Went out to get the paper and found sewage bubbling up in the front yard. Called Ed Paster and Son Plumbing, got a human being (Joe) on the phone, and they sent someone out immediately. The problem was resolved within an hour. Matt was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. These are my go-to guys from now on!

I meant to write this review a while back and now that they came out for a second time, I am beyond impressed with them.

The first time, they came out to replace our main line. I got quotes from four companies and they were the second lowest quote but had the most positive reviews so we spent a little more. Definitely worth it. The guys were prompt (actually a few minutes early and they woke me up!) and did a great job. They were really friendly and explained everything that they were doing. Highly recommend them for such a big job. They also recommended putting an extra hose spout and a shutoff for a pipe that looked pretty old and beat up.

So today, we had that very pipe burst. We called our home warranty and the plumber that came out evaluated the situation and told us it wasn't under the warranty (legitimately) and that it would cost $645 to replace. I called Ed Paster to get a second quote and one of the same guys from last time was there. First thing he asked was if we use the hose the pipe is connected to. I said no and he said there was no reason to replace anything since he forsaw this pipe breaking and put in the extra spout last year. I hadn't thought of that! He checked to make sure all the rest of the sprinklers worked with that pipe shut off and we were done. The fact that he knew there was a $700 job that they could easily have and were not only was he honest but still checked everything out, knowing that he wouldn't get a dime sealed the deal for me. We'll be calling them first from now.

Unfortunately I went through most of the plumbers in my area before discovering Paster. Now they're my go-to guys.

They respond quickly. They investigate the problem and come up with the right solution even if it's a small or difficult to-get-to part instead of a more profitable replacement. They offer options and make sure you're happy with the results. On a couple occasions now Paster has solved the problem that other plumbers left behind.

I wouldn't use anyone else.

Although these guys are a little pricey, I think they deserve a 5-star review based on quality of work and honesty. Matthew came out to fix a few problems we had (slow running shower drain and a toilet that was running). What I liked was his total professionalism and honesty in quoting prices beforehand and telling me what I needed to fix immediately versus problems that could wait or were perhaps not even worth fixing because of the cost.

Since I had my 7 month old daughter in my arms and was home during the day, he figured that a stay-at-home-mom would be interested in saving as much money as possible and he was right! I really appreciated his no-pressure approach. I can't stand it when a repair man makes me feel cheap or stupid for not spending tons of money to fix everything right away. Matthew gave me choices and treated me with respect. He's earned my future business!

I used these guys for a blocked drain after the first couple of guys just wanted to sell me new sewer lines. they came out right away and started performing the work. the cleanout in my house was installed in the wrong direction and resultantly the work took them considerably longer than it should have. they honored their original price although 2 of them spent over 4 hours fixing the problem. afterwards I had them install 2 new directional cleanouts at a great price. the work was clean fast and effective. having been a construction inspector for 20 years I am always skeptical but these guys were honest with me even though they had no idea what I did for a living. one of the last real mom and pop family business out there with pride. would highly recommend

Well, I wasn't so pleased with their work, which I thought was really sloppy and unprofessional -- and more expensive than they estimated. They did some major work for me -- installing new piping and valves in my shower (which I had gutted and was completely re-doing), including raising the shower head, and new piping and valves in my tub. They tried to tell me that the brand new tub valve I had purchased wasn't ""to code"" and would be rejected by the city inspector (because they didn't want to install it because it turned out to be a tougher installation than they had estimated) -- but the city inspector had no problem with it at all! Because they didn't want to install it, but I insisted, they did a horrible job, leaving a pipe sticking out beyond the wall. I was shocked and had to call them back to fix it -- which took numerous calls to make happen. Meanwhile, my boyfriend was the one who actually wound up fixing the pipe sticking out of the wall -- the plumber just fixed the part of the pipe that my boyfriend accidentally dented while fixing their crummy work.

The plumber who did the work was a very tall guy, so another major problem I had (and still have) is that he installed the new faucet handles in my shower quite high -- much higher than I wanted them. We had discussed where I wanted everything, but when he finished the job and I looked, he had raised the handles several inches -- with no good explanation of why. Very unprofessional.

And if that wasn't enough, I had also requested a couple of estimates which he promised to give me, but then never delivered. Not that I'd ever want to use them again anyway. Especially after he sent a bill which was nearly $100 more than his original estimate for the lousy work that he did. Thumbs down on these guys.

After reading the reviews here I decided to call them a little after 8 this morning.
They are local. They were nice on the phone and within an hour both Brian and Danny arrived. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

Immediately, they were able to diagnose my plumbing problem. Brian, an intelligent man, had a great solution that solved the issues. I thought I would be in for an expensive call, but no, their price was much less than I anticipated. Great price!!

Afterwards, I checked their work, was pleased and Danny, a quiet, talented plumber finished up. I couldn't be more pleased as everything works perfect! The work was completed in a timely manner and everything was left spotless. No messes!! Brian even reminded me that everything was guaranteed...

Just to be sure that this place gets its due, an update is needed.

For my first review, I mentioned that I hadn't actually gotten any work done yet. Well now our work is complete, and I'm as happy with this place as I was when I wrote my review!

When I called to make my appointment with Jay, I mentioned that our pressure regulator (learned that from Jay) was making a lot of noise and that, until Jay could make it out, what should we do in the meantime? Chris, who is the person with whom I spoke on the phone, mentioned that he would have Jay call me when he got into the office in about 15 minutes (it was the end of the day on Friday). Jay not only called, but he stopped by to do the quick replacement of the regulator, as he knew that it was going out and knew that if it broke in the interim, we could have burst pipes in the house, etc. He even apologized that he needed to pick up parts and also pick up his daughter before coming by our house! What service! I of course told him to take his time and not at all feel that he should rush! The work was completed quickly and cordially. We were ready to pay for that portion and Jay said he would just ""square up"" with us on Tuesday when he came to do everything else.

Tuesday afternoon, everything was perfect. I really can't speak highly enough of Jay or of Paster Plumbing. I've spoken with Chris on the phone numerous times and he's been kind and helpful every time. The prices are reasonable, the work is done quickly, and everyone is so nice! Not that I want to have much more plumbing work done in the future, but when it is necessary, I will call them immediately! You should too.
