The guy told our landlord yesterday that he was going to shut off the water from 9am -12pm. That was fine with everyone in the building complex, the issue came when they started banging on our doors and ringing the door bell. The landlord said he needed to come in to check the leaking but there was none coming from our apartment.(5 Plummer's had already told her it wasn't from us) He told her to go door to door demanding that we open and let him in. Many people were going to work, weren't dressed, had kids sleeping, etc. people weren't prepared for him to COME IN. We thought he was just going to shut off the water like he said.He got frustrated and started to talk bad about all the tenants and making fun of all of us. Calling us bad names and telling our landlord to demand us to let him in. He sat outside our building for 25 mins waiting. All in all horrible experience.

There is nothing ""advanced"" about this ill equipped leak detection company. Our business recently burst a leak in piping beneath a modular building. We could see the water gushing out but since this was beneath a building we needed a more accurate assessment than ""Yeah---you've sure got a leak going on down there!"" We needed to know where the waterline was located and a better approximation of the source of the leak.

A plumber strongly recommended we hire Advanced Detection Svcs to pinpoint the exact source of our water leak. We paid Advanced Detection Svcs $220 to do so.

Advanced Detection Svcs was useless. They are unable to track ANY water line that is not made of metal. Our plumbing lines are made of PVC piping. The best they were able to do was to point towards our modular building and mumble, ""Yeah---you've got a leak under there somewhere."" As you can imagine---""somewhere"" is not exact enough to tear up the pavement with exploratory digging.

My husband called the owner of Advanced Detection Svcs to complain. During the course of their call my husband said, ""I wish you would stand behind the work of your company"". Their owner's response, ""Well you can wish for whatever you wanna wish for!"" Seriously? Is their owner an argumentative 11 year old?

They performed no service for us yet refused to refund even a dollar of the $220 we'd paid them in good faith.

The next day we hired a wonderful leak detection company, C.P.L. (Cable, Pipe & Leak). CPL identified the precise location of our leak within 15 minutes of entering our property. Thanks to CPL, we were able to successfully bypass the area with new piping.

In reading their reviews on here its clear most were invented by someone working for their business. It's interesting to me that they depend upon ""plumber referrals"" to land new customers. I would be shocked if they are not compensating those plumbers for referrals.

Bill came out today and found my leak, under my concrete driveway in 20 minutes. ADS is the right team using the right tools and does a professional job.
Highly recommended them.

Great experience with Bill. We had a water leak in our backyard irrigation system. Called a few plumbers and they recommended we call a leak detection service, Adv Detection Services was the recommended company. Bill was easy to reach (left a voice mail, he called back promptly), scheduled the service ($220 for 2 hours, which is a good rate we've learned after calling around for quotes). He was on time for the appointment, found the leak, mapped out our irrigation line and explained everything thoroughly including several ways a plumber could fix it. We highly recommend.

Felt this review was really important as I was referred to this company by my plumber and could not find much on them. Short story is I had a slab leak so I called a plumber (as most people would) he came out and said I need to call a leak detection company and gave me a couple of numbers. I called all the numbers he gave me and every one of them had something that seems a little odd. So I called a couple places well rated on yelp. One guy said he would not do it unless he did the repair. The other guy said it would be $200 per hour, should find everything in under an hour but if it goes over, it will be the same rate per hour. On top of that they did not seem excited about mapping out my lines.

Bill on the other hand, at the time was $240 for 2 hours and he said he would do everything my plumber suggested. Map out the lines with tape, find the manifolds and find the leak.

Before he showed up, I asked Bill if there was any info online that I could look at to confirm he was a legit business. He basically said, sorry I do all my advertising through plumbers because when you have a leak, you call them first, not him (like I did). He then told me he has plenty to do so if I am not comfortable I am welcome to call someone else. Was a little curt, but hey, I only care about the work.

Anyway, he said he would show up between 10-12 and would call ahead of time. At 10:11 we received the call that he would arrive in 30ish min. It took about an hour and 30 min for him to do everything (glad I did not pay $200 /hr) and in the end I had:
* Only one hole in my wall to expose the manifold that needed to be hooked into
* Blue tape on my floor for where all my pipes were
* I knew where the leak was and I knew what to repair
* most importantly, the info he provided was spot on.

Thanks Bill!

Note: My plumber told me a story about another leak detection company that is well rated on yelp but has had issues with them misidentifying where manifolds were. Last thing I want is someone misdiagnosing the problem and having to fix things twice.

These guys went above and beyond the call of duty to locate the underground water main that feeds our house. Found out we actually have two different feeds! Got us on the schedule fast, showed up on time, located the pipe no problem.
