAT and his phone has been right next to him the whole time! Again, I request another vendor and was told they would prefer that we use Advantage and will call them to see what the problem is. Approximately 40 minutes later I get a call back from AHS informing me they have been trying to reach Advantage SINCE WE HUNG UP and can't get through to them so they are now going to assign us a different vendor.
BTW, by this point we were desperate to get him (& his two dogs) some AC so we called another vendor (that gets five star ratings on Yelp) and asked them to diagnose the system. We figured if it was an easy and cheap fix we would just pay for it and end this nonsense. They responded immediately and found that the blower motor was shot due to some insulation falling into it (the unit is located in the attic). So, since this was a costly repair, we decided to go ahead and run it through AHS using the second vendor they had assigned to him.
Unfortunately, the vendor that we had diagnose the problem hadn't fully put the unit back together so NOW AHS IS DENYING THE CLAIM. To add insult to injury AHS's vendor (that did actually call and show up) reported that they ""found the board pulled out & damaged"" which is totally false. When we heard this my son went into the attic to see for himself. The board is in perfect shape but AHS doesn't want to honor their warranty saying we breached the contract by having it pulled apart. Hey AHS, how about your part of the contract that we will get a response within 48 hours? I guess that doesn't apply when you're the one in the driver's seat, right?!
So thanks Advantage, here's the end result of your lack of response:
My son had the pleasure of living in a 110+ degree house for over a month
We've spent endless amounts of time on the phone with AHS & other vendors
What should only have cost him $75 (AHS's deductible) will now cost him probably somewhere in the range of $600+ (if he's lucky).
Way to go Advantage......I hope your enjoying your air conditioned room while you're reading this because my son sure isn't. You should feel bad for causing him to not only suffer for the last month in the sweltering heat but costing him so much money due to your inept business practices.
P.S. I wanted to post photos of the pictures of the board but it didn't give me the option, I will later if I can figure it out. Thanks for reading this, I know it was long and boring :-/

can't comment on their work because it never got that far. My home warranty company contacted them and I had to call back a few days later myself to schedule an appointment to which they never showed up for. My home warranty company called them again to reschedule.... again, no call back even after leaving messages. zero customer service, thus zero stars

The AC in my home was broken and I needed to get it fixed ASAP because it was the middle of summer in Tucson.
They gave me a four hour time window for when the repair person would arrive which seemed longer than most other services that have 2-3 hour time windows.
They ended up not showing up at all. When I called to ask if somebody was coming they were rude and did not seem to know what I was even asking. They never answered my question.
I would not recommend Advantage Air Mechanical to my worst enemy because they do not prioritize customer service and they never showed up to fix my AC at all.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Do not use this company even if sent by American Home Shield. They have been out 3 times to ""fix"" our air conditioning and each time it has worked less than 24 hours before breaking again. The repair person even claims to have replaced the compressor in 45 min. When it again broke after the 'new' compressor was installed they offered an appointment 7 days in the future. That is not acceptable in Tucson when temperatures are nearing 100 degrees.
