We had a problem over a weekend that the owners of Adelphia took a personal interest in and quarterbacked the resolution of, staying in constant touch with us late into a Sunday night. They were responsive and knowledgeable!

I have used Adelphia several times for my condo and my daughters condo in center city Philadelphia. They have been polite, accurate and more to the point....get the job done. The ""engineers"" in our condo buildings are incompetent and have broken things in our apartments when they come in. I now refuse them entry. In fact, I am going to call Adelphia this morning for my condo.

This review is for ourselves and our elderly neighbor who does not have the ability to leave a review.

Guess we should have read the reviews here first about this circus company. In fact we wish we just listened to one of our neighbors when they tried to charge her 5 hours that the worker ""was there"" for an hour and a half job because he decided to take a nap under her sink and was caught by her. When the company was called she could tell it was being swept under the rug by the office personnel. It will all be brought to our boards attention now that i am involved.

So now for our one star. Shame there is not less of a star. We had the pleasure to receive the same plumber as my neighbor unfortunately. We are just lucky our bill was to be paid by management. Again a job that should have taken 2 hour turned into 8 hours. I am no plumber by any means but even my fiancé knew to remove old 5-6 inch cast iron and install new the plumber should not use one of the home depot yellow cans of torches. My guess is that is purposely done on his part to make the job take longer and rack the bill up. Completely ruined a day for my fiancé. It was a completely awkward experience as she felt she was being ""hit on"" receiving his upcoming divorce stories. What a mistake on my end leaving her to stay home and deal with this mess. Sorry again babe if your reading this. If you plan to hire this circus do yourself a favor and be sure to read all reviews.

I had a hot water heater which was left inaccessible by the builder. It was up in a loft area, with a tiny trap door that was way too small for the tank to fit through, and further, it was behind so much plumbing and wiring there was only one way to come out.... through the drywall... with the workers on scaffolding. The condo's property management calls for hot water heaters to be switched out every 10 years. If it was not for this building regulation I don't think I ever would have known about this problem, unless it had become a problem. So, I proactively contacted Adelphia to come and take a look at this potentially REALLY EXPENSIVE situation.

Adelphia came into the unit and suggested draining and leaving the inaccessible unit in place, while placing a smaller unit into a closet corner. They were professional, prompt, neat and clean, and the price was very fair. They saved me A LOT of money, time and general aggravation for me, with their innovative problem solving.

Got a leak on Saturday night. They called back immediately and problem solved a temporary solution over the phone. Instructions to my husband and myself about turning off a toilet valve and checking a line were thorough and reassuring. They sent someone out on Monday to fix the problem which was done to our satisfaction.

Horrible company, i wouldn't hire these clowns, even on my worst plumbing days. My neighbor was getting work done as his house seemed unoccupied. During the time that these ""Adelphia"" Plumbers were there, I was hearing this shmuck frantically laughing, and cursing like a crazed lunatic. It was loud and obnoxious, not funny, and annoying. They were dropping heavy drainage pipes from the second story window damaging the neighbors driveway! Made sure i took some pictures of it too. I wouldnt trust these guys! Not on my house!

Let me start by saying I use yelp to read reviews only. I was forced to create an account to leave my very awkward experience with Adelphia after reading their reviews here on yelp. They were sent to my condo by my landlord for my clogged sink. I opened my door when the tech arrived and I was greeted by a very polite young man with quite a bit of tattoos who handed me my newspaper. He came inside and assessed the sink and began working. When I came back to let him know I was going out to walk the dog he was washing my dishes that I left dirty in my sink. I was in total shock of how respectful he was and told him he shouldn't have. Kinda felt embarrassed lol. He then proceeded to tell me its raining outside and that he would take my dog out so I do not have to get wet. Since I was in work clothes and heels I thought it was a great idea. Bella was super excited. He returned back and proceeded to call his office to let them know everything is finished and he is leaving. Well this is where my experience became to good to be true.... I hear the male on the other end of the phone (which was on speaker) say ""whats she look like take a picture"". I walked away in silence as I could not believe what I just heard. So after reading other yelp reviews my guess is that management at this office have serious issues that need to be looked at.

My very beautiful and expensive faucet began to leak. The other plumbers I called tried to get me to replace it. Then a neighbor referred Adelphia. At first I was not impressed. The man on the phone was condescending. When the technician came he seem very uninterested, grumbled, took a photo and left. A few weeks later a new technician came ( ""Joe"" ) to put the part in. He was polite, courteous, neat, and finished quickly. He answered all my questions, some that weren't even plumbing related. When I told him about the other two men, he asked if I want him to inform his employer. I did not. I asked if I could request him next time, he smiled and said of course. I told the referring neighbor about my experience and she said she always asks for him. I recommend anyone using Adelphia do the same.

Apparently my urgent phone call and flooding bathroom weren't enough to peel my mechanic away from his copy of rolling stone and a last minuite cigarette. When he finally decided that he had satisfied his urges did he come in reaking like smoke. Not impressed with my firsy experience and don't recommend. He was in hia truck long enough for me to go and get a camera and take a picture! Very unprofessional company in my opinion. Look elsewhere!

I have used Adelphia several times and i can say i am happy with the men who work in the field but not so much with the inside guy. Two times they have worked in my house the men did a great job in a timely fashion. Each time i have had to call there, i was in shock at how un-professional the older gentleman is on the phone. I am not your friend to talk to how ever you would like to especially as a female. I am a CUSTOMER so no i will not come to your house and have a glass of wine.
