The Worst! Purchased a water heater from Home Depot and apparently they contract with Addario's to do the installation. I was quoted $1400 from home depot including the installation. Plumbers from Addario's shows up without a water heater, takes measurements, and says the water heater we purchased won't fit. Plumbers tell us to special order another water heater. They then stack up costs like crazy on the spot. Removing a washer blocking the water heater ($185), custom making a pan ($185), bringing in an electrician to install a electric shutoff ($500). You want me to pay almost $200 to move a washer to the side? What in the world is this custom pan made of? because it better be gold. and why do I need to install an electric shutoff when I'm living in a condo and the circuit breaker is literally 10 feet away?! I ordered a water heater online ($500), purchased a pan from home depot ($17), and called up a local father & son plumber ($300). DONE.
Jamie C.I read some of the reviews below and could not believe my eyes. Addario's was professional and came the same day. They didn't try to up sell or b.s. Me they told me what was wrong and they fixed it. I spoke with the owner directly. He always answers the phone and fair and accurate with his pricing. They have been in business a long time and have many repeat customers. Word of mouth is the best advertisement so they have my recommendation. They own there work and clean up thoroughly after themselves.
Needed someone to troubleshoot a Nest thermostat. Told Addario's over the phone and they said they could get someone out within a few days. They ended up sending someone who had never seen a Nest and he had to call their Nest expert on the phone while on-site. The guy on the phone said there wasn't really anything he could do. I called Nest while the workman was on-site and asked what they wanted him to do. The one thing they wanted, the tech couldn't do b/c he hadn't brought the right tools. Addario tried to charge me $185 for that ""evaluation."" I politiely refused to pay them for the visit b/c they hadn't done what they said they would, and to their credit they never hassled me. The guy who came on-site was very nice and polite and I don't fault him at all - just the people back in mgmt who sent him over and then told him to charge me. I will not be using them again.
The worst plumbing company around they overcharge for everything and they have unlicensed plumbers coming out your house giving you an estimate I wear for them 3 days 3 days I had to quit because I'm not like that I don't like to cheat customers out of money they love them money and they overcharged what I would do is search around for a different price I would not call a diary out I will call a local plumber somebody small and get the job done right by a licensed reputable plumber most of the guys most of the technicians are not licensed plumbers they go through a lot of technicians because they are not license so check to see if the license first and get a price from them and get a price from somebody else and I guarantee it guarantee it the other person to be half price
Guy shows up and quotes my wife 375$ for replacing a bathroom faucet after telling her that the ""regular price is 500$"", what a total rip off. we sent him away quickly, and got someone else who charged 100$ for the job.
It can be very difficult to find a plumber in Boston, much less one that will come the same day! Dave at Addario's was prompt, courteous and fixed our problem in no time! We will be using them again for any future plumbing needs!
I was recently in a situation whereby in the middle of a remodel, I needed to hire a new plumbing contractor to purchase and install a new water heater and install a new toilet and sink that I supplied on my own. Addario's quickly responded to my request on Friday morning and had a crew at my condo in the South End in less than 3 hours.
The plumbers that showed up were very professional, respectful of my new construction, floors and walls. After looking at the details of the job, they called their office and came back to me with a price quote, I agreed to it, and they got right to work.
They were half way through the job and found that I was missing a part needed to complete the toilet install, and it was a custom order part that I had forgotten. I called the supply house where I got the toilet and said they would have it ready Monday morning. The plumbers offered come back on Monday morning to finish the job. I told them that I was not able to pick it up due to my work schedule, and they offered to pick it up on their way in the city in the morning. I gave them access to the condo, and they took care of everything, called me from the site to let me know they arrived, and called me to let me know when they were done. I called the office and they let me pay via credit card.
I could not have asked for better service. The job was not inexpensive by any means, but in my opinion you get what you pay for, and the job was quality. Thanks guys.
Joshua J.Addario's installed a hot water heater for me seven years ago and told me that it is now code to have a working drain pipe under your hot water heater so of course I paid them to install one. My hot water heater failed last week and we were alerted when the water alarm I installed (home depot) went off in the middle of the night causing me to immediately shut off the water to the heater and cut power to it.
Addario's tells me they have to come to my house to give a quote and ABSOLUTELY can't give one over the phone. OK, come on by... ""just so you know if we come by and you don't do the work it is a $59 fee..."" ""OK, no problem...""
The man arrives and before he even looks at the heater says ""my boss told me it's going to be $2500"". I said ""Oh really, yet I'm paying you to come here to assess it, why, when you could have clearly just told me that over the phone."" ""He tells me he's going to text his boss who comes back at $2200. I say no. Then he tells me he can do it for $2000, if I put a yard sign up. I pay the $59 and ask them to leave. Mind you they installed it 6 years earlier for $1500, with the added work of a drain pan and drain.
I call McMahon Plumbing and get a quote over the phone of $1600 installed for one that is 10 gallons bigger!! I say sure! They arrive and low and behold ADDARIO'S never actually connected the drain pan to anything! It was a sham.. I can not recommend McMahon enough.
The worst experience ever. They installed extremely overpriced gas heater in our house, that they would never service since. Would setup an appointment and never show up. During the last snow storm the heater stopped working, the house was quickly cooling down. Heating pipes could burst any time. The company promised to send someone to take a look. When we called again after waiting in vain, we were told that they will not come due to the dangerous situation on the road. We called another company that tried to instruct us over the phone, than obtained a permit from the town and came to our house to help.
Brian H.Addarios was referred to me by National Grid. Maria sent an estimator right out to the house and he gave me the price right there after a complete explanation of the type of equipment, benefits of converting etc.. Maria took it from there, scheduled an immediate installation and made sure that everything went according to plan. The installation team, Joe, Nick and the rest did a great job, handled everything including city inspection. Joe came back a few days after installation to fine tune things and go over the systems with me. Overall, I was very pleased with the way Addarios performed.
