Don didn't show up--twice. He didn't even call. I had to call him two hours after our appointment--each time. We made a third appointment; I canceled an appointment of mine to be here for him. He came, installed the stove, then overcharged my landlady by an hour and a half!

When he was done, I said, ""Now, to see if it works!"" He said, ""Not my problem!"" Really?

It's amazing how this business is still open.. I got my first Backflow prevention device notice after moving to Boulder Creek less than a year ago, ADS is the first on the approved list of testers, I gave him a call and less than 1 minute into the call he said he ""wasn't interested because I hadn't paid him the last time"" and hang up, there was just enough time to tell him I was the new owner and didn't know what he was talking about, still he didn't care and hung up!!! This is just unprofessional and unacceptable.

Don Adams and AMS received 1 star for showing up quickly. Do not use this company as the owner, Don Adams, who also preforms work is rude, unprofessional, and hot headed. Both he and his assistant showed up without calling ahead of time, smelled of pot, chewing gum, pushy, wouldn't listen to the info we provided from PGE. They were out to provide an estimate and just left when they didn't want to discuss the questions we asked. Never returned calls, his voice mail message was full or lacking of professionalism. Received a bill for work not requested and no quote for work asked to be done. Here's his reply to an email I sent when I would not get ahold of him on the phone: ""i knew you would not pay for services rendered so i treated you as any deadbeat ... who takes advantage of labor and the trades.... this is why no one wants to work on yr property at the supply houses other plumbers have posted warnings about doing businesses with you folks ... we only showed up as a favor to randy with pac sun .....you are the one who is unprofessional.... so go away ........ i obviously do not need yr kind of businesses"". FYI, we have not used any plumbers so his warnings are a lie. Stay away from AMS and especially Don Adams. Scary.....

After one reschedule Don came out and installed a new furnace and cleaned our dryer duct. Cleaned up everything and was finished in four hours for a very reasonable price

Don Adams was very unprofessional, he either shows up late or not at all, he and an employee came through to fix our appliances (dishwasher, vent above stove, and microwave above stove). When Don looked at the dishwasher he said ""the dishwasher works, it just wasn't working because there was an accumulation of grease."" This sounds odd because usually dishwashers clean the grease, non the less we believed it was fixed and tried to run it, by no surprise to me the dishwasher was in no working order. Don also installed a new vent fan above our stove taking out the old microwave/vent fan installation and just tossed it on our back porch, not only did he leave the old installation and debris from the wall on our back porch but he also did not instal the new microwave, when I called Don asking why he had left the old installation and not installed the new microwave above the stove, he said it was non of my business, he said ""You don't pay my bills, your landlord does, so i don't have listen to anything you say."" This is very unprofessional to be talking to a customer like this, in response i said ""Excuse me is this how you talk to one of your customers"" after I had called him out on his unprofessionalism he then hung up the phone on me, i called again on my friends phone to continue the conversation, he then threatened to come to my property and to kick my ass. These are Don's words exactly, ""I will come to your house and personally kick your ass."" I would not recommend his services to anyone, obviously he is inept to run a company and not only lacks the social skills to communicate properly but also lacks any experience in ""Advanced Mechanical Services"".

Do not use this service. Our house property manager has used him multiple times against our recommendation and each time Don Adams has shown up either multiple hours late without any warning, or not shown up at all. When he or his employees do show up, they are in our house for no more than 30 minutes before they must ""finish another job elsewhere"". We have had a hole in our bathroom ceiling for 3 weeks now, and in the three times he has been here during these three weeks he has put in maybe a total of 4 hours of labor. The hole was made to originally find a leak coming from upstairs, and when we asked him where the leak was located we were told by Don Adams that ""that wasn't his job"". That section of ceiling needed to be sealed and pumped of oxygen using a large tool, Don Adams left this refrigerator sized tool in our living space for weeks. One of my friends even overheard him say to one of his employees ""What are you doing?! We can't half ass these jobs anymore these new kids will ask for invoices."" Whether it is because of a lack of motivation, or sheer incompetence, this plumbing service is by far one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever used. One star.

Don is the most knowledgeable service plumber I have met in Santa Cruz. He is prompt, clean, and fast. Don't hesitate to book an appointment with Advanced because they get the job done right the first time!

The reviews about this company being flaky are true! Two appointments were made and both appointments were no call no show. Very unprofessional and rude. I wouldn't have gone with them the second time, by my property management company set up the appointment and no one else could come out for 2 more weeks. I don't know how anyone runs a business in this manner. They don't even return the call after they no-show!

We have had work done by Don Adams and his son previously that we have been satisfied with. For some reason, they are now seem very flaky. Twice we were told we would get a call back that never happened and they did not show up for their appointment nor did we receive a call to reschedule. I would no longer recommend them.

Don and his company are totally unprofessional and unacceptable. Don said he would show at 2pm, called at 3 and said it'd be another hour. Never came. Finally got a hold of him at 6:30 and he said he'd been busy with a client that has more work for him. Said he'd show up at 10am next day. Never showed or called. I left voicemail that went unanswered. This was for a broken hvac. It was 34 degrees this am and he knows there is no heat here. Could care less. Skip this jackass and call someone who is a professional.
